Resale shopping again.. my heart wants one thing but my head says another. Give your opinions.

The red iguana in salt lake is legit. Worth the wait and I’d put it with the running of some of the best sit down Mexican restaurants I’ve eaten at in my lifetime.

For CO I’ll forgive their desire to give most items that green chili sauce as it’s tasty. Not what I grew up with but it’s yummy.
Their tag line is "killer Mexican food" so you could be right

I can 100% confirm that you will be disappointed in the food here. We moved from Louisiana 4 yrs ago and everything here is mid or meh.
Had this saved for a potential visit and just tried it yesterday. Not worth flying to Orlando for but great pho, banh mi, and the Korean style corn dog was excellent. Surprised they could execute such a diverse menu so well.

similar diverse menu but with a Latin American flair. Doesn’t execute as well as the best in Miami but solid and we try and go each trip here.

It could happen. It's not that far gone. I got my RIV points just last summer for 158 after magical beginnings. They just bumped the price up a bunch when the Politow opened since Poly is so popular. It may get down there again if sales continue to be slow
Oh, but $158 pp after magical beginnings isn't apples to apples because you had to give up the current UY points. I didn't factor in what I got out of renting out those nearly dues-free points! But yes, hopefully there will be another good sale before the end (that happened with VGF2 toward the end of I remember correctly).

But I don't think sales are slow. Last month's Riviera sales were about what the resort has averaged and about as many points as Poly Tower sold. It's over 75% sold out and looks to be done by the end of next year: https://dvcnews.com/dvc-program-men...ary-for-dvc-sales-despite-month-to-month-slip

Not sure when you got yours in your use year but we closed a few days before our September use year started so we sold back the previous year's points and then had full points immediately to start booking with. And only paid around 33% of dues for 2024 as well.

I could have rented out the 2024 points as well and said $138ish per point depending on what we rented for, but I think the total that you end up paying/getting back directly from Disney is the best number to report. So magical beginnings I would take into account but not really renting out the first year or two of points because that can vary wildly how much you can get and requires a bit of extra work and can be taxable

But yeah $155 without even magical beginnings will definitely be hard to get to again. Barring some great incentives if sales are terrible going forward.

What are your Cuban food recommendations? 😋

Thank you! I can't wait, hopefully next year! What is Luna Park is that the pool?
Luna Park is an old amusement park in Coney Island. The pool at Boardwalk is called Luna Park pool because it's themed for that amusement park (though slightly less so since the replacement of the big clown face... look up pictures)

I’ve actually been there….

I think I saw a Netflix documentary about this place of a fire that occurred on one of the rides 🤔 i am a fan of the clown face 🤡

Yep, but I will totally be lying and saying I am just touring DVC rooms and not going to the parks.
I have done this and although you feel guilty now, you won't regret it! It's so nice to just be able to relax and do your own thing. I'm doing a solo 1 night at the end of the may to use up my expiring points. Zero remorse 🤣

Big Island Birria Boss
I inadvertently booked an airbnb around the corner from Big Island Birria Boss last year. It was the BEST MISTAKE EVER. I think we ended up there 3 out of our 4 nights. The acai place on corner and the shave ice at the General Store were legit too. Hidden gem of an area.

Lots of people are big fans of the Skyliner as long as it doesn't go down which is less of an issue in the non-stormy months. The nice thing is its easier to get in to BCV at 7 months during the summer at this point but we do have BWV points as well.
Not easier this year! I swear every single person with points saved them during the pool refurbish and is using them starting in June.

Next year you mean? Saw a couple other resorts were stating they were booking up quick it seemed over the 2025-26 winter.

This year had no issues getting BCV at 7 months. We are staying for roughly 2 weeks and even added on to the front of our stay just in the past couple weeks.

We only stay 2BR really so it might be harder in studios so I apologize if thats the case. I saw 2BR lock-offs available though when I had originally booked at 7 months but I prefer dedicated and don't want to take rooms from people trying to get in to the studios either.

In one of our Florida food expeditions we went to a "Mexican" place and the burrito on the menu was called "The Beaner"

My wife being Mexican was very offended by this lol.

I wonder if they know this is offensive or they Just don't care? That wouldn't fly in California, sometimes I forget in my Disney bubble that Florida is in the South and that doesn't concern me a little bit.
We had a coffee shop called thatn"Beaners." They changed the name, but no one who lived here knew why. It had to be explained, because we didn't/don't use that word like that. I am glad they changed it, since so many people move around and know how it was used to hurt others.

I will say, unequivocally, that almost all of the brick-and-mortar Mexican in and near Ann Arbor is bad. There are a couple of hole-in-the-wall shops that are okay, but probably only one of them would last more than a few months in LA.

I keep wondering if Detroit has anything that is any better. There might be. I also wonder if any of the food trucks are better. I am thinking of doing the grand tour.

I didn't think about that how people may not know it's offensive and used in other places as derogatory so that definetely makes me feel better.

There was another bar we ran into that had a very racist name towards African Americans and after googling it the owners very much know what it means and do not care along with a number of other disgusting Promotions they have ran so my impression wasn't the greatest that trip 🤣

Yes, a server from GP also serves the BRV pool. Not sure it's all the time, but every time I've been (it's in late August/September) there has been a server going around. And it during the day, not evening. Maybe because it was quiet at GP and they wanted more tips??? Or maybe it is a designated server for the pool, I never asked. They were dressed in the GP costume, so I assumed it was one of their servers. When I go in December, I don't normally spend time at the pool, so I can't say it happens then. It's a nice amenity!
I've spent a chunk of time at the DVC pool, and I've never seen this person there. Interesting.
