Food, SQUIRREL, and When We Are Old...A March 2012 TR

I love the pictures Oopsi!

Little Gabe looks a bit confused in the JTA?

And I love that PP pic riding whatever mode of Star Wars transportation the kids are riding - I have never seen that one before. Where is it? Other than by the Star Wars area...

Cute family photo - and I love the girls' bags (surprised I would notice a bag aren't-cha?)

D~

Great pictures of your DHS day.:thumbsup2

Thanks, Corri! :goodvibes

Thanks, D~! I think that racer thing is right across the path from the Star Tours dump shop...not sure. I had seen pictures with it, but had never actually spotted it until this last trip. I think it's a great photo op! :thumbsup2 Charity (being the girly girl that she is) wanted nothing to do with it. :laughing:

Believe it or not, I got those bags from the clearance shelf at Walmart for $10 each! :woohoo: They aren't D~ originals, but they withstood our abuse, and they are still in good working condition. Of course, I wouldn't let the girls keep them for IRL...they are put away for our next Disney trip! ::yes:: :rotfl:

They are called speeders (or speeder bike) and it is located right across from the Star Wars Store just as oopsi thought. It's the store you have to go through after you ride Star Tours. (I know, I am such a geek.:lmao:)

Hmmm.... We dumped right out into that store, but totally missed the speeders. Sigh. Next trip.

:)

The speeder is right outside the bathroom right there!

Well, there ya go D~! Hope you and the girls find them next time you go. It really is a cool photo op! :thumbsup2

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So Monday is my birthday, and I had only one request...Rainforest Cafe! :woohoo: My parents are coming into town to celebrate with me. We are having an early dinner at the RC in our Opry Mills Mall here. I get to have a Dismeet too!!! (Can't wait to meet you cajunfan!)
THEN~ we found out that the Nashville Zoo has a members night tomorrow night, so we get to go there after dinner. :dance3:
Of course, being the Disneyfreak that I am, I will be dreaming of being in WDW~ eating at the Rainforest Cafe, then walking one of the trails at AK! :earsboy:
I think it will be a great day, and will be sure to photodocument the occasion for my Disfriends. :goodvibes
May I take a few minutes to ramble? Yes? Thanks....
Last year I turned 40. I absolutely LOVED turning 40. It felt liberating beyond belief. I was able to finally just embrace myself for who I was and not for what I felt others wanted me to be...I no longer feel like I should dress with up-to-the-latest trends. I have embraced that my body will never be a size 6 again and that is okay. I have embraced that I don't have to be the best mommy on the block, just the best Mommy my kids need. Can you tell I LOVED turning 40? :lmao: It was THAT GREAT! :goodvibes
All that being said....turning 41 just seems blah. :guilty: I am not depressed to be turning 41...just blah. :confused3 I am glad my parents will be here, maybe that will make it a little better for me. Life is just slipping away so quickly for me now...
Okay, done with THAT! :crazy2: I hope everyone has a great weekend!!! :dance3:
Happy Birthday!!! party: (I kinda felt the same way about 31...:rolleyes: )
Why yes there is a Disney store there...it is a Disney Outlet, so a little different than a core store. I am a cast member there!
Can't wait to meet you and the family OopsieDaisy!:figment::banana:
Welcome to the party!!! :cool1: I hope you will stick around. I have only two more days of the trip to report, but when I wrap this one up I do believe I will be starting a PTR for our next trip!
I am so excited for you to get to do the Pirates cruise! It was truly one of our favorite moments of the trip...you will LOVE IT! pixiedust:
Lynn
Lynn, it was so great to meet you! I am incredibly sad, because I forgot to get a picture of us together!!! :sad: Brian had the camera...we were just so busy visiting with each other that it totally slipped my mind!
WOW! What a busy work week! This is in-service week at the university where I work...here is how I would describe it using emoticons: :crazy2: :sad: :furious: :eek: :headache: :scared: :faint: Now doesn't that look like fun, kids? :rotfl2::lmao:
On to happier things...my BIRTHDAY!!! party: For my birthday I requested only Rainforest Cafe and member's night at the zoo. The weather was perfection this past weekend. It turned out to be a great birthday celebration. My parents came into town to help us celebrate. :grouphug:
Our afternoon started with some shopping at Opry Mills. We visited the Lego store where both Charity and Gabe stocked up on some new sets (they both had their own money :thumbsup2). Charity and I went over to the "girly bling-bling" store for her to blow the rest of her wad on cheap costume jewelery. She was in heaven! ::yes::
After that it was time to dash over to our favorite store...the Disney Outlet!!! :earsboy: This was going to be more than just any visit to the Disney store...this was going to be a Dismeet! :hyper: When we went last time I tried to make the Dismeet happen, but this particular Dis'er (who happens to work at the Disney store) had the nerve to go on a lunch break right before we showed up! :rotfl: So this time, she and I both texted each other to MAKE SURE it would happen! ::yes:: I got to meet Cajunfan! I am sad to say we got to talking and visiting and I totally forgot to get a picture! :sad: We had a great time visiting! We got to talk and hang out for about 30 minutes. I will be sure to look her up every time I visit the Disney store from now on since I now know what she looks like. She is a great lady who has had the privilege of meeting lots of other Dis'ers. I look forward to spending many years in real life and Dis-life getting to know her better! :flower3:
After saying goodbye to our new friend it was time for some FOOD!!! We headed over to Rainforest Cafe. It was a great time with my family. I will just let the pictures do the talking:
I celebrated BIG...with steak, shrimp, ribs, cole slaw and caribbean rice. YUM!
Still celebrating...
Alas, I did not eat that entire dessert~we all shared it...promise! :rotfl:
Cont.'d in next post...
After our bellies were sufficiently distended from pigging out, we headed to the zoo. This was a great thing to do after eating so much since our zoo is spread out there would be plenty of walking... :thumbsup2
I forgot to point out that my great nephew came along with us, because his daddy was off to two week training with the National Guard. Anywho, here is a picture of all four kiddos taking a ride on the little zoo train:
009.jpg
It really was a cheesy little ride, it only went in a quarter mile loop. Jillian came back saying "I didn't see a single animal, ZERO!" :rotfl2: Oh well, it was free for members night. We made note NOT to pay the three dollars it normally costs to ride that silly thing. :crazy2:
We walked around and saw animals. We were able to see the big cats up pacing this time because it was feeding time. I asked Brian why he wasn't taking pictures. :confused3 "I have plenty of pictures of tigers from Animal Kingdom." Okey Dokey! :p
As I said earlier, the weather this weekend was DIVINE! We could not have asked for better weather for the zoo. As the evening came to a close, we did one more thing... we went to an animal presentation:
Wow~ these pictures all turned out blurry! :confused3 You would have thought that I was the photographer rather than Brian!:rotfl2:
And one last family photo before going home:
Ah~thanks! :goodvibes I really did have a great birthday despite my misgivings regarding turning 41.
I enjoyed pulling our Alice movie night together. Our next movie night is going to be a bit more downplayed...mostly because I am having a hard time coming up with decorating ideas for Snow White. :confused3
I really am sorry about not texting with this update. This week has been CRAZY at work! :faint: It took be about 3 hours just to get the update done since I kept being interrupted by folks needing things from the secretary. :headache: What is wrong with people bothering ME when they need stuff from the administrative assistant? :confused3 Oh wait...I am the admin assistant... :rolleyes1
Yes, my birthday was Monday, so you were actually on your way home from Charlotte. No biggie. I had a great one!
Did you see that big old plate of food I had as an entree? I ate most of it.... :rolleyes1 That dessert was HUGE!!! It actually had a big mound of ice cream, surrounded by THREE big slices of this heavenly fudgy cake, topped with a huge dollop of whipped cream that was drizzled with caramel and chocolate. And the little sparkly "Wand" I am holding in the picture was sticking out of the top of it. :cloud9: I totallly should have gotten a picture of it BEFORE we dug in. :rotfl2:
