February 25th Magic Cruise Board

We're not driving over until Saturday so I have to do "real life" until then... so hard to stay focused! VERY excited and we all can't wait! Finished up last minute sewing/gluing/planning stuff so that I can turn off the stress button on Friday when I clock out at 5pm. (Actually have an eye appointment Friday at 5:15pm - how is THAT relaxing?!)

Now that we're down to the wire with prepping and packing, we're starting to debate how many "nice" and formal outfits to bring. We've cruised on 3 other lines but never Disney, and it sounds like Disney is more casual than average... Trying to balance the "not doing laundry on my vacation" with the "don't want to have the heaviest suitcases known to man" - not sure which side is winning =D

Focus? HA! Today's my last day of work and we are flying out tomorrow morning! I'm SOOOOOO excited! This our first Disney cruise too.

I'm pretty much packed but I think I have too much. It's hard... dress clothes for dinner, hang out clothes for the day, etc... and leaving room for liquor and souvenier purchases... oh well! I don't want to do laundry either but probably will... just because it's there and it's less I have to do at home... and it's just my husband and I going on the cruise! LOL!

Since you just got back from your cruise, your information should be accurate! Did you receive a lanyard as first time cruisers? I know returning guests get one, what about us, newbies?

OK Im addicted!!! On the last day I was going to sign up for another but a long line then went back and she was closed. Do you think I can call Disney to still get discount or how do you book, wait or prebook on ship.
We were only at meet and greet for 15mins then went up to spa to win prizes I did get to meet a few of you!!!
We had an amazing time esp Sydney..my heart is full of happiness!!!!!!!!

Hi Tia - You do not get a lanyard for your first cruise. Only 2nd and on but they do sell DCL logo ones on board. Have a great cruise!!

Glad your family enjoyed! We are back as well. I did not make it to the meet but DD's did. We had a great time!!! As for booking onboard your out of luck for the discount unless the agent onboard actually has a record that she gave you a quote.

That was fantastic! I loved meeting everyone at the meet the first day, and we all loved the FE gifts from everyone!

I forgot to put our name on ours, but the Cedar Point magnet was from us! I couldn't live at the home of the best roller coasters in the world and not bring you a piece of it!

I got to spend some time with quite a few of you! It was so much fun knowing people (sort of) in advance!

Dizzi & Threewilmingtonwalls (AKA Lynn & Alexis) - thanks for letting us join on the wonderful excursion! Alexis - I will e-mail you some pics this week, including one of the rum punch!

Feiste (AKA Jen) - I'm dying for a Greektown trip after talking to you! I'll PM you if we decide to go!

Imadjen (AKA Laura) - it was great to talk to you on the beach in St. Thomas!

We did book another trip, but just a dummy date for now... We'll probably start looking in earnest soon!

Wow...is it over already???

That was the best!!!! I didn't get to make it to the meet with two young kids of which one missed her nap that day. But I saw some great FE's hanging on deck 2 midship near us!

Oh, and I saw Sydney from afar on that first day in the red shirts

We have already booked for next year...the Magic again from Texas! DH is totally disappointed though that he won't get to go to CC so we may have to change but looking at the price difference to be on the newer ships may not be worth it.

Did anyone else by chance do the Kon Tiki tour in St. Thomas?

Oh, and did anyone buy any diamonds while away? I was drooling over some of the bracelets in Diamonds International but was REALLY worried about getting anything to know if I would be ripped off!

IT was nice to meet all of you.

And very nice to take a vacation without any kiddos.
But i have heard about it since we got back, they hated being without me for many many teenage reasons......

I dont forsee us doing another cruise with Disney for a long while.....(UNLESS WE HIT THE LOTTERY)

We want to do some other things GRand Canyon, Vegas, New York CIty Hawaii, Paris to name a few.

NOW if we could take a Disney Ship to do all those things then we would in a heart beat.

We are home as well and kindof sad... No towel animals,bed turn downs,breakfast buffets.......We had a great trip and it was nice to meet everyone!! The FE gifts were AWESOME. It was so much fun for the girls and me to find all the surprises day after day. We booked a dummy date as we probably won't cruise for a couple years or so. The girls also had fun with the girls they met ahead of time online. Thank you for that. I saw on DIS that this weeks cruise had to change its itinerary due to high winds. I thought we pretty much lucked out with the weather.
Would love to see some pictures. I haven't even begun to download ours....

I can't believe that two weeks ago I was just drifting off to sleep, sad that our wonderful vacation was over. I hope everyone had a fabulous time! It was great to meet so many of you, and THANK YOU for the amazing FE goodies - Lilia was so excited every time she came back to the room and discovered a new treat. And thanks again to Jodi (emmysdidi) for putting it all together for us! I don't do trip reports, but I will share some pics if I can figure out how to upload them. Until next time...

It was so great to meet your family and tour St. Maarten. Thanks for coming with us! (Sorry my husband had a bit of a freak out over Maho beach...he is a "safety" guy and was appalled at the entire experience.) Can I just say that I would fly all the way to St. Maarten tomorrow for just one pastry from Serafina? That place was INCREDIBLE! Anyway, can't wait to see the pics. I hope Anthony had an awesome birthday (we missed seeing him on that day, although we did see your mom) and I hope your dad is feeling much better!

We booked on the Magic out of Galveston, too! 8-night Western Caribbean, sailing March 1. We can't wait!

Hi guys! Not sure if anyone is checking back on this thread. But I'm trying to keep track of all the scheduled stops on Castaway Cay this year. I haven't been able to find out for sure if your cruise made it's scheduled call. If someone could post or PM me that would be great. If you could remember generally how the weather was, that would be a bonus. Thanks!

Yes, we did stop at Castaway, and it was a gorgeous day! Sunny, 80, perfect! That evening back on ship the captain said it was the best Castaway weather day they've had since last fall.
