Hello fellow campers! It's our first trip to DW and to the Fort!!! We are so excited! We are renting from Greenberg RV and they have been fantastic!

Although we are animal lovers, just not whilst camping ;)
We will have 3 trailers and would love the most shady type spots (we are from the very cold north - it was still snowing yesterday!) And the heat of Florida in July is going to be a shock to our systems!! Are there non pet friendly site that we should consider?
We did book a golf cart if that makes a difference.

Any other tips would be most welcome! :)

Our last trip we did the premium 1400 loop, non pet. Was a great location just a few minute walk to the pool, nightly campfire and movie, also if you need something from the store its also near by.

If I didn't have a pet 1100 would be my choice.

:welcome: to the Fort!!

We don't have pets and our favorite loop (which we have managed to get 95% of the time) is the 100 loop - any site is fine with us. They are smaller sites than some of the others, but that doesn't matter at all to us. We love the close walking distance to Trails End and the boat dock to MK. I see that you will have a cart so that will not be an issue for you - we just enjoy walking or bussing.

Hope you have a great trip - camping at the Fort IS addicting, so watch out, you may be wanting to buy your own rig!! ;)

Thank you!
I was online researching last night and found YouTube videos of all of the loops! My husband and I watched the videos of the non pet, premium sites and decided we liked 1200 and 1300 the best (from the video ;)). I called today for our July 2015 trip and got a rate of $122 including taxes and she made a note of my request. I hope they can make it work!! :)

So I guess I could change my thread title to Fully Booked now!!!
Thanks for your help fellow campers!!

Congrats! Wow you're right our heat will be a shock to your system. It's already in the lower 90's at the parks here.

Drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen and bring mosquito repellent.

Thank you!! We are so super excited- alas, it's 14 months away still!!

Yes, I am a little scared of the extremes in temps for sure!
It was snowing here again today!:furious:
Although it's not sticking to the ground, it's melting as it comes down but some sort of spring would be nice!!
Part of our decision to camp was being able to enjoy the outdoors in the natural shade to relax, far better than a hotel!!

Mosquitoes!? I was hoping we wouldn't have to deal with those blood sucking pests on vacation!!!:lmao:

We have never personally been bitten by mosquitoes at the Fort - in fact we have never even seen one in the many years we have camped there!!

I think some people are mosquito 'magnets'! ;) I have heard other people say they've been bothered, but on the whole Disney must take care of them, by spraying or some other means. I wouldn't worry too much. :)

We have seen, and been bothered by, quite a few mosquitoes near the beach when watching fireworks, The ferry boats to the MK often have tons of them on the open deck after dark or first thing in the morning.
As far as on the site, I don't recall ever encountering a single one!
