Hope this helps. Some smilies you just can't use on the DIS! What's wrong with some men? Don't they say a plummer always has leaky faucets?

MaggiKitty---Isn't today the day you leave? I get so mixed up on dates! Hope you got your luggage problem fixed. Have a safe flight. Send us some warm air. Have a great time. I'll be looking for updates when you can get on the computer...
Don't

Good morning! What a strange day it is already! Its not snowing here, but its snowing in NYC! Maybe its just too cold to snow....

Yes, M&N...I leave tonight. No, my luggage issues have not been resolved. I'm hoping to have a sudden wind of inspiration and try YET again to pack better. Its just so difficult to weed things out. I have this fear of lost luggage and would like to have a small wardrobe in my carryon just in case. I also need to entertain myself in numerous ways on the grueling flight. And snacks. They do feed us on the plane a few times, but there is a long stretch with nothing to do and undoubtedly I get hungry.

But I'm getting super duper excited! My car has returned, its not snowing and I'm on my way to the tropics! I have a few days to enjoy and fight jetlag before I report to school! I'm meeting with the teacher on Wednesday night to discuss what exactly I'm going to do. I'm nervous and excited and can't wait for my little english class.

But I'm going to miss my Tkers! We're not leaving until the early evening, so I'll try to check in from time to time.

Bopsmom....I"m sorry you had such a rough day with the computers and DH. Hope it can get resolved--both the computer virus and the issue with DH.

mariezp...good luck at the doctor's today!

Big hugs everyone! Take care and stay safe and warm....

Home again w/ poor DS. Hopefuly he'll be better today. DH and I each have only 2 sick days left to last us the whole year! I didn't take the time to multi quote, so I'll see what I remember...

Bopsmom - Sorry to hear about the computer and DH. Why do they have to be so AARRGGGHHH (insert innappropriate word here) sometimes. Not that this helps now, but for the future, I've got an account on Snapfish (another one I hear used often is Shutterfly.) As soon as the pics come off the camera to the computer, I upload them to my Snapfish acct. I would hate to have to buy my picutres back from them on CD, but it would be WAY better than losing them, and I feel good about having a back up. And, my DH is a computer guy and can be the same way sometimes. I hate asking him computer questions. I'm no genius, but I'm not an idiot either, and he can be so condescending sometimes. I think he just gets so fed up w/ people at work all day and HAS to be nice to them. Its not an excuse though.

MK - Have a wonderful and safe trip!

M&N - I had always heard "The cobbler's children go without shoes." :rotfl: Yours is much more updated... I think I'll have to switch.

Racetrack - I think you need to start a whole TKers clothing line. Could be your ticket to fame and fortune. (You've got a captive audience right here!)

Can't remember who asked. QVC is in West Chester, PA - about 20 minutes West of Philadelphia.

Whgrn - must have missed the post. I caught it in someone's quote. Sorry about the sore throat.

Somebody else had a sore throat too... LITC? Well, whoever it was. I hope you feel better.

Marie - :rotfl: My legs are quite blinding too! Where I work, there aren't even windows. I do let them out every once in a while, but I'm not too happy about it. :rotfl:

Alright, I can't remember any more... I'm suprised I did that well. At least 3/4 of my brain cells are turned off right now. I need some sort of a zombie smilie.

Morning!!! It's freezing here. All of 15* (that's -9*C for you Ev) Yeah, I looked that up :rotfl2:

Magikitty, if I don't catch you later, have a safe flight. Have some fun while you are there too. Don't worry about the luggage, it will work itself out. Take care and have a wonderful trip.

Bopsmom, sounds like your DH needs this
2.gif
I would have been royally P.O'd if my DH did something like that. Seriously, what was he thinking? Was he thinking? I hope today is a better day for you.

Okay racetrack18kb you can count me in for a pair of capris. Love the sparklies. :lmao:
My eye isn't bothering me too much so far this morning. I hate having to decide whether to go to the doctor or just tough it out. I did do the tea bag last night but I did skip the pee remedy. I wonder who sits around and thinks up disgusting things like that? :confused3

Bopsmom, I am so sorry about your bad day. Those DHs can make you so mad! It's like they go out of their way to do stuff to piss you off sometimes! It's good to have a place to vent. You have my complete sympathy.

MagiKitty, have a WONDERFUL and SAFE trip!

lighttech, I hope DS gets feeling better soon.

Good Cold Morning,
The temps today are a balmy -9*F (-22*C for Ev) with windchills of -40*.
14.gif
I'm running out of cold smileys to use. Schools are closed. On the bright side, it is sunny. My cold weather asthma has kicked in big time. Can barely open the door to let the dog out w/o grabbing the inhaler. I so shouldn't be living in this climate. :sad2:

I've got to make a trip to the doctor tomorrow. I've got a sty or something in my eye. It doesn't hurt exactly but stays constantly irritated. Anybody got any quick home remedies?
The cure we use is hot washclothes applied to the eye a few times a day. Helps with discomfort but still need to see doctor for a salve.

Believe it or not I also found one that said to take an eyedropper with a good amount of baby urine in it, drop one or two drops (depening on how large your eye is)directly into your eye. This will cure a sty within minutes. Caution: this may burn and have an unpleasant odor. I would not do this one!
:rotfl2: Maybe you could ask Lighttech for help w/ this one. :rotfl2: M&N I think you read the cure for jellyfish stings by mistake. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

DH has been a PITA
He's a member of PETA?? :lmao: OH, wait...I think that is a different acronym.
 to you. Hope your computers recover. I'd give DH a good
1.gif
for that too.

Whgrn - Hope you are feeling better today. RIP old problem tooth!!!

Kitty - Have a wonderful trip. Stay safe.
2.gif
We'll miss you until you check in.

MagiKitty :yay: about your car. Hope you figure out your luggage packing. :wizard:
Bopsmom Your DH was being passive-aggressive, what a pain. :snooty:
PETA=PITA :rotfl:
mariezp Hope your eye feels better.Glad you didn't use the pee cure

bopsmom- I am so sorry to hear that you computers are down!

MagicKitty - hope all goes well!

Have any of you seen Meet the Robinsons? We're way behind on movies, and I kinda forgot all about this one, but it was free on our OnDemand cable today, so DS and I are part way thru watching it. I didn't know what to expect. When I think about it, its sort of silly, but yet when its on, I find myself totally zoned on the tv and laughing aloud. :rotfl: :confused3 I don't know if I'm just tired or what. We're about 1/2 way thru and had to stop it. (DS was having a special sick day lunch in front of the tv, but he was so spaced out on the movie that he wasn't eating anything!) So, we'll finish it up later. Anyway, just curious about other opinions. For those who have seen it, when the dinosaur said "I have little arms... and a big head." I almost peed my pants. Hmmm.... maybe I should send something to Marie! :rotfl:

BTW -Marie, I'm not sure if this would help, but I recently had "allergic conjunctivitis." (Same as pink eye, but from an allergy and not contagious.) The Dr. told me to do the hot washcloth thing to help. It was 5 minutes, twice a day. She said to run the washcloth under water and make it as warm as I could safely and w/o bothering me and then put it on my eye. As it cooled, I was supposed to run it under the water again and continue for the full 5 minutes. I still did need to go to the Dr. to get eyedrops. But, it might help w/ discomfort in the mean time. Hope you feel better.

MaggiKitty---Did you try a bigger bag for your purse and put heavy things in it? I think that's what Wendy said. You could also wear about 7 layers of clothing and change in restroom after going through security. How about wearing a hat and having things in it? I don't think stringing your extra shoes to wear as a necklace would work but maybe you could try it. :rotfl:
Lighttech: I think when I am sick it doesn't take much to amuse me. Glad you can at least enjoy your sick time. I hope DS3 won't think being sick is too much fun and want to get sick more!
And I don't even want to talk about the cold...it's getting very windy too.

The tooth is gone! WooHoo!!! Feels weird to have a big gaping hole. I feel SO much better. The novocaine has worn off but not feeling too bad. (I took Advil a few hours ago and that helped alot. I took Benadryl when I first got home--just in case--but no allergic reaction, and I slept most of the afternoon. I am SO glad it's over!

Bopsmom, give your h (no dh for him!) a kick in the pants from me. MEN!!!

MK, hae a safe and wonderful trip. We will miss you! Check in when you can. Hope you do ok with your luggage.

Today we got snow. We were forecast to have some flurries overnite, so of course it snowed hard a good part of the morning. We only have maybe an inch, but it's probably the most we've had all winter. These forecasters don't know their fannies from a hole in the ground! Tomorrow's high will be in the teens. In the AM it is supposed to be about 6 degrees and windy, with wind chills well below zero. I am going NOWHERE unless I have to! (like driving the kids to school so they don't have to stand out in subzero temps at the bus stop, or wait for 15-20 minutes on a cold bus when they get to school) I want SPRING!!

Yeah on your successful tooth removal, Wendy! Glad you're not having any allergic reactions too. Speedy recovery to you!

Well, dear friends, this is goodbye for now. I'm well layered up, packed too much and ready to get out of this weather! I'll try to checkin when I can. Until then, take care of each other and I'll be back soon! Big hugs and kisses to all of you!

Bye MK...have a good trip.

Thanks for all the celcius temps today...I'll have you converted yet!! It was darn cold here.

Hope everyone had a great day...

WOW 9 pages to read. But I did it. What an adventure. Now DH is real sick too and I am still not back to normal, whatever that is.

So glad that the tooth is gone.

So glad that the car is back.

D&DDisney~ I loved it.

Let us give thanks  for the passengers and crew of that downed plane.

MK~ Have a safe trip.

I hope everyone will feel better soon. Repeat after me. NO MORE SICKNESS.

Chat later.

Got this in my emails. Know many of you are oldies experts so thought I would share:
Some of the artists of the 60's are revising their hits with new lyrics to accommodate aging baby boomers. They include:

Herman's Hermits --- Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Walker .

Ringo Starr --- I Get By With a Little Help From Depends

The Bee Gees --- How Can You Mend a Broken Hip.

Bobby Darin --- Splish, Splash, I Was Havin' a Flash.

Roberta Flack--- The First Time Ever I Forgot Your Face.

Johnny Nash --- I Can't See Clearly Now.

Paul Simon--- Fifty Ways to Lose Your Liver

The Commodores --- Once, Twice, Three Times to the Bathroom.

Marvin Gaye --- Heard It Through the Grape Nuts.

Procol Harem--- A Whiter Shade of Hair.

Leo Sayer --- You Make Me Feel Like Napping.

The Temptations --- Papa's Got a Kidney Stone.

Abba--- Denture Queen.

Tony Orlando --- Knock 3 Times On The Ceiling If You Hear Me Fall.

Helen Reddy --- I Am Woman, Hear Me Snore.

Leslie Gore--- It's My Procedure, and I'll Cry If I Want To.

Willie Nelson --- On the Commode Again.

D&D---feel free to add smilies!!!

I remember all of these songs. :music: I think the added lyrics are so funnnnnnnny :rotfl2: and so true. I am off work today. My department is back to the 4/10 week. I will check through out the day to see if MK has checked in.
