Fireworks Dessert Party

Really? I called early December to ask what the hold up was. Oh well. I feel like the more I research it, it isn't for me. I don't want to fight people for a position to view the fireworks at a paid party!

I'm sure someone will cancel. What date are you trying to get this party?

I'd probably do it again, but not every trip. It was a great view. The desserts were nothing special-kinda bland and lame.

We've had our reservations for mid June for several weeks now. I don't know for a fact the exact window, but I believe it's 180. It is incredibly popular, there was 1 day out of our 7 day trip open and we booked around the 120 day mark.

We've done the Illuminations dessert party which is nearly twice the price of Wishes and won't ever book it again. However, we want a nice viewing area and refuse to put ourselves in that crowd again due to problems last trip. I'm hoping that just having the smaller number of people there will make it easier. For the price, I'm willing to try it.

We are going to try and get fp+ as well. The view looks amazing from the new fp+ section so we're anxious to give that a shot.

We love it and I was able to book for late April probably 150 days ahead. They don't seat enough people that you have to "jockey for position" on the railing. They also have a photo pass photographer that takes wonderful photos with the lit up castle as the backdrop.

Another positive...we are not in the middle of the herd when the fireworks are done...we can go into Tomorrowland and leisurely make our way out behind it.

Oh, everyone that I hear comment about it says that everyone rushes to the railing and it makes it hard for everyone to see. :confused3 Now I don't know what to believe.

It does sound nice to get the photo pass photo, however.

We're doing the party for the first time on June 4th. Looking forward to not fighting the crowds for a spot. :thumbsup2

I had 7 kids and we were part of a party of 19 the last time we were there...everyone was easily able to see the fireworks except the little guy who fell asleep. We put our kids in front of us at the railing, the railing is big enough that there might be two rows at a few spots.

Tinker bell "flies" almost right to you, which is pretty cool. She lands somewhere on the roof above you.

I love it for the relaxing nature of the whole thing...there are few things more stressful to me than a packed Main Street with my small kids. This guarantees us a good view of the castle show and fireworks without that stress. The desserts and coffee are excellent too.

I have done the party four times and will continue to book it when I can in future. I go because it's much more relaxed than shoulder to shoulder in Main Street. Everyone goes to the rail but it's not a rush and there's a spot for everyone. CMs encourage you to go to the rail, the tables are for desserts many do not have a view due to the tomorrow land terrace ceiling overhang. My avatar was taken at the dessert party so that's the view, a little off centre but a great view of Tink!!! Feb 2015 was my latest party, the desserts seem to have improved and the CMs did a great job of ensuring everyone experienced the party. so in my opinion well worth trying to get a reservation if you can.

We did the Wishes dessert party earlier this week. Thought not having to stake out a spot for fireworks with 2 small kids was great! The desserts were good (not great), typical Disney buffet desserts. There was no photo pass photographer there the night we went. Would I do it again? Possibly.

After July 4th as a PP said is not available yet. CM on the phone said dates just haven't been released. Rumors abound about major changes to this experience, but nothing solid. The CM said you just have to keep calling and checking.

so is there a secret to booking it. I have not found a slot during any of our 6 day stay in May.

I think I lucked out - I decided in the end of January of beginning of February to test my luck and see if they had May 6 open, and I got it for 10 people!

I had been trying for quite awhile to get a reservation for myself and my husband. Then I read on another feed on here that it is near impossible to get a reservation for 2 as they only have like 1 or 2 tables at each event designated for 2 people. So I went back on the disney site and put in 3 people and a time showed up! Guess I'll pay for 3 people; it's during our 15th anniversary trip so it's worth it to us!

We simply booked for 4 since that was all that was available for May, then called and cancelled 2. No problem doing so, and the agent laughed and said it happens often.

You are supposed to go to the railing- most of the tables do not have a view because you are under the cover at the restaurant. The railing is large and everyone should have room to see.

We have done it once- when it was less expensive. We have not done it again because we don’t feel it is a value for us- we prefer to watch the fireworks from Splash or BTMRR. If you want to see the fireworks and not compete for a spot, your choices are this or FP+. Either is a good option.

Do have an idea about what the speculation is regarding possible changes? Just curious.

We've done it twice and loved it both times (even though one time it was so foggy we couldn't see half the fireworks). I HATE worrying about getting a good spot or worrying about someone getting in front of me and obstructing my view. If you do it, no matter what your reservation time says get there a little before 1 hour before wishes starts-- they will let you into the area >1hour before wishes and start serving desserts an hour before the fireworks start. We learned from experience that it is frustrating to have to wait in line to get in while the party is taking place.

And as other people mentioned, people do get up and stand by the railing for the show. You just have to accept that, and know that at least if you're standing, it's for less time than if you were in any other area waiting, and at least you have some pretty tasty desserts to keep you company

I just posted about this. For May 23 it shows sold out for me for 6 pm (only time option offered). Isn't the fireworks at like 9pm?
