OK All, Day One... I did it, 25 mins on Treadmill run for 60 at 15mph and walk for 90. I feel good. I can't lie, the last 10 mins were a little hard.. But Day one is done...

I can and will do this!!!!
( I hope)

Thank you all who have encouraged me to get off my butt, and do somthing I have always wanted to do...

Each day you get that movement in you'll feel so proud you did it! You can do this...I'm going through the process too. Hang in there, and it sounds like things are going well...:thumbsup2

Thanks you for your posts

OK,,,, Day 2 of Treadmill... I again did what the coolrunnings.com guide said to. 5min warm up run for 60 the walk for 90. I did 1.5 mils in the 25 mins and burned 200 cals.

Now if only I could do this evey day..

OK So I am going to put it out there. I weight.......192......... UGG. I want to aleast be at 150

:) don't let numbers own you...it's just a number - not who you are.

does this help? I'll share with you - I started at 257, i'm at 230 and working towards 150. See - they're just numbers...they don't represent who I am as a person - they're just measurements that show me where my body is at this point in time.

Good job on the C25K - and those rest days in between are important, and especially as you go farther -

Keep going, you're going to do just fine!

Solar, Great job on the 27lbs...

My problem is on my rest day on Sunday, ummm, well.. Saturday night me and DH had a few drinks while making Christmas Candy.( I'm hosting open house on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinner too.)

But, I am not making myself nuts, I am going to eat what I want these last two weeks, I am still better off now that I am getting on the treadmill.

Today I have done very well. I had a home made protein shake for Breakfast
(Protein Powder, Frozen Banana & Milk):banana:
Snack has been wheat thins and a low sugar granola bar.

yeah, no sense in beating yourself for enjoying yourself....life is just about choices.

we trade off - i'll make some good choices here, so i can have some other choices here

oh, i used to have this DELICIOUS protein shake my trainer (from awhile back) taught me - choc. whey protein powder, 1 spoon of natural peanut butter, fat free milk and ice...(1 spoon honey, or 2 splenda - your choice which) - i used the splenda

Sounds good. I have strawberry poweder right now, but I will try this next time.
Thanks for the info!!!!

I don't want to talk about what I eat today. Not Good
Tomorrow is a c25k traing day!

Today was days 3 on the program. I did do it keeping a 16.4 min pace, Total of 1.6 miles. But Why O Why O Why.. Is the last 10 mins so hard.
For Christmas Eve and Christmas Day I will do just my elictical and not run. Saturday I will train again, on week two of the C25K Program.

I know the goal is 3.5 miles in 30 mins but I am a long way away, but 40-50lbs over weight, I am not giving up.

Also, I still have not changed my diet at all. How can I go from a complete sugar junkie to no sugar at all at Christmas. I could if I really wanted to, but quiting sugar Jan 1 sounds better.

On to start the day... Have a Great Day Eveyone.

I'm a slow runner...but i just keep going. I read a statement somewhere that helps me when I think about how slow I run...

I forget who to credit for this quote...read it awhile back

The faster I run, the more weight I lose.
The more weight I lose, the faster I run.

:) so just keep moving, and both things will happen - you'll lose that weight, and you'll improve your speed. I have a lot of extra weight, and you know what - that's okay....I'm moving. I'll get faster in time - but right now the challenge is to keep moving.

I have found that I don't miss sugar. I am trying to eat only whole grains and get my sugar from milk and fruit only. One of my goals is to avoid chocolate. I tend to binge on it and avoiding it is helping so much. There are other tricks too, like making cupcakes with diet soda and topping it with Cool Whip or reduced sugar frosting. I love Cool Whip Free, but I've seen sugar-free as well. Another trick I use is making sugar-free, fat-free vanilla pudding with fat-free milk. It gets a dairy serving in and doesn't cause me to binge. If I think of anything else that might be an easy change-up, I'll be sure to post.

I agree about the sugar...you really do eventually lose your taste for it. A few years back I totally cut out all sugar and lost quite a bit of poundage. I eventually started eating sugar-containing items again but many still taste too sweet to me and I absolutely cannot stand soda or sugar in my iced tea or coffee (this from someone who used to empty half a container of sugar into those beverages).

Thanks for your post CC, Ink and Solar.

I love Coke. And Chocolate, if I didn't I would not need to post here HA HA!!!
Anyway, I can't not do any type of fake sugar, or sugar alcohol, it does not agree with me.

Anyway, So after 4 days of doing nothing, other than again chasing a baby to change a diaper. Today I got back on the treadmill for day 4 of the C25K training.

Solar, I had to do 90 sec of run and 2 min of walk. I ran at a 4.1-4.2 I know its not that fast but last week I did just 4.0. I was a work out, but I don't hate the treadmill yet.

DH gave me Wii Fit for Christmas. So between, the wii, the treadmill, the eliptical in my basement, and lets not forget the never ending chasing of the baby!! I should be skinny by easter. HA HA HA

Thanks you all so much for the posts.

you're doing great...keep going!

I run slow...i'm okay with that, because my body is moving

Maybe you could just cut back on sugar if you aren't ready to give it up...if you have 4-6 Cokes daily, what about 2-3 a day this week, and water the rest...and slowly ween yourself if cold turkey isn't your thing.

We all have to find what works for us...what works for you may not work for me, what works for me may not work for you -- tune into your mind and body and feel it out as you go :thumbsup2

I know what you mean about the chocolate. I can pass it up most times but there is a certain time during the month when I will kill for it. The yogurts with the candy fulfill that nicely (well, not entirely nicely...I'd rather swim in a vat of melted Hersheys bars). I won't do any artificial sugar either. I'd rather just not have it at all.

As Solar said, weaning might be the right way to go. That way you're not facing the prospect of NEVER. Instead, you allow it but you also retain power over it.

Ink & Solar

Thanks again for posting.
I drink 1 Coke a day.

Today for lunch was, a lean pocket, a salad, 1 can of coke, then 4 mini 3mustkeer candys I had in my desk.

So today was a non Run day but I did the eliptical for 10 mins. The eliptical is not as easy as it looks.

Tomorrow is a run day.

And my plan for reducing the Coke is, come Monday, No Coke Mon-Fri, I will let myself have Coke and or sweets on the weekends but again only 1 per day, I am gonig to do that for a month or so, then go from there. I will post on here to update my Fatty Progress.

Solar, I can't wait to hear how the Princess 1/2 is, only a few more months. Please tell me all about it when you get backprincess:

So Finally I got my fat butt back on the treadmill for day two of week two on the C25K.

I so so so did not want to get on the treadmill. But after the first 6-7 mins. I was happy I did. Don't get me wrong, its still hard. But I keep telling myself, the more I run, the more FAT! I will loose and the easier it will be to run..

Run Forest Run!!!!!

I feel like that every time I run...I don't feel like it...but am always thrilled when I do it! I will be sure to update my Disney run - good for you -- getting your body moving.

LOL, I HATE the elliptical. EWWWW~ good for you. I have friends who love that machine, to me it's like a form of torture

Keep going...you can do this!!!!
