I stand corrected, it does state not in cooler. So I guess the next step is to get a rolling suitcase for my liquor?
That's what I do.
Hmmm. Does makes us sound like lushes? Not luscious, lushes.![]()
I'm sorry...could someone refresh my memory as to whether or not alcoholic beverages can be purchased on Sunday. We really don't drink a whole lot (especially the "hard" stuff -- but I like the sound of Tracy's Asti tradition and would like to pick up a bottle as well). I was actually thinking of going by Patrick AFB as DH is retired military and we could get some things there since we'll have a rental car.
Florida's Liquor Laws vary from county to county and city by city. Over all its safer to buy liquor before Sunday, as it is not available before noon, except in Miami. Liquor and beer/wine are sold at different locations. You can pick up beer/wine at a grocery store or gas station. Liquor must go through a state authorized retailer. Most liquor stores close before 11pm.
Go to an "ABC Liquor" for spirits, during the daylight hours except on Sunday.
Publix or a gas station (I don't understand that--that's illegal here. Doesn't that encourage you to drink and drive?) is the place to get beer and wine, up until 2am.
Don't plan on partying it up at the bar past 2am.
Thanks Todd...that's just what I was looking for. Our flight doesn't get in until 11pm, so by the time we get the rental car and head for our hotel at the port it will be too late to go to any state run liquor stores on Saturday. Military bases usually don't have to adhere to the same state/local laws, so I'm hoping we will still be able to buy some adult beverages on Sunday.
We will most likely have a rental car so we'll be hitting the liquor store on Saturday. Probably on our way from the airport to the Dolphin...![]()
No, not at all. I bring a bottle of Asti for sailaway. It's tradition, we have done that on every cruise. We also bring a bottle of rum since my husband drinks rum and diet coke. We get the diet coke at the drink station and save a few bucks in the bar.
Okay, since we are talking about it. What is the closest and cheapest place to WDW where we can buy alcohol?
According to their website, this is the closest ABC Store to WDW resorts:
11951 SO. APOPKA-VINELAND RD
Closes @ 11pm on Saturday
Doors open @ 9am on Sunday

It has been awhile since we were stationed at Patrick, but as I recall, the Class VI is in the Shoppette and is open on Sunday, no problem.
What branch of service did your DH retire from? Mine is retired AF.
if i remember correctly from my college program days about 12 years ago- that walgreen's by Vista Way right off 535 after you go under 1-4 also sold liquor- i remember seeing those small bottles there, when i ugh went for a prescription, yeah, that's it. maybe it has changed since a real liquor store opened though. This ABC is the one frequented by many College Program participants...(not that I know from experience or anything....) If you go out Hotel Plaza Boulevard and turn right, go under the freeway it'll be on your left in less than a 1/4 mile. It is next to a Walgreen's Drug Store.
