Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

Does anyone else feel like this is the longest discount release wait EVER!!!! With all of the changing rumors and seemingly more costly requirements everyday, it feels like the wait will never be over!!! :hourglass

You will have to call. They do not hold a room for you from the FD pool just because you have a rack rate room booked. If they run out of rooms in the promotion at your resort before you call, you will have to either switch resorts or go without FD. Thats why people advise against booking before the discounts come out.

I had my room booked before I knew there was such a thing as FD. Now I have the RO ressie but I'm really hoping to snag the FD. I wonder if I should cancel my room before the FD is officially announced so I can rebook online with the FD. I'm really hoping to avoid a 3 hour phone call on my cell phone from Canada!

With every bit of information, I'm getting more confused. Should I just try to book a new res at midnight or six or whenever the offer is released? Or should i just call at seven? I didn't want to book a new res b/c I have the reduced cost of memory maker. It's $20, but still...
I'm curious about your comment on Memory Maker? Did you find a code somewhere or just the normal pre-booking discount?

There is definitely a reduction in value when it gets this stressful, in addition to the ticket add-on requirement. However, I don't know enough to know if it's to make the dining plan continue to work on their side, or to wean the guests off of that discount overall.
Aubrav & I debated this last night . . . many pages ago. No one really knows at this point, but I don't think it looks good for the future of FD and next year. I think if you can swing it this year . . . maybe you should do it . . . after crunching the numbers & deciding if its absolutely the best value for your family vs eg RO discount, off property stay, a cruise, Disneyland?, etc.

Hi there-
Newbie question:
If it releases as suspected and we're able to book online, how does it work?
Is there a promo code I have to enter and if so where do I find it? Or does the dining plan just show as $0 if I'm able to get it for free?
TIA

Im determined to stay up until at least midnight to keep checking my site :) Please help me pass the time by having a little fun. Tell me:

1) Your first night dinner reservation and why you chose it
2) Your last morning breakfast reservation
3) The reservation you'll be happiest to get (or already got)
4) The reservation youre least happiest about, but got it because it worked into your plans!

And....GO...

Fun questions!

1) Hoop Dee Doo Revue. It works out well time-wise to see the late show after checking into my hotel.
2) Kona Café at Poly. I have to try the Tonga Toast!
3) BOG for dinner. We'll find out if we're able to get it in approx. 2 weeks.
4) I may end up at the Turf Club Bar and Grill at SSR one night. Depends on whether I feel like driving that night or not.

Mine does not work and they do not know why or when it will be fixed but it is being looked at. I guess they have not received any other calls regarding this matter.
I called today too. My button doesn't work, it just refreshes the page. A cast member said if I had trip insurance, DME, or Memory maker it may not let me change. I don't have any of the above. So they sent me to tech support who sent in a ticket so someone can look at it:(

So child prices for dining and tickets right?

It might have been tickets too.

The first year they did it, they stated it was the child pricing for stuff. The second year it was just a package discount, but they wouldn't tell you the amounts or what it was on. People figured out it basically worked out to the same cost as child pricing.

Oh we're doing it, definitely, no doubt about it.

Anyone know how hard it is to modify your stay after it's booked with free dining? I'm debating on number of nights and can't say that I will know for 100% sure by the time this goes live.

They've just changed their modification policies, so it'll be a little harder. As long as it's available it should be okay. They're basically requiring a new booking instead of just dropping days now.

if an insider could just give us a sign that this is really happening, it would be greatly appreciated so we can all sleep well tonight LOL:worship:

You have to go to the special offers page and check availability on the free dining promo.

This was posted on yourfirstvisits fb page:

According to the rumor, Free Dining should be released on April 27. There is now chatter suggesting that this may go public tomorrow and bypass the Visa offer altogether....so we'll have to keep an eye open for that.

If everything sticks, the promotion would be available for bookings of Aug 15 - Oct 2, Oct 25 - 31, Nov 8 - 19, and Dec 15 - 21. Deluxe and Moderate Resorts will receive the regular dining plan, while Value Resorts will receive the quick service dining plan.

Excluded resorts include All Star Movies, Port Orleans French Quarter, Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation, and various Villas. Port Orleans Riverside is only included during the period of Aug 15 - Oct 2 and excluded for the other dates.

So I have not used my Disney Visa for booking before. I know from what I have read here that I can book for someone else. Does this apply if I am *only* booking for someone else? I already have a bounceback offer booked with free dining but family would like to join us for part of the trip. Do I then pay all of the amount due or will they be able to link to their MDE and make payments in addition to the $200 deposit I have put down?

finally caught up...

I do not have a modify button:
- Booked directly with Disney - room/tickets/memory maker
- no park hopper / dining / water parks
- Not paid in full - Just the deposit at this point
- Canadian .. reason for not paying in full, waiting for the exchange rate to get better ( fingers crossed)

I have logged out.. back in .. used the Disney app on my phone... nothing :-(

I can not call tomorrow until later in the morning...
