Man I hope all of AoA is not excluded! We have a Cars Suite and will not be changing but free dining would save us a bundle. Will AoA be excluded from RO discount as well do you think?

I'm hoping AoA will be included. We're booked there too. From what I read the RO discount would be 15% off AoA. Crossing my fingers!

I don't post much but I've been here following along throughout all 3 free dining threads. I just want to say thank you to black and Dave and all the other posters answering questions and giving out such valuable information. It is very much appreciated.

I am bummed to hear that all of AOA will be excluded from the deal, as we were booked for Lion Kings suites. I won't be staying there if that's true, so I'm off to do some research about the other resorts and come up with a couple back ups. :goodvibes

I need to crunch some numbers tonight (which I'm not good at!) for my sister who decided to join us in Nov. it will be her and her DH and four kiddos. She was going to do a suite at AoA with FD. But now I'm wondering if it will be less to just stay there and pay for the regular DDP, or book two rooms at POR with FD, or the 15% off at AoA suites? Hmmmm....,

So we are already booked and paid for our Nov 10 arrival. How does fd work if you already have disney paid for? Also, we're checking in on the 10th and FD is to start on the 11th, does that mean on the 10th we'll have to pay for our dining or will it be included in the FD? TIA

As a result of the new information (I can not thank the ones answering all of my questions enough:worship:) My DH decided to take over my obsessive planning and make decisions. If no FD at AoA but we can get it at Contemporary that's what we will do. It is me, DH, DD21, DD's boyfriend 24, and DD3. We plan on being at MK and Epcot mostly. The cost of Contemporary with free dinning for us is only $98 more than rack rate at AoA. Which is what we budgeted for.

Kay - I think that the CBR has a great kiddie pool area ... Best of the moderates. Our last trip, my 5 year old niece & nephew loved playing there. If your family does pool time at the resort, then I think CBR has the edge there. But ultimately I don't think either is a bad choice.

Good luck!

I totally agree. However I would spring for a preferred room at CBR. I stayed in a pirate room and the walk ( while beautiful) was long to the pool and main building.

Ok so I had a few back ups but that isn't going to be the case with the new exclusions.....What are some rooms other that AoA that can fit 5 people and will be included in the meal plan?

Just get 2 connecting rooms at a value, that's one of the cheapest options.

Chip & Co. doesn't always have theist reliable info. Highly skeptical of AoA and ASMoives being totally excluded.

Didn't come from Chip, but from a whole other source.

Believe me, I'd love to be wrong about this one...

I have no idea where this inside info is coming from, but I simply don't believe All Star Movies or AoA will be totally excluded. I'm sure those Little Mermaid room will be excluded and the Nemo suites will be very limited, but ASMovies is WIDE open for booking during these purposed dates.

LM is sold out during our dates but all suites are available at AoA

This is the first time I have hoped Joe was wrong LOL

You will have to book two separate reservations. A room only reservation for the night of the 10th and then a FD package starting on the 11th. Have the two reservations linked to better your chances of staying in the same room for both stays. Just pack an overnight bag for a quicker move in case you have to switch rooms. You can still get the length of tickets you need to cover all dates with the package, and just do early ticket pickup at the park if you need to go to the parks the first night. Info on how to pick up your tickets early can be found in post #15 section I of this thread...

Also I called Disney just to see how it would work since I booked before the ticket price increase and gave a hypothetical example on if FD comes out and suites at AoA isn't listed and I switched with free dining to contemporary if I would have to pay the difference on the tickets. (the answer was no). After her getting excited because we were thinking of switching she ended the call by saying that she was excited that they would be hearing back from us before the end of the week to make the switch because it was a great resort to be at. I don't know what to make of that statement but I feel like she confirmed what we speculated.

How does that work when the trip, tickets and all are already paid for? Once in our room I'm not planning on moving until I check out to come home.

Does anyone have an opinion on the dates bring as predicted? I get nervous being put on the spot Thurs AM to decide about a flight change. Only a 1 day change or trip extension would be worth the money, so since I check in 10/2....date accuracy is a big deal for me!!

Movies doesn't have family suites, but Music does. It cheaper to get the 2 connecting rooms than one family suite.

Yes. I corrected in a later post. Should have changed original. It is cheaper, but Disney won't always guarantee connecting rooms, so some families prefer the suites.

Easiest and cheapest think to do is get 2 connecting rooms at a value.

Really considering doing this myself. We are a party of 5 booked at AOA Nemo but if the rumor stands true to no FD for AOA I think 2 rooms at POP is going to be alternative.

Question for those who have had this experience...how difficult is it in FD day to make this kind of change? And will I need to pay another 200 deposit???

I was told when I called that I could put in a request for connecting rooms but because I only have 1 small child if a family calls after me with 2 adults and 4 children they would get it over me. Which I fully understand but it is not first come first serve. That was why we went with a suite.

wll that will just confuse the heck out of me. I'll have to contact my TA tomorrow and see what she can do..lol

Two Quick Questions:

1) For those of us who are already booked for these dates, should we be concerned that this deal will make the resorts and parks extremely crowded?

2) We already booked for this time using a free dining PIN offer on my dad's account. I'm new to Disney reservations, so would there be any reason to switch from the PIN offer to the public offer? For instance, is a PIN hard to come by, and therefore, worth saving (assuming they don't expire)?

Thanks!

Sorry, she was wrong, the computer will automatically charge you the new upgrade price.

I have already modified it once and wasn't charged the ticket increase. That CM said as long as it is modified and not canceled in rebooked I would be ok. We were originally at ASMu and switched when I decided against the deluxe dining.
