D&DDisney, great smilies! Where in the world do you come up with all those?

I share your pain with the obnoxious posters. I imagine several of us have been there, done that and been a target of "why would you say that?". It's hard to fathom how people can think so differently! And then there are those who can be so adamant about their thoughts that they rip other people to shreds. If I happen to disagree with someone else's opinion I just generally keep it to myself or try to reply TACTFULLY. Guess there are just too many folks living in their own world where everything should be according to their ideas. Sorry you took the heat!

As far as the assigned seat topic... We are still fairly new at air travel. On our very first trip we got last minute flights with Southwest for our return trip home from Disneyland. I had no idea that the seats would not be assigned BUT they were also all that we could find available. Luckily, we were are to find seats for 2 of us together and the other 2 elsewhere. I was amazed at the number of travelers who could see that we were a family and were not about to give up a seat just to be kind! I mean good heavens is a window seat really that big a deal? I think I spend about 10 minutes looking out the window on the whole trip and would gladly change seats with someone so they could sit with their child... as long as I got to stay with mine. Thankfully we fly with American now and as far as I know all their seats appear to be assigned.

And for whether to cook food in your room... if you pay for the room you should be able to do what ever you want to and save money however you can.

Okay you force me to do it again... someone said laughter is good...so how about something to make you laugh. And maybe something you can put to practical use with those pesky telemarketers. Check it out:

Okay... I've got to rant about something.
I replied to a thread asking about buying assigned seats vs. not paying the fee and just letting the airline assign them to you. Boy... did that thread go south fast. All these people came out of the woodwork bashing the OP and anyone else who doesn't want to pay for assigned seats. They said stuff like "you don't love your kids unless you pay to make sure you sit by them. If you can't afford to pay for assigned seats, then don't go on vacation! I'd never move to accomodate you and your child. I paid a whopping $6 for this assigned seat and I'm not moving." Good God -- How nasty can you get?
Oh, and that's not the only thread that went south fast. Another was saving money by eating in your room. Which basically turned into a "Don't you dare cook food in the hotel room. You're gonna smell up the place. You'll burn the resort down!

" Where are these people coming from??? Taking questions and basically turning them into a grudge match. What's wrong w/ people lately? There has always been nasty people on this board, but seems like lately they've multiplied.
Okay... RANT OVER!

Sorry. Been there. I'm fine w/ people having their opinions, but why they can't "play nice" will never make sense to me. Its one of those kindergaarten rules everyone should have learned a long time ago.

Good evening all. I do remember growing up that we would get this cold weather for weeks at a time. I was a walker so I could wear pants to school and would have to change when I got there. I think I was in the seventh grade and that was in 1970.
Monday starting at 10:00am on HGTV they will be airing house hunting in the tropics. I guess I will have to record it. Thats as close as I am going to get.

I WISH this was a joke, that would mean I could just get the old shower heads back. They changed all of them on campus, so everyone is complaining together! I should keep a few of them if they change them back, that could be an amazing prank!!! Thank you!!!!

I can't stand it, it is so cold here. Even inside I am cold. It is negative 1 degree here and that is without the windchill.
Billy tickets go on sale in the morning, wish me luck. I don't usually have the best luck with getting tickets.

I LOVE my UGG boots! I basically live in them when it's cold like this! They usually cost $130, so you saved a little, which is good! Enjoy them!!

Pikerster and I are finally going shopping tomorrow. Target and Michael's will be one of the first stores that we will go to. This is my first time going for the after Christmas sales. I wonder if there is any thing left I do have gift cards for the BonTon and Kohl's that I want to spend before they too go out of business.

I have heard that because of the way that the fleece is inside. It has natural thermal properties. These boots are suppose to keep your feet warm in winter and cool in summer. They were invented by a surfer who wanted to have something on his feet while waiting between waves. I am not sure that they will work for me because of my syndrome.

Exactly. All I know is, I NEVER wear socks with any of my UGGs (boots or clogs), and my feet are always toasty warm, even when it's frigid outside.

I think that as long as the wind isn't blowing it should feel a little warmer. I know that it will have to warm up some if it is going to snow on Sunday. I will take snow over the cold any day.
I will be picking Pikester up in about 6 1/2 hours. Wow where did the evening go. Well I had better go and get into my "Tinker Bell" jammies, stoke the wood stove one more time before I turn in.

D&DDisney, I have noticed the same thing about the boards for a while. I really don't venture out of here at all anymore. I think the anonymity of the internet makes people much braver than they are in real life. Or it could be that when they sit down at the keyboard, all common sense goes out the window.

OMG! I NEED HELP!

DS had this crazy idea... and I am probably even crazier for considering it... of checking out WDW for a week this year. I popped over thinking I would get some ides about tickets, parks, places to stay, etc. but when I did I thought my brain might explode! Good grief! It looks so much more complicated to go to Florida!

So... I am just wondering if some of you can give me some tips on where to start? When is the best time to go? Where to stay for a reasonable rate? What sort of ticket to buy? Etc?????
