FP+ is now completely worthless if you are staying offsite.

Exactly. You could pay for concierge level at the grand floridian, but that alone doesn't entitle one to enter any of the parks. One still has to buy a separate.park admission...a park admission that is the same price for all guests whether they are staying CL at the GF,.at the All Stars, or offsite.

It is the park admission, not the resort stay, that gives one the right to enter the parks and enjoy the attractions. During general operating hours, where one sleeps should have no impact on the in park experience. Disney choosing to open early/late for resort guests is entirely different, as those aren't normal operating hours and offsite guests wouldnt be able to get in anyway, because they'd be closed if not running emh. Park experience during general operating hours, though, should not be defined by where you sleep.

I couldn't agree more! Well said.

No, it's not- but they're quite effective at creating that illusion.

I understand the opinion that resorts should be separate from the parks in benefits, but Disney doesn't want it that way. We simply disagree- but it certainly is not a matter, at least for me, of creating classes or feeling superior to anyone else.

They charge an outrageous amount for their deluxe and villa rooms. While I think some resorts are quite nice and have a lot to do there- it doesn't justify the rates. They have to do something to entice people to stay there and an hour in the morning or an hour at night in the parks isn't enough apparently. So they either increase the perks, or they cut the price - and they're not going to cut prices anymore than the already do.

If you don't like what you get for the price of a deluxe Disney resort...... don't stay there.

That is all.

Exactly, well said! There is a "vast majority" of people on these boards who agree with this position beyond the few people that Suvadoo cited. Like you said, it comes to a point where it's not worth feeding the trolls who are just looking for attention.

We live in a vaccuum and communicate via computers. In my case, I didn't even know if anyone was feeling the same way that I was. Normally, I do ignore the verbal slaps and put downs, but after a while I just get fed up. I will try to ignore the troll. I think it will be much easier now that I know there are a lot of people who share my position. Thanks.

Exactly right! That's what I've been saying all along. I would like more perks, of course, but there's enough to keep me there right now.

Disney is the one who gets to decide what they offer- if it's enough to entice you to stay, you should. If it's not, you don't. But, those who do will get the perks. Just the way it is.

I feel exactly the same way. My inbox is crammed. The difference is, those people aren't willing to put up with the organized effort to run off anyone who disagrees with your bunch.

So keep it up- you won't succeed with me.

Yep. The deluxes are priced as such because of location and proximity to the parks. That is the perk. For some (clearly me at times, as my signature does show deluxe stays) that is the entire point of a deluxe. I dont spend enough time at the hotel to care about hotel amenities. We spend 90% of our time in the parks.

If Disney wants to go.back to the days where you really did have to pay.more to get more (ticket books, as opposed to all access admission), then they need.to restructure their pricing accordingly. It's BS to have all access admission pricing and then say "oh, but this group of people gets more during the regular park day for their same exact admission.because of where they sleep."

If "an extra hour at morning or night" (EMH is 2 hrs at night) isn't enough extra access time, perhaps Disney shouldn't have cut back on EMH. As an onsite guest I have far more issues with that, as emh - especially evening emh - were always great,.non crowded experiences for us. If some choose to avoid those perks for some reason, that is their choice, not Disney failing to offer perks.

We avoid emh in the mornings, but we do love the emh at night. And I agree, I hated them cutting back on emh. Honestly, I'd happily give up that 60 day window to get that back. 60 days isn't really helping other than for 7dmt- at 30 you can get most anything else. Neither of our trips this summer/fall were booked more than 45 days in advance, the late summer trip was booked right at 30 days and we still got what we wanted.

I know 60 days is huge- and it's a great draw- people love exclusivity, but in reality- it's not that big a deal. I look quite often at the 30 day availability since I have an ap, and I rarely see much sold out other than 7dmt.

Vast majority is really just a guess that everyone agrees with you. Lol a funny assumption. People are on both sides. Most fall somewhere in the middle like in most other occasions in life. The op has a strong opinion about their experience. Trying to make them feel bad for feeling this way is kind of silly. I'm not gojng to convince anyone they should dislike the system. To think so is also silly.

I don't like the new system. Loved the old. Others feel differently. In the end it is just a conversation on a msg board. If people make it more Than that that it is a shame.

It is very sad that people can not get the fast passes they want. It is even worse that people have made a thread on here and are bragging how they are taking the loop hole and running with it.
Very sad :( :(

Are you talking about the extra MBs/extra MDE account loophole?

If so, that's only getting them extra same day FPs. So the ones that others WANT and can't GET are likely completely different FPs.

In other words, if someone can't book SDMT in advance, then the person pulling extra same day FPs is not affecting that at all....

I know this particular post didn't specify me, but I've had that same comment levied at me in the past by you as well. I cannot be more clear that there is no organized effort to run anyone off the board.

I do know that I saw the poster you keep going back and forth with in this thread allude to such a thing, but I'm pretty sure that person was being sarcastic in their response.

I'd really just like to not encourage the behavior that's going on and I don't believe you're part of it so I'll just leave it at that.

You are one who, while we disagree a lot, and I do think we got started off on the wrong foot- can discuss issues without letting it get the best of them. I have to work at it sometimes, but to use a very over used phrase..."let it go" is sometimes the best policy.

Aren't you checking your PMs? I'm the Puppetmaster. Assemble the minions!

Or, I've moved on from this one.

;)

I don't think it is MB that is giving themselves far too much credit.

Thanks- you've changed my mind! Wow...:)

I think I'll let you guys chatter amongst yourself while I go extoll the virtues and wonders of FP+ and on site stays. You're just having way too much fun.
