Food, SQUIRREL, and When We Are Old...A March 2012 TR

Yum! Now I need to go to RFC....and the closest one to me is 2.5 hours away!

Well, it's a great "special occasion" place to go when you have something to celebrate...then you can sort of justify the drive. :rotfl:

Work is slowing down a bit now...I hope! :scared: Yesterday was by far the worst first day of class that I have experienced yet, and I have been here three years. :crazy2: I can now say I survived it. :faint:

I have a few minutes now to do this:

wait for it,

wait for it....

oh just scroll down to the next post!

DAY 6, MARCH 13, 2012

After another late night we slept in again. After getting up, having showers, and eating a quick bite we were ready to hit our next park...ANIMAL KINGDOM! We have never given this park the time and respect it deserves. We just really never knew that much about it and had not taken the time to explore it as we should have. Well, this time would be different. This time I had done my research (ahem...Disboards :scratchin) and had my must-do list ready to go! :thumbsup2

As we opened our door to head out...tragedy struck! :scared: There hanging on the outside of our door was what we all dread seeing. :guilty: There was our UN-magical Express packet. :sad1: Yes folks, today was our last full day in a WDW. :sad: We took the god-awful thing and tossed it in the room and closed the door on it as quickly as we could...we still had one more day of denial! :rotfl:

My notes are a bit sketchy for this day, so I am going to have to try to dig through all the useless crap in my brain to try to come up with this update...:sad2: By the time we made it to AK it was almost lunch time. After entering the gates we started collecting fastpasses right away. My notes do not say WHAT FP's we got first, so I don't have a clue. :confused3 Anywho, then we made a beeline for lunch at Flametree BBQ! Folks, this place gets rave reviews. This was our first time trying it and I am just going to add my own name to that never ending list of people who LOVE this place! SOOOOOOO Good!!! What makes it even better? This view:

Yes this picture was taken from our table! (insert missing cloud nine emoticon)

Here is another view from our table:
DSCN2427.jpg

Can I just be there right now? Oh how I miss my Disney this week. ::MickeyMo

After a truly finger licking good lunch we continued to collect FP's...then we headed over to Dinoland...and got more FP's. We parked our stroller in the giant stroller parking area between PW and TS. We had every intention of going on Primeval Whirl, but alas Gabe was not tall enough....and this created quite the meltdown. :sad: He is a brave little guy and really wanted to do the thrill rides this time. We assured him that he would get to go on EE later. We were able to calm him down, and we all decided to go on Triceritops Spin together. (How many Dumbo duplicates can Disney come up with anyhow? :lmao:)

After exiting TS, Brian went to get the stroller so we could move along to something else...Um...where is the stroller? :scratchin So we asked a CM about it since they tend to sometimes move them around. No, they didn't rearrange them... so where was it? :confused3 GONE! Our $15 umbrella stroller from Walmart was GONE, stolen! :scared1: Now, there were a TON of those strollers in the parks...everyone shops at Walmart. So we could have given the culprit the benefit of the doubt right? Mistaken identity, thought it was theirs, etc...except we had left our BRIGHT YELLOW ME tags with our name on it on our stoller! So yeah, it was a little hard to not believe someone just took it. :mad:

We finally decided just to get over it and move on. Gabe was five years old and this was probably the last year for a stroller anyhow and it was our last full day in a park...time to walk it Buddy! :goodvibes

We left Dinoland and headed to It's Tough to be a Bug. This was another first for us. While we had considered doing it during our March 2011 trip, we had decided against it due to some of the reviews that it could be frightening for young children. We decided to go for it this time, because far more reviews raved about what a great show it is. I wanted to take another picture of the kids that we could do every year to chronicle our Disney trips through the years:

DSCN2428.jpg

And then of course we had to get the obligitory bug eyes picture:
DSCN2429.jpg

Leaving ITTBaB (which we all liked a lot- no frightened children), we stopped to shop at a hat kiosk. Brian wanted to get a WDW hat. Well, while we were looking Charity found some things she wanted...only she had plunked down her entire souvie wad on her Pick a Pearl ring. :sad2: Brian and I had a little pow-wow and decided to get her baubles for her, because her birthday was the day after we were getting home from WDW. So here is our little girly-girl bling bling princess with her birthday purchases:

DSCN2430.jpg

She got the hat (that has a pink leopard print Minnie Mouse head on it) and she got the bracelet (the beads are colored Mickey heads). Let's just say she was one happy little princess after that. princess:

We finished making our purchases and wandered on...because it was time to start using up some of these bad boys:

And here is where I will leave you. Until next time America...

Awesome update!

How in the world did you manage to get so many FPS? You had to be timing those just perfectly.

Insert grouchy face for the stroller stealer.

Loves all the Disney bling for the birthday girl!

Yes, we must have definitely times those fast passes right because that was after the new FP time return enforcement was already in place. ::yes::

My girl loves her BLING!

luvin the updates :thumbsup2

Ah thanks! :goodvibesAnd thanks for still hanging around this never ended TR! :rotfl2:

Charity looks super cute with her new fashion accessories!!!

What's funny about Charity and her accessories is that she wears them NONSTOP when she first gets them....then tosses them in a corner or on her dresser or in her jewlery box and doesn't wear them for months! :headache: She wore that Minnie hat last night...and she had to wipe the inches of dust off of it with a wet washcloth. :crazy2:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well friends, I am getting Disney ants in my pants again. I just want to do SOMETHING Disney. Something besides Disboards, FB groups, Disney Parks Blog, allears.net, movie nights...well you get the picture. :rolleyes1 So, I have been on Pinterest finding t-shirt ideas, countdown ideas, new mousekeeping tip ideas...and I am about to drive myself CRAZY because next October is taking F-O-R-E-V-E-R to get here. :faint: I've got a BAD case of the Disney blues... :sick: :earsboy: :sick: Do any of you have some home remedies you can recommend for this ailment? :confused3
I've got the Disneyitus really bad too! I've been listening to park music on youtube- I especially like the background music from adventureland and from Epcot. It makes me feel a little bit like I'm there and helps me to clean the house faster!
Great idea! I usually listened to Disradio, but they tend to play the same things over and over...never thought to do youtube. :thumbsup2
I listen to Sorcerer Radio on Live365.com ...I love their mix of Disney Music!
Tomorrow night is Snow White movie night at the Sink home! :cool1: It is going to be a bit more low key. I had a hard time figuring out how to decorate for it. So I have a few things I am going to put on the table, but nothing elaborate at all. We have had such a busy schedule in the last few weeks that I think everyone is pretty tired and low key sounds good! Stay tuned next week to see the pictures and find out just what food I decided to serve... popcorn::
I hope all you my Disfriends have a wonderful weekend!!!! :goodvibes
wow! I can't beleive someone took your stroller :( I just shake my head and wonder how people get like that sometimes! Then like you did I get over it bc it's too sad to dwell on it. Thank goodness umbrella strollers are not all that costly hey?
Love DD's bracelet. I think it's the same one we brought back for my little niece. I loved it!!! and she did too but she lost track of it and hasn't worn it siince she got it :( I hope it turns up some day before she grows out of it.
Love the FP stash pic!! LOL. We always loved the feel of having a collection like that for when we returned into the parks later that day. SOOO sad we can't do it that way anymore :(
Can't wait to see what you come up with for Snow White. I can see how that would be a little tricky!
Looking forward to seeing pics of your Snow White movie night...
I haven't found a way to take care of the Disney blues yet - other than planning another trip... but I won't feel like we are actually going until we get some $$ saved. Supposed to start out ADRs for our next trip in 2 days, and I really wish Disney would give me FD...
NEXT WEEK???!!! I don't know if I can wait until next week...:lmao::rotfl2:
Yes I am an impatient soul!
I have had the Disney Blues for 4 years now (it has been that long since my last trip!)...dreaming of a new trip is the only thing that helps with it for me.
Have a good day...get to go play Disney style in a little bit!
Brian and I just shook our heads wondering...if they were going to snatch a stroller why wouldn't it have been one of the NICER strollers, why the $15 Walmart stroller?!? :confused3
Oh, let's talk about Charity's bracelet now...the week after we got home from Disney the kids spent the week at my Mom and Dad's house out of state. They went on a paddle boat and she dropped that lovely bracelet into the pond...never to be worn again. :faint:
That was the first time I had ever stacked FP's...it was fun! ::yes::
Stay tuned for a Snow White movie night update... popcorn::
Continue into next post for movie night update....
Saturday was our Snow White movie night. We had had a very laid back, relaxed day; so we actually enjoyed this one a lot more than some of the others we had had after hectic days. I didn't really go all out with the decorations, but I thought it still looked cute.
The invitation:
005.jpg
I had to get creative with the decorations since I had no idea at first what to do... (the "wishing well" was actually a piece from my nativity set :thumbsup2)
004.jpg
Since the story of Snow White is set in Germany, we had German food for dinner...and it was DELICIOUS!!! I wanted to serve Red Cabbage, but my grocer didn't have any in stock. :(
006.jpg
For activities the kids went "diamond mining" (marbles in rice):
008.jpg
And I made a Dwarf Memory Game...they played all together, then we timed them doing it individually to see who could make all the matches the fastest. They really enjoyed the game:
We had dessert while watching the movie, Apple Crisp with Ice Cream:
And our next movie night will be:
Yum that food does look yummy! I guess I never realized that Snow White took place in Germany :confused3 but it makes sense. Great idea for the "diamond mining"....Bradey would love that.
Yay! For Aladdin...one of my favs ::yes::
my 7 year old does the same thing!!!! Oh can't wait to see what you do foodwise for aladdin night!!!
Well, I read on the Dis movie night thread that Snow White was set in Germany...but since I am anal about that stuff I googled it just to make sure! :rolleyes1 The kids LOVED that activity. They played with it for several days....we tossed it after having to vacuum up rice from the carpet a gazillion times in three days! :headache:
Aladdin IS my favorite Disney movie...can't wait! :hyper:
Mmmmmmm...I have my Aladdin menu planned already! ::yes:: My BFF and her family will be joining us again for Aladdin. This will be their third time joining us for movie night. :goodvibes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So, I found a new way to cheer myself up from the Disney blues...I just went on Amazon and ordered a few random Disney items. :rolleyes1 I will be sure to post a picture when they arrive. popcorn::

COLOR]

wow!! i think that bracelet has a curse on it or something!!! Yours got lost and so did the one I brought back!!! LOL

The Snow White night was perfect!!! I LOVE the table set up with the wishing well and the whole forest theme with green leafy table cloth and flowers strewn. You did a great job!!

Coming in late to make it look good. :thumbsup2

Loved the wishing well from your Nativity scene - excellent idea!

The food looks marvelous! We live in a German town - so we get that a lot... LOVE it... Speaking of which - we should be having our sausage supper soon...

The activities you planned were perfect, and I love how Jillian is still wearing her robe. :rolleyes1

Can't wait for the Aladdin update!
