Checked in yesterday. I can confirm that one of the 60s buildings is currently under refurb. I’ve circled it below if I find other buildings, I will comment on them during our stay.

If there’s any work being done in the lobby, I could not tell. It all looked completely normal yesterday.

Libby renovations were scheduled to begin Monday so you may see more evidence as your trip progresses.

When are you going @Craig Larson? I am requesting Building 6 for my end of August trip and I'm wondering how long they are taking to get each Building done before they move on to the next.

The unknown is if Building 5 has already been renovated. We received a report in the beginning of the room renovations that some of the rooms in Building 5 were closed for renovation but we haven't received any more information so it's hard to tell if the information was correct or not. If Building 5 has not been done, you should be fine to request Building 6 at the end of August. If Building 5 has been completed, they may have moved on to Building 6.

Is there anyone who has stayed in Building 5 in June or July of this year? IF so, had the room been renovated? Was there a blue carpet imprinted on the floor?

Building 4 started it's renovation in July so there is a possibility some rooms may be complete and re-opened in August.

Buildings 1 and 2 are complete. We’re not sure about building 3 but I would anticipate it’s done or almost done.

Status of Refurbishments are being tracked in this thread. The challenge with updating the thread is we’re at the mercy of guests reporting their findings.

I think I’m going to add a post to Pop that one up in the forum and see if anyone has experiences to share.

Our family stayed in building 5 on July 4th and it was a renovated room. It had the Murphy bed . It was our first time staying at Pop Century... we loved it.

My family had 3 rooms in Building 4 (4401 - 4403) when we stayed July 8 - 15 and they weren’t refurbished yet. We did see that practically the whole other half of the building was blocked off and being refurbished. Additionally, the elevators were also being updated so it was very hot in there and sometimes the construction workers doing the refurbishment controlled them manually, especially during the day when they needed them.

My bad. After checking photos from the trip, it turns out our room did not have the painted carpet or the mickey curtain, so not updated with latest change. Sorry for the confusion.

So the building I circled is building 4 and I asked the worker this morning if they do the entire building at the same time and they said yes.

We are in building 3 and I can confirm that our connecting rooms are updated with the new decor. If they do the entire building at one time, then I assume the entire building three is done

There is a good chance it will be finished. At the current pace, buildings are taking 4-6 weeks to complete and we had first reports of a wing building 4 being shut down as of July 4th. Hoping it is finished between mid-late Aug.


Also, contrary to some information, there have been many reports of refurbishments starting just one wing of a building prior to the entire building being closed for renovations. This has been reported for 3/4 buildings so far so we know they sometimes start with just one wing at first.

Here is one of a few such reports:

Checking in again - heading out to dinner at Steakhouse 71 and hopefully a view of some of the MK fireworks from the Contemporary (back to the rental car so I will check on buildings 1-3 more carefully) but the entire short section of Building 4 - if you look at it as a T on the map, it's the shorter section - the vertical part of the capital T if you will, rather than the horizontal part, if that makes sense - is completely closed off on floors 1-4. We checked all 4 floors to be sure. We are fighting a TON of rain today, so we didn't get around to as much of the resort as I wanted, but our walkthrough overall really only showed Building 4, although with today's holiday, no one was working.

I requested a room in building 4 through Touring Plans, in hopes that it is complete by mid September when we go. I usually request building 5 but I have a feeling that it may be worked on at that time, so I changed to building 4.

I did the exact same thing but were visiting in mid-August so guessing i may not get our request if 4 isn’t quite ready when we arrive and 5 will be just starting. The good thing is I’ll definitely be able to update the thread for you prior to your arrival.

Guessing both of our first choices of buildings will be unavailable during our visit so not sure where we’ll end up? (As if we really have a voice as we all know Disney has the final say. )
