Finding Nebo, Yes THAT Nebo, not the fish!

One more thing or two.

Colleen, I am sorry about your dog, now it's time to start over again,,,

And more importantly , Monica, I don't know if you got the results yet, but of course you have been in our prayers. Let's hope those spots on Tim's ribs are from the fall off the ladder. My buddy Kurt, that I just mentioned earlier about playing golf with, had to have a biopsy recently and they took out most of his rib as well. Now, he's pissed, it was benign, but he thought couldn't they find another way to do it without invasive surgery? Ok, I'll shut up now, goodnight all.

You know, funny thing, I had to read it 3 times to see what they needed to "catch". So, tell me your worst "customer", I want to know if you ever put any kind of "special" sauce on a BM cuz you couldn't stand them.
C'mon, give,,,,

No, sorry, no "special" sauce (not to say I didn't want to), but here goes, you asked for it:
One night about 30 minutes after closing I am in the office counting the $$'s and telling the confusers good night, I hear this pounding on the window. So I poke my head out expecting to see one of our people's ride wanting them off early..... nope it was a female in her late 20's standing at the d.t. window outside her car pounding on the window. I give her my best "We're closed" signal (no nothing bad!) and she looks at me like I'm from Mars, so I open the window (yea it's against our policy) and I tell her we are closed, and she starts getting upset and asks me who it was that had just taken her order? What? no, sorry, we are closed and nobody could have taken your order.(this is the point I realize that she's 3 sheets to the wind) At this point she starts to try to climb in through the window, naturally I try to stop her by pushing her back out by her face. Her next tactic is to bring me out, by my tie, no sorry not coming out. As I pull back she comes in at me, so I decided it was time to shut the window- on her head..... yep, not once, not 2, but at least 3 times it was slammed on her head. I had told one of the crew members to dial 911 when she started to come in the 1st time... when the police got there they chased her down and brought her back to the store and asked me if I wanted to press charges, no I think she'll be in enough pain tomorrow when she wakes up.

sorry it was so long, but anyway :hippie:

Marita, I can't wait for that either. It would be strange to actually have to consider the "height" requirements for the rides, but I think by that time,,,,,
I won't have shrunk too much.

Hi Missy, youngsters often have a problem with the "S" letter, remind me in the future to tell you about my speech class.

Future as in "time travel"? ;) Sounds like another funny story coming :cool1:

Mishy, I have the entire set of the original Star Trek, but I never got into any of the sequels. More on time travel coming up.

:cool2: I would love to have those, another thing to add to our DVD collection. I never got into any of the other sequels either, just couldn't live up. Speaking of "more on time travel" I also love Quantum Leap! Love Scott Bakula but couldn't get into The Star Trek sequel he did either :confused3

mishy, a little known time travel movie that Smidgy mentioned is "Disaster in Time". It's cool, starring a young Jeff Daniels. It's kinda mysterious in the beginning, has a little bit too much of a formulaic ending, but way cool in the middle, when the mystery in the beginning is explained. When I first rented the movie, it had a different name, now, I think it goes by Disaster in Time.

Another one to add to our DVD collection. We don't rent :snooty: just wait for really good sales :upsidedow

Ok, you got me,,,, MELINDA. And you are right, as Patrick would say, "moron here." But the really scary part is that I considered using the abbreviations for "easy Peasy,,,," when I first read it,,,,, you know, use it in my witty, sarcastic reply, not realizing that, THAT was what it was. And then I forgot about it by the time I got to posting. Ok, that had to be confusing, and I'm not even going back to edit it,,,,,

Shawn, that was great stuff! There is a little bit of me that goes out to the girl, drunk as she may have been. My son had a party at home one friday night, and I sat at the computer, which is right by the door, checking out who was coming, and who going. And, whilst I was doing that, playing Ultima 6, I was also consuming many beers. As the party wound down around midnight, I asked Smidgy to call McDonald's to see if it was open, and they told her it was.

I drove over there, ever so cautiously, parked in the lot and went up to the door. As I was doing this, a police cruiser decided that this was a great time to make the rounds here, and watched the whole thing. I knew I was dead meat. 3 blocks back down the road, and only 2 blocks from my house, he pulled me over.

The first words out of my mouth before anybody spoke, was, I'been specting youse. No, I'm kidding, but I did say first off " I was expecting you."

After all the liscense and insurance exchanges,,,,, he turned out to be a sweetheart. "Mr. Nebo, I see you only live a couple blocks away, and I will follow you there, yes, I caught a break, cuz I know I was over the limit, so when I pulled into the driveway, I asked him in for a beer. (ok, kidding about the last part.) It turned out the person who answered the phone neglected to tell Diane that ONLY the drive thru was open.

Is that an Arlo Guthrie reference?

"Alice's Restaurant"

"YOU can get any thing you want,,,,,,at Alice's Restaurant." No, you are too young to know that, and it's not like that's a movie they play on AMC. You made that up.

Congrats to Grampaw Nebo and Granny Smidgy on the arrival of your little princess: !!!

Thanks M and Ms, now I want to hyperspace about 5 years and be standing there on Main St., holding them as Wishes starts.

Ok, this part didn't come through, but glad you liked the "shrinking nebo" line Marita. See what I mean about the "surprise" punchline being so good when you don't see it coming? But if that's ALL you do, folks catch on, and there's nothing worse than tipping a joke off ahead of time. Marita, you have met me, and you know that I am much more shy in person, (especially when right before our meeting Diane was trying to rub mysterious blood off of my shirt.)
Yes, that can kinda make you shyer. shier. a shyster. But, as you can all tell, I'm not quite so shy in front of my keyboard.

No, I am a snobby purist when it comes to Star Trek. But when Smidgy is working at night, it gives me a chance to stick in the originals,,,,, I still love the OK Corral episode.

First off, I never noticed any blood stains! and secondly, I am the same way, I am not a big talker IRL, I talk more online. And thirdly, that day I was in a real rush, unfortunately. Under normal circumstances, I would have ordered ice cream, really! (Really, I can afford it! I feel so cheap now, LOL!)
But nonetheless, it was a great pleasure to meet you and Smidgy and Collleen and her son! And really, that was the point, wasn't it? Not the eating stuff part.

you're right on one thing! they are so much fun when they start DOING something!!! now that our oldest is staying with us, we get to see his almost 3 year old son just about every weekend (a LOT more than when he was married!!) (um, when the son was married, NOT the grandson:lmao: ) and he is SO MUCH FUN! (um, the grandson, NOT the son) but.. I don't wish he would sit down and be quiet, but that's cause I see him just a bit, and have to go to work. now NEBO, trying to make out bills, balance the checkbook, etc. while Jackson is climbing up on his seat, probably wishes he would sit still!

the bath thing? like I posted earlier, jackson LOVES to run around naked!!! (did he get that from his grandpa?:rotfl: ) ok, now that I put THAT picture in all of your heads, I wish we could all see nebo's face turn crimson when he reads this! (he really is shy, beleive it or not, when he isn't behind a keyboard) kinda an "aw shucks" kinda guy.

so I finally have a grandaughter, and I'm ALREADY wishing it was 2-3 years from now:confused: does that make sense? but I do love babies too. nebo was trying to take a pic of me standing, holding Kaylee, and said "Stop rocking and swaying so I can get a picture!" and at least she doesn't wipe off my kisses!!!!(or... rub them in!)

Hi All,

I think now that my girls are going to be 12 and 14.... I do wish sometimes they would sit down and be quiet..... lol

If they had when they were little I wouldnt have some have some of the great stories I have...:goodvibes

When Tori was about 4 ... her father and I asked what she wanted for dinner.. she said Shut up Doggies.... her father looked at me... and was like what does she want? ..... I said Long John Silvers.... Hush Puppies...:rotfl:

When her father was babysitting.. I came home asked how the babysitting went... he said good.... I walked down the hallway and found "pads" all over the wall... she thought they were stickers..

And my youngest Dani.... walking all over Disney... in response to every question in the affirmative..... she would say.... Yepity doo dah;)

So, I am glad they didnt sit down and be quiet... a lot less memories:woohoo:

I am so happy for the two of you..... Grandbabies must be wonderful!! I am in NO hurry.... but I wlll look forward to having a grandbaby someday... I will spoil the heck out of them and give them back to their parents:dance3:

Write on my friends..... write on!

Yeah, I know you didn't make it up. Alice's Restaurant was definately a "period" type movie, along with Easy Rider, and Woodstock. And not a very good one at that. But back then, the sign outside of McDonalds only said 8 billion served. "

Hi Bee, good stuff, and your time will come. And hopefully, when it's ready.

I was thinking about our meeting with Marita and Colleen, and yes, Colleen did catch Smidgy trying to rub out the dried blood on my shirt, but she didn't know it at the time. Anyway,,,,, we enjoyed this meeting a whole bunch,,,,,, which leads me to my topic here,,,,,, my thoughts on DISmeets!

It is really simple as a matter of fact. Meet the people that you have been talking with! Don't make the mistake that we did. Heard there was a DIS meet at the Pop when we were staying there, but didn't really know any of the Dissers. That was when about the only recognition we got was when a woman thought I was ZZUB.

I was about half way thruough my first trip report then, and Smidgy tried to tell folks who we were. Somehow he came up, and I happened to mention that I have read him too. Then this mistaken identity blew up and I couldn't get a word in edgewise. There was no stopping her. So I gave up.

When she asked me for my business card in case she ever needed a lawyer cuz she also lives in the south, I believe I gave her my Aquarium Lodge Minnow Swallower's card. Not sure, but I can't find it anywhere. Then we walked away and joined another smaller group that was also being ostricized.

Now THEY were fun to talk to. Funny thing, that was in Sept. of 06, when we were there in Sept. of 07, we were sitting by the pool bar when a guy walked up. "I think I know you two. Diane, right?"

Yah, he was there in OUR little group the year before, and it was nice talking to him again. But for the main orginizers of the group? You can have them, and I won't give out the name.

However,,,,,,,,I can speak for both of us here, the Poly meet was a gas,,,,in one form or another, we knew just about everybody there, so it was more like a "High School Reunion" then a blind meet. We have also driven to Port Orleans in a blinding thunderstorm to meet Jaime and Rhonda, and had a terrific time. I also consider Patrick a friend for life,,,,, I may never see him again, but I WILL try to stay in contact. (that would be Disneydad99 for those not quite up.) We met Jill and John and Kim at the MUsic, and ended up spending much of the week together, I'm just sorry we couldn't get together with them this year at Cedar Point.

Plus, we didn't have a meet set up, but we knew we would be at the same resort at the same time, and ran into Longneck3 and her clan at Port Orleans in December. That turned out nicely also.

So, in summary, meets can go just great, IF you have been corresponding before hand. Even now, I'm wondering (and caring) , if Wendy sold her home yet. Or if Melinda will ever stay at another resort besides Riverside. These are all people that we have met, from the Dis, and I, and Smidgy, care about each and every one of you. As I'm sure Marita does, since she has met many of the same folks. This is not to say you have to meet in order to make it "real", cuz I couldn't begin to name all the folks I would still love to meet that I have been following from my trip reports,,, and here.

JUst avoid the "random" group meetings, there WILL be a core group, and you will feel left out. Ok, just my thoughts, IMHO.

hugs, nebo:love:

I've been able to meet 4 diser's and it's always been alot of fun. 3 of them I didn't even have to go to disneyworld to meet!

Hi All,

When Tori was about 4 ... her father and I asked what she wanted for dinner.. she said Shut up Doggies.... her father looked at me... and was like what does she want? ..... I said Long John Silvers.... Hush Puppies...:rotfl:
Bee

"shut up doggies!" ... "hush puppies" THAT is JUST hilarious!!!:lmao:
ITA - I believe it stands for "I totally agree"

thank you, monica!

DIS MEETS. I agree with Nebo.(somewhat) it's fun to meet up with fellow dissers, but we didn't "know" any of them at the first meet. (actually, there WERE a couple that had heard of Nebo, but that was early on in his trip reporting)

but it was GREAT FUN!!:yay: to meet up with people we had already been talking to. and... it wasn't like "I finally get to meet you"... it was like... "we already know you... and... here you are!!:dance3: ' and nebo is right... there are SO many of you we know already. and I can't WAIT TO see you in person!!! (if only to ask mony how to zoom on my camera) and see if there are ANY winkers WITHOUT red hair!
I know you're all tired of hearing it, but we WILL live there someday!! and we will have a great big barbeque dis meet in our YARD!!!! really, it's going to happen. I have faith.

another topic, I had a great day todayl the bears played at noon, so I had a bunch of people, buying beers and burgers and chicken wings, etc. then had a few late tables. business is looking up a bit!:woohoo:
