Free Dining 2014 Discussion ~ Part 2

silly question....we are booked at All Star Sports 11/16-11/22. I will be calling tomorrow to modify our reservation for free dining. We really want to stay at CBR but don't want the dining plan, would prefer quick service. I know, crazy......right? But our 11 yr old son is autistic and only eats pizza and French fries. Trust me we have tried to introduce new foods to him and this is his fourth visit to Disney. It's not inspiring him to try new foods. Is it possible to get free quick service at moderate?

Last year free dining for Oct-Dec was released at midnight on the consumer site. It was not on the TA site until I think 6am or maybe even 7am.

What link should I try at midnight?

Is it possible to get free quick service at moderate?

Kinda - just accept the regular dining plan and then convert any TS credits that you wish to CS credits at your resort.

You won't be able to get free quick service at a mod, and they won't allow you to downgrade, but it's perfectly fine
to use your TS credits for counter service meals if you want to. Any restaurant will allow this, not just your own resort.

A CM told me that the servers would update the site at 6 am, so to try then. Has anyone else heard anything different?

I got through using the regular telephone number and acting really stupid with the prompts. I was at work, so I really didn't want to actually speak. I started to answer the "Yes's" with 1's. When they asked me to speak my Name I just started to key my name in which means nothing in the IVR land. It connected me pretty fast to an agent.

I'm looking to book 3 rooms but wasn't sure if I can somehow do this all together online (ie in one step), or if I should just do 3 separate reservations online, or if it is better to call. I REALLY prefer doing it online, but want to be sure that we can try and keep the reservations linked together for planning and to ask for adjoining or even better, connecting rooms.
TIA for any tips on how best to book this.

U can book all online if u have everyones info for their MDE and u have to become friends on MDE and u can see all the ressies. U can i think request to be near each other at booking there is a place to enter another ressie number

You can use your quick service (QS) credits only for QS but you can use Table Service for Table or QS if you choose. Not the best value to use TS as QS but you certainly can!!

I don't know if you can use a counter service meal credit in place of a snack credit, not a very good use of something that's possibly worth $15 or so. I think that's what you're asking? But you definitely can use snack credits at the F&W.

you can use snack credits on the food at the F&W. Try the lobster roll!

Question: If we book a room from 10/21-11/1, would we have to do a split reservation for FD?

So 10/21-10/25 would be one ressie, and 10/26-11/1 would be a separate ressie with FD?

Yes you would have to book 2 packages
We were booked 10/24-11/2 but when free dining released for DV we did RO first night and package starts 10/26-11/2

Rooms that showed available an hour ago now are showing unavailable. Not a good sign for me.
