I have been trying to be patient...popcorn::
planning to go Sept. 20-27...
BUT I CAN'T WAIT ANYMORE !!!:yay:
Should I book with the Dining Plan so I can make ADR's.
Or book without it and add it...
Can you make ADR's without the DDP???

Anyone, dining plan or not, staying onsite or not, can make ADRS within 180 days.

If you have a Disney resort reservation, you'd get an extra 10 days on top of that.

I have seen this on many, many threads. Please know when I type this that I'm really trying to be helpful and not snarky or snotty.

Does everyone know that they can subscribe to a thread without posting a message? If you look at the very top of the thread, there is a tab that says "Thread Tools". If you click on that dropdown, there is a choice that says "Subscribe to This Thread". Choose this, it will ask you to confirm and "voila!" you're subscribed (and I don't get another e-mail in my InBox)

Please, pass the word to our fellow DISers

Question... when/if free dining is annouced what is the best route for booking our whole reservation? I'm assuming it will take forever to get through on the phone? Can we book online? Anyone use a travel agent?

We are going to be on spring break when it is hopefully announced (first week in april) and I want to know my plan before hand!!

thanks for any advice!

p.s. I have a disney visa- i should be able to book earlier right?

Sorry if this has already been asked/answered, haven't had time to go through all 12 pages....What would be the best guess on a date for free dining to start? Labor Day is really early this year so I'm wondering if Free Dining would be boosted up a week in August or would it be the last week still like last year. Any thoughts on that?

Last year it began on 8/26/07.

For those of us there last year, that got to bounceback with free dining in August/September 2008, it began 8/30/08 and ran through 9/27/08 (the date range that we got to choose from).

My best :goodvibes GUESS :goodvibes is that if/when offered to all, the date ranges would jive!

I'd call.

My room at POP is all booked for Sept 4-7, my ADR's are all made. I have a nice AAA discount on my room...saved me $63 for those three nights. DU is handling the reservation for me....I'll let Shirley do all the calling and watching. So...if free dining comes out, it is going to be hugely worth it for me to pay rack rates and get free food. I have an AP, so won't need the passes but can save them for another trip if need be. Or, maybe they'll have a deal where AP holders don't have to pay for extra passes...that would be nice as well.
Getting closer to April...can just imagine the frenzy we'll be whipped into by then!!!:dance3:

This is driving me insane!! I cant "firm" up all my plans until I know LOL. Right now I have 2 spreadsheets.....one if there is free dining and one if there isnt. And it does not sit well with the planner in me :rotfl:

Maybe free dining will be announced !
Look below:

The dollar dropped to a 12-year low against the yen and a record low versus the euro Thursday on uncertainty about the long-term effect of the Federal Reserve's efforts to ease strained credit and money markets.

U.S. crude for April delivery was 21 cents higher at $110.13 a barrel, after striking the new high of $111.00 earlier. London Brent crude for April, which expires Friday, rose $1.07 to $107.34 a barrel.

Oil's surge comes as fears of a recession pummel the value of the U.S. dollar -- a factor that has propelled the nominal price of virtually all commodities traded in the currency, despite the risk of a slowdown in underlying consumption.

Maybe we can make an appeal to especially the Moderators whose boards get a LOT of these posts (notably, in my experience, the Restaurants, Dining Plan, and Budget boards)?

Here goes:

Dear, dear Moderators: Would it be possible to add a sticky to the top of the forums, titled "HOW TO SUBSCRIBE TO A THREAD" and, really, just copy DisneyDeeva's post into that thread? It would cut way back on board 'traffic'.
Thank you in advance for your consideration!

I'm so with you! I'm basically planning 2 separate trips right now, which means 2 ulcers instead of just one!!!

Other than the AP, I am in the same boat..... I have 2 rooms booked at POP for Aug. 31st - Sept. 5 with all my ADR's already made.... hoping for free dining and DU will do all the work to get me discounts... although that won't stop me from freting until FD is announced, released and finally booked!!!! But at least I won't have to sit on the phone for hours to get it!
