Just read on another Disney board that starting in June 12 on the Magic and June 13 on the Wonder, soda will now be complimentary onboard and at Castaway Cay and will remain complimentary during all meals!

For those that booked through AAA, insted of receiving soda mugs/stickers, you will receive stateroom credit (amount depends on length of cruise and room category) Just thought I'd let you all know!

cepmom - This would be good news indeed. Would you be able to put a link to the other thread here? Thanks - Mike

I'm afraid I'm not sure how to post the link, but here is a copy of the post that I read:

"Beginning June 12 on the Disney Magic® and June 13 on the Disney Wonder®, AAA/CAA Travel
will receive a new member benefit. Clients who purchase a Disney Cruise will receive an onboard
credit good toward merchandise, spa treatments, shore excursions and other onboard activities. This
benefit replaces the complimentary soda program, which will now be available to all Guests at the
24-hour beverage station on Deck 9 Aft and during meal hours at Topsider Buffet/Beach Blanket Buffet.
Complimentary sodas will also be available on Castaway Cay at Cookie’s Bar-B-Q and the adult-only
beach, Serenity Bay. Sodas will remain complimentary in full-service dining rooms.

The following AAA/CAA exclusive member benefits still apply:
• 10 percent discount on merchandise onboard at Treasure Ketch with a minimum of $75 purchase
• 10 percent discount on snorkeling, bicycle and .oat rentals at Castaway Cay
• AAA Vacations® Diamond Card privileges and access to the AAA VIP Lounge located in
Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom® Park (one visit per party) when Theme Park admission
is included in a 7-Night Land & Sea Package.
*Any unused portions are non-refundable and non-transferable. Onboard credit is combinable with other
onboard credits. Onboard credit amounts shown in U.S. dollars.

Itinerary Stateroom Onboard Credit*
3 or 4-night cruise Categories 10-12 (Inside) $ 25 per stateroom
3 or 4-night cruise Categories 1-9 (Outside) $ 50 per stateroom
7-night cruise Categories 10-12 (Inside) $ 75 per stateroom
7-night cruise Categories 1-9 (Outside) $150 per stateroom

cepmom- Just read this in the other thread as well. I think DCL is doing a very wise thing and it's about time. Also nice to know AAA will be giving stateroom credits as well. Thanks for getting this info out as quick as you did. - Mike

I wonder if AAA will retroactively apply the onboard credit for all bookings already made for June 12th sailings and later - or only for new bookings? - Mike

CAMICKEY-
I wondered that myself. Might be a good question to ask the original poster on the other board..I think she said she worked for AAA and that's how she had this information.

Actually, I got the opposite impression. I thought from reading it that that may be true for previously made ressies and was wondering if new reservations would also get the onboard credit. My AAA TA said I could have the soda package plus $100 onboard credit if I transferred my ressie to them. So shouldn't that mean I'd get a $250 onboard credit?

I left a message for her to call me about this.

::yes:: What great news though that Disney is finally including soda! Now we don't have to carry those mugs around anymore! Yeah:Pinkbounc :bounce: :teeth:

We have a booking for 12/11/04 and AAA just emailed me to annouce the new soda program and we will recieve the $150 onboard credit!

lillygator - Good for you. Always nice to have extra money on board. - Mike

Not to totally rain on everyone's parade, but notably missing in the release is the mention of room service and service at the bars.

WOW , i so hope this is true , if so it just saved me $104 in not having to buy the soda stickers, is this going to be for all guests not just for AAA ?

Great News.

We Re-booked on board (TWO cat 9's) for seven days.

Got A $200 credit from dcl (each) now add $150 and that comes out to$700 before I even sail!

Thanks!

Jim - not sure about that, but DU wouldn't let me combine my $200 onboard credit with their onboard credit when I switched to them. They said Disney does not allow two different credits. You should check on this.

since it'll be available at the deck 9 drink station, I'm guessing room service and the bars will still charge.... Good excuse for exercise (walking up to deck 9) every time I want a soda!! :)

Posted on wrong thread, sorry.
Having a bad day, did not post on wrong thread.
My original post was on combining $200 on board booking credit and DU rebate which we have done the last 3 cruises. When I posted and saw the soda thread I thought I had the wrong topic, really got off track here!

Jim, are you talking $150 for the soda package. My understanding is that credit is only available for bookings made through AAA.

Susan, wondering that too. Have a call into my AAA TA, I'll see what she can find out.

Well this is what the AAA TA told me a few minutes ago. We will be receiving a $150 credit per cabin (there are 3 cabins) for our July 3 western cruise. As someone already guessed, lounges and room service are not included in the "free soda" deals. But what a deal for us! I only drink 1 or 2 sodas a day, preferring tea or water, and I really limit the kids sodas as well, so $150 is a real windfall for us! That's a spa treatment!
