Helping friends plan a February 5-9, 2020 trip.

Anything happening that time that would affect the crowd levels?

That's a great time to go. Crowds should be moderate, possibly minimal. Princess Half Marathon is later in the month.

Should be a good time crowd-wise. I was considering that week, but there were no value rooms to be had, so we went with the week before. It's probably cheer competition people taking up all the value rooms. They don't really impact park crowds much, though.

That week should be a good time to go. The third week, President's Day, can be very busy.

In my experience the last week of January and the first week of February have some of the lowest crowds.

That's when we'll be there, and I think it will be the best time to go! But I'd prefer to keep that a secret; don't want to encourage others to go while I'm there :rolleyes1

It is a great time to go. Been twice that week. Not necessarily swimming weather, but sure great for hot tubs.

Isn't there some sort of 'Arts' thing going on? We're doing the Snow Bird thing and spending the whole month of Feb near Orlando and I think I read something about a festival.

Looking today and nothing at port Orleans. Am I really that late? What's going on? Feb 5-9.

Sorry you kind of are... discounts came out several weeks ago. But keep checking Disney does release more rooms...it might not be your choice of resort but they are still out there.

Guess I've been so focused on my November trip that I totally missed this. Thinking it was usually pretty slow..... maybe offsite neighbor hotel. Suggestions?

Cheer Nationals are the Feb. 7-9, teams usually come in a day or two before the first competition day. They also reserve resorts for that, for next year it's DISNEY’S ALL STAR/POP CENTURY RESORTS AND CARIBBEAN BEACH/CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT.

FWIW, we went during that time in 2018, and found the parks to be the most crowded of our recent trips! There were a lot of South American tour groups there, especially in MK and Epcot.

I took advantage of the great discount at AKL to do my first Deluxe stay. Now that I'm doing my homework I see that the parks are all closing at 8 or 9 (Epcot) and thats a bit of a disappointment. I usually go in May, but not for the last 3 years. I love the parks at night. I guess the Disney universe is telling me to enjoy being at the resort more . This is my retirement trip and probably my last so I am also sorry that the MK train is also going to be down. I thought about waiting until after 2021 but sometimes you have to not put things off. I wonder if they will add any later hours closer to the dates? I am really going to love my trip no matter what happens!

I’ve been twice during the first week of Feb/last week of Jan into Feb. I didn’t feel like the crowds were light but I also didn’t find it unmanageable at all. In my opinion the cheer comps didn’t impact crowd levels. I’m here right now and I honestly feel like with the exception of the Halloween party and one night at Epcot (F&W) the crowds have actually been slightly better than my Jan/Feb experiences.

If it makes you feel better, we’ve been the last week of January the last two years...going again this year and one positive about that time of year is that sunset is early so you do get to enjoy parks after dark. We saw MK fireworks at 8:00 pm and then headed over to Disney Springs to get a drink and snack.

Last year we went the last week of February. Not low crowds but def manageable. We still got to swim as well. The parks do close earlier. So we always went early and stayed all day. I planned a LOT and we didn’t wait for any rides the entire week except for meeting Elsa and Anna. We were hot for quite a few days there so the weather was perfect

I went years ago & had that same experience.
