What are the rules/method for getting a 4th FP in a different park on the same day?

Here is what happened: I was at the parks this weekend. I used all 3 of my FP+ in Epcot. I went to a FP+ kiosk. I requested a 4th FP+ for later in the day in HS.

They said that I could not schedule my 4th for another park (something about it would bog the system if everyone tried to do this and moved FP+ around at another park).

They did say that that I could use my mobile device and use MDE to schedule my 4th in a different park. I tried, but kept getting an error message (something about have to resolve conflicts first).

I finally went to customer service. They directed me to a bunch of CM with the mobile devices in Innoventions East. The CM was able to get my 4th FP for HS later that night. He said something to the effect "I think we just broke the rules and that it worked because this was customer service and not a FP+ kiosk."

I am sure this is discussed in another thread.....What are the rules/methods for getting the 4th FP (or just another one after all are used) in a DIFFERENT park on the SAME day?

Overall, expect things to CHANGE as time passes… we just don't know what will change, or when.

1- You can get a 4th FP+ only after the RETURN TIME of the original 3rd FP+ has been reached.
(You do not actually have to USE the 3rd original FP+.)

2- You (as a GUEST) cannot make a 4th (or 5th, or more) FP+ reservation at a second park until you GET INTO that second park.
(As you discovered, some CM's with iPads at the first park MIGHT be able to make a FP+
for you at the second park.)

Thank you. I (wrongly) thought that you didn't have to be at the 2nd park to make the FP for rides in the 2nd park. Or, in my example, I thought that I could make the 4th FP in EPCOT and not HS.

May I use MDE to make a 4th FP?

You could have used the Kiosk to make your 4th for Epcot while you were in Epcot, but not for another park. I thought MDE was not set up yet to schedule the 4th but that may have changed recently. My understanding is they need to be made at the in-park Kiosk unless a CM can do it for you on the Ipad.

I was there last week and, no, you cannot use MDE to book additional FP+ at other parks. You can try, but it will most often give you an error message. In fact, MDE was unhelpful once we got in the parks. Good for checking wait times and character times but you cannot book FP or make other reservations without getting error message. And yes, you all are right, you cannot make additional FP+ reservations for a different park than the one you are currently in. I really hope they change that in the future! Also, several people have discussed this on threads but I don't think it has really occurred to everyone -but additional FP (after your original 3) can be booked for as soon as five minutes from current time. After we used our 3 FP+ we would find a kiosk, book a FP for a ride that was often in 5 minutes, go straight to that ride and and then immediately book another one. Saved a lot of time!
