Food, SQUIRREL, and When We Are Old...A March 2012 TR

We used to not like F! that much, until this year. We went to the second showing and it was not crowded at all. We had excellent seats front and center and our kids were now old enough not to be afraid. We hadn't seen the show in 4 years ( and at that time we were way in the back and could hardly see) and the show just seemed great this time. I think where you sit makes a big difference. I would give it a chance when your younger ones are a little older.

For our family, we don't like illuminations. But the beauty of Disney is that from trip to trip you get new favorites and new dislikes!

What you said is probably true... we just may have to try it again in another few years. :thumbsup2 I read an article in an allears newsletter that talked about "my Disney". It talked about how each person has their own likes and dislikes about Disney. Disney becomes very personal in our minds. Our favorite rides, foods and atrractions are what we think of personally in our daydreams. And it is all waiting for us exactly as we left it...our Disney. No two people's perceptions and Disney dreams are the same. That is why Disney is so fabulous! pixiedust:

Great update Oopsi!

We have only seen F! once, We didn't get a chance to see it this last trip, and the trip we did get to see it, my camera batteries died - so we had no pictures. I think it might make it to our "must do" list next trip.

All of your snacks look wonderful - what I wouldn't do for Disney snacks right now...

D~

Yes, we are the minority in our opinion of F! And let's just be honest...whatever Disney does is top notch, one of a kind...so don't let our own opinion of the show stop you. You and your girls may well love it! :goodvibes Oh, and pack some extra camera batteries next time. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

I have not stopped craving that stinking Jalepeno Pretzel since I got home from WDW...there is just no where IRL to get one of those maginificent things. :sad1: Disney snacks...{insert missing cloud nine emoticon here}

Wait a minute, you did an update and I didn't get a text?:sad2::lmao:

I am glad you got to see F! again even though you didn't enjoy it. I happen to love F! but I know everyone has there own tastes so will not get mad at someone just because they don't happen to have the same views as me. I really dislike Space Mountain in which many people would be shocked about. But my only experiance on the ride was not a good on. It's your Disney trip so do what you want to do and don't let anyone make you feel bad about it.:thumbsup2 (actually my last F! wasn't the best. It was chilly and windy so every time the water picked up I was getting wet. Not very comfortable.)

Can't wait for your next update.

Well, I did send the text alert and you and I have solved the missing text alert mystery...gotta love modern technology! :thumbsup2

Oy, maybe they need some of those "Splash Zone" signs at F! like they have at the shows in Seaworld. :lmao: I do not like to get wet unexpectedly at all, so I feel for ya! :scared:

We may try F! again when the kids are older, who knows maybe it will someday make it back to the must do list. :confused3 We just need a break from it for now. :goodvibes

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I left the camera at home AGAIN today. All week I have intended to post pics from Gabe's birthday on here, and all week I have left my camera at home. I have to run home in just a few minutes to get the school supply lists I forgot as well since I plan to buy school supplies on my lunch break today...:crazy2: Remember how I had also promised to post lake pictures from last weekend? We forgot to take the camera with us to the lake as well... :mad: Yeah, I am a mess. :lmao: This is why I have to start planning our Disney trip MONTHS in advance! :rotfl: Anywho... :idea: I will pick up the forgotten camera when I pick up the forgotten school supply lists. So, I will be back later to post birthday pictures. :thumbsup2
We have another movie night this weekend...it's Alice in Wonderland night tomorrow night! :cool1: I DID start planning for that a month ago, so we SHOULD have it all prepped and ready to go...here's hoping. pixiedust:
Nope... That's why they totally have us...
Looking forward to the pictures, when you remember everything you need to. Would you like me to text you a list? :dance3:
D~
Thanks for your TR! Am enjoying it. We are considering a trip this upcoming Spring Break, and I'm so torn. It's been five years since we've been to DW, and I'm itching to go, but now that DS is in the higher grades and the make up work is so hefty, we've decided not to take him out of school anymore. So, that leaves Spring Break or the summer, and I think if I'm going to have crowds, at least with Spring Break I wouldn't have the summer heat/humidity. We hate crowds and we hate heat, but put them together and that's a recipe for disaster for this little family! Several times throughout your TR (and reading other's comments), I have told myself "there's no way we can do Spring Break!" but then I keep reading and tell myself that perhaps we can...:confused3
One question: were you there when the new Fast Pass rules had taken place? Just wondering how that would affect the Spring Break touring...
Nope... That's why they totally have us...
Yes, what was I saying earlier about the Disney stuff being top notch and one of a kind? :confused3Yeah, guess that applies to the delectable food offerings too! :thumbsup2
Got my camera, pictures coming up...:coffee:
So glad you are enjoying my TR! :goodvibes WELCOME! :flower3:
I totally agree with you that if the choices are Spring Break or summer, I too would go at Spring Break...hands down! ::yes:: The weather is a huge factor for us...hot weather creates cranky kids and cranky parents too. If the weather is cooler we can deal with the crowds better. Another mistake I feel we made this time was to follow the EMH crowds. I believe next time we will be doing whatever parks are NOT offering EMH's for any given day. I am hoping that this will help with the crowd problem immensely.
Yes, the FP rules were enforced the day before we arrived in March. In all honesty, this did not effect our touring plans since we had no idea we could have used those things after the time block was up! :rotfl2: If the FP said we were to come back between 10:15 and 11:15 that is just what we did. We had never done it any other way. We are just rule followers, what can I say? :lmao:
I say go for the Spring Break trip. Just do your planning carefully. You haven't been in 5 years, you are going to have a great time no matter when you go! :thumbsup2:cheer2::cool1:
Thanks for the encouragement! Could you please elaborate on your proposed new planning...I liked reading about what all you guys got done in those early morning/evening hours, so I'm confused as to why you say you'd change that...Help me, Obiwankonobi!! (I'm sure I butchered that spelling:thumbsup2)
And without further ado...
Let us eat cake:
I really had to have him pose for this AFTER the candles were blown out, because it happened so quickly I didn't get the shot. :lmao:
Brian and I read the book Treasure Island to the kids as our family summer read. A few weeks into the book Gabe declared that he wanted a peg leg. :sad2: Ummmm~ we are all about the costumes. He has a ton of them and plays in them constantly, but a peg leg? Where do you get a peg leg? :confused3 Well, Brian had ordered a part of our dishwasher online last week. Gabe snatched the box for it up and BEHOLD:
LOVE THIS KID!!! pirate:
love the birthday pics. Kids can find all sorts of uses for boxes that adults can't :) :thumbsup2
awe!! I'm so sorry your trip to 50's wasn't a good one :( Our server was SOOO funny!!! So they do have some good servers still. You'll have to go read about it on my Trip Report on my HS day. This guy was poking people on the head with a giant stick!! We had a hoot. That's odd that you even requested a funny server and didn't get one :( You'd think that they would be AWARE of which ones are more sedated and which ones are more likely to ham it up.
Gabes bday looked so perfect!! AWESOME cake!! VERY COOL bank!! and the peg leg looked perfect too! Hahahaha!!!
So True! That box is still around and still getting a lot of use! :thumbsup2
I think we must have visited 50's PT on a bad week. There were other Dis'ers that went that same week and had the same exact story to tell (D~). It's almost like they decided to "stick it to us" since we ASKED for a fun server...not cool! :sad2:
I will definitely go to your TR! :thumbsup2 Thanks for the kind comments regarding Gabe's birthday. It was low key, but we had gone to a theme park on the actual day of his birthday, so he definitely did not miss out on any fun! :goodvibes
ROFL - I agree - Jillian is totally sick of all the photos.
And I love your DH's "pinky up"... Perfect!!!
Hmmm.... I wonder what you have planned for Snow White?
I really want to start doing these movie nights - but where would I find the time? Sigh... I think the girls would have a blast with it though - and maybe I could even talk them into doing some of the research? LOL
D~
Another great movie night oopsi, I definatly see an idea or two that I want to copy.:thumbsup2
Oh by the way my kids all think Jillian looks a little crazy in her pictures (Aidan is actually scared of her at this point.):lmao::rotfl2: And Liam thinks that you DH is drinking his tea like a girl. Oh the things out of kids mouths.:lmao:
Can't wait to see what you guys do for Snow White. I can see mini food in your future. BwaaHahaha. (Didn't know I was phsycic did you?:rolleyes1:rotfl:)
I love and want her Mickey dressing gown.
We got that thing at WalMart on clearance for $10!!! :cool1: She wears it EVERY NIGHT after her shower...every now and then I have to tell her it stinks, put it in the laundry! :rotfl2:
D~ you should totally do movie nights! Your girls could plan and execute them with no problems. You don't even have to come up with the ideas on your own...there is a fabulous thread chock full of ideas. JUST DO IT!!!! :cheer2: Let me know if you want a thread link... :rolleyes1
I love the egg carton caterpillar craft! I think I might do that with my little guy this weekend while it rains. Thanks for that idea!
What!?! :scared1: Are you serious? :eek: I thought I was totally being original...:stir:
Go for it! Those are so much fun. I was a preschool teacher when my girls were little and I did caterpillars with my classes several times. :thumbsup2
So, I have failed to do another actual trip update this week. :sad2: I won't have a chance tomorrow or this weekend as our schedule is FULL! I am taking a half day off work tomorrow. Our church is hosting a marriage conference this weekend, and I volunteered to help with set up so that I wouldn't be called upon to help DURING the conference... :rolleyes1 That way Brian and I can just enjoy the conference and each other this weekend. :cloud9: The conference will be over Saturday evening, so I will TRY to upload our Day 6 pictures to Photobucket on Sunday.
I hope all my Disfriends have a wonderful weekend! :goodvibes
Oh what amazing updates! Even though I read them, I have Dory-brained and will probably forget some of the comments I noted in my head while reading. :sad2:
How amazing that you got picked for the IJ show!!!!!!!
Sorry that F! upset some of the kiddos. :guilty:
What great pics of you guys "pigging out" on junk at F! :lmao:
Love the theme nights! Such great ideas and it all looks amazing!
Happy belated Birthda to DS!!! The cake was great!
And other stuff that has escaped my brain. Someone keeps leaving the door open. :confused3
