We are leaving for our first disney cruise soon and I'm not sure how the whole fish extender works. How many gifts do you give? Do you give something every day or just 1 time?

Have you joined your "cruise meets" thread? Each cruise group sets their own guidelines for the fish extender gifts, but it's pretty much a one time thing.

It really is up to you and what you feel comfortable with. It would also depend on your budget, what you have time to make or get, and how much space it will take in your packing. We are on an upcoming cruise, and we have an FE group of 22 cabins. So, I've decided to do two gifts. One will be an individual gift for each person on the list, and the other is one per cabin. Just remember that it's supposed to be fun, so don't stress too much about it.
