Good thing I have a heater in my office, it thawed my brain enough to think about...
:beach: :boat: :cake: :drinking1 :sail: :drinking: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :fish:

oh yeah and

141 days until "Fun on a Boat!"

Here's another cruise related question - what is the communication situation like on the boat? My dd's will be home w/my parents, I have this fear of not being able to be in communication w/anyone once we get on the ship. I think we will be bringing our laptop, so I'm guessing we can email from the designated areas, but, it's just that "what if" situation where I would need to either call them or they needed to call me..

Page 27 had the ship phone number if they need to call you. If you need to call them you can from your room or use the internet.

Calling is really expensive from the ship though...so if you use your cell phone, I think it's better to call from shore (but I'm sure Tracy can give us the 411).

Hey Todd -- Our city is pretty much in a lockdown today as well. We have some extreme weather conditions and the roads are iced over with colder temps moving in this afternoon/tomorrow. All the schools are closed. DH made it in to work, but it's going to be very rough going for him to get home.

Over 8 inches of snow so far. Schools, businesses, activities all shut down in and around the city. My hubby drove in to work though. My commute isn't far so I had no trouble (just had to climb down the stairs LOL). I gotta go out and shovel soon (snowblower). In the last hour we've gotten another inch.

They can call you at 1-888-322-8732. They will need to have a credit card available as it must be paid this way. It is $7 a minute for the call.

Most carrier's cell phone work on the ship. Here is the brochure http://www.wdwinfo.com/Photos/DCL-Navigators/5-26-07-Med-Misc/pages/Cell Phone Brochure p1.htm. The rate is around $2-3 a minute but make certain you activate international calling (not an international calling plan) before you go. Usually when it is activated, you need to have a connection to the cell service so if you wait, you won't be able to use your cell phone onboard or on the islands.

Keep in mind though if you leave your cell phone on and anyone calls you, whether or not you answer, you will be charged the roaming fee.

The WiFi this time was much, much improved, but it could be that the ship was less full. I was able to use the laptop without problem in the cabin anytime I tried but once when it was very slow. There are computers in the Promenade Lounge in the Internet Cafe area. The prices are 75 cents a minute when you pay per minute, but there are packages as well. Here are the prices http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/cr-internet.htm. I agree with Regina when we were on the 5 night cruise, but my experience on the last cruise was nothing like that. I don't know if they added access points or improved the signal strength or what, but it was very much better.

Todd and you others in the cold tundra be careful driving home! We had ice last week here in TX and it was a mad house. imagine texans trying to drive on ice....:rotfl: :lmao:

I think i will invest in some good plastic champagne flutes and maybe a nice insulated mug to use the whole trip for my mixed drinks!!

wow you guys think of everything- even a baggie for limes from the bar! I would be lost without all this info. :confused3 :thumbsup2 or even worse, sober! :rotfl2:

No ice here today! I actually woke up to rain pounding on the windows! The sun's shining...it's still cold, but the ice is melting. :yay:

There will be no soberness on this cruise...well, for me anyway...:rotfl:

The bars usually sell insulated mugs for only about $3-5 each. We used to do this all the time and now we have a bunch of little reminders of our cruises. This was great for coffee in the morning or soda in the afternoon (mixed with some rum if you want!). I have only once brought plastic champagne flutes (one bottle of Asti fits in two of the insulated mugs!). Otherwise, I have had glass ones from the ship and it wasn't a problem.

75 here in Dallas today. But back to the teens by the weekend, crazy weather!

no baby or DH, so no soberness for me either! :thumbsup2 I just noticed the symbol on your cruise ticker is a martini glass.....:rotfl: man, i am a cheap date, i need to start working on my tolerance to keep up with you professionals!

The snow has now up to the bumper of my car. A snow drift has accumulated outside one of my window that resembles an emergency exit slide from an airplane. We have to open the front door every 20-30 minutes otherwise there will be too much snow to open it. And its not done yet. :sad2::guilty: I really need to reconsider this. I think I will learn to live with alligators, hurricanes, and old people poorly driving around in sandals and knee socks.

Yeah, that snow is coming my way. They've pre-salted the roads, closed the state colleges/universities early, closed all the state offices (even the unemployment office, much to my chagrin!), put up the parking bans, starting to let everyone out early...and not a single snowflake yet! But, we expect a foot or more, so better safe than sorry.

Why did I come back from Florida, exactly? Wasn't it just day before yesterday that I was swimming in my own private pool, complaining that it was just a little too warm to wear socks?

It's been snowing a good clip at my house for the past hour Mindy. Should reach you between now and 3pm if not already. :santa:

Thanks for all the info Tracy - I will give my parents the number you listed above.
