The car locations are generally listed as Cocoa Beach or Titusville...all just a few minutes from the port. Each one I checked had free shuttle to/from port. Budget is closest, but had NO cars available on our return day, so I went with Thrifty. Ditto, Avis had none available. I waited till about 6 weeks before cruise hoping for valid discount coupons/codes. My lesson is to book the car in advance--if you then find a discount, they will apply it.
And, yes...Port Canaveral and Cape Canaveral are very close to each other.
Just in case it helps...for some reason Port Canaveral as a rental car station sometimes appears as "CC5". That's its code...if you search AAA for instance, for some rental companies it will say there's no rental car outlet in Port Canaveral when there actually is.
