Forgive my ignorance, but buying a bottle of Asti sounds good to me ( I only like the GOOD stuff ;) ) anyway, are you talking about drinking in the room, or can you go to the sail away party w/the bottle.. I'm thinking that's a big no-no, but all I'm picturing is everyone in their rooms w/bottles of liquor drinking alone, and that would be sad :guilty: ..

You cannot bring a bottle of wine/champagne/liquor to the dining room or you will be charged a corkage. You can ask for glasses from any of the bars or restaurants. You can bring your drinks with you around the ship. They do have a problem though if you have an open glass bottle on the open decks (for breakage reasons). We usually open our Asti in the room and take our glasses up on deck for the sailaway party. We usually pour the rum in our glass in the room and then go up to the drink station for the diet Coke.

Edited to add: We have had open bottles in areas around the ship (Preludes Lounge, Secret Deck 7) and it wasn't a problem, but I would guess up by the pools, they will have an issue with it. On the Panama Canal Cruise someone broke a glass in the adult pool.

Thanks for the info Tracy. It might not be a bad idea to bring a couple of plastic champagne fluets to reduce the risk of breakage. I'll just get a couple beers and re-use those cups for my vodka/diet.

I might want some lime for my drink. Can we bring produce/citrus aboard?

How is everyone?? I am in panic mode trying to get everything done :scared:

DH and I are doing our shopping tomorrow night after we go to dinner for his birthday. Soooooo that means I haven't done my shopping yet, let alone any wrapping. Oh well, it's the Year of the Gift Card.

According to their website, this is the closest ABC Store to WDW resorts:
11951 SO. APOPKA-VINELAND RD
Closes @ 11pm on Saturday
Doors open @ 9am on Sunday

Thanks!
Of course this causes a dilemma for Sat- Kristen does not arrive until 6:30pm, I am waiting for her at the airport- we will then head to dolphin to check in quickly- then to poly for our pre-cruise drink fest and wishes! Arent we meeting at 7:30?? what time is wishes that night? We may have to run after our meet to buy our wine- Hmmm

May park hours haven't been posted yet, but it's planned for 1 hour before Wishes.

If you don't mind the soda cups, they are free at the drink station. Also we have been known to keep the cup after we get a drink of the day at the pool (large plastic tumblers). If you bring glasses other than the water glasses in your room to your room, your cabin steward will leave them there unless you ask them to take them away.

NO PRODUCE!!!! Absolutely no fruit or vegetables cannot be brought onboard or off of the ship by guests. I'm sure you could go to one of the clubs and ask for limes. As you know if you read my first blog, we bring ziploc bags. I get lime or lemon wedges from from servers at dinner and bring them back, put them in a baggie and put them in the cooler. Problem solved!

I don't think you want to pay the fine for getting caught with this. Anyway, there is mint onboard. You may be able to sweet talk some from one of the bartenders.

Sorry I went missing again. My grandma got to come home. She is doing OK. I think we were very lucky this time. I am done with school for a month (I got A's in both my classes!!) So I have a lot more time for DIS'ing. If I could only have internet access at work. LOL.

JEN!! We may have a change of plans that may include us flying in either Friday or Saturday morning but we would be renting a car so the liquor run would still be on.

Becky

I'm happy to see your grandmother is home. Being home always makes you feel better.

Congratulations on the A's!

No worries about a liquor run. We can always catch a cab if you have other plans. Please don't worry about it, it's vacation! WooHoo!:thumbsup2
