Fatty's Trek to Couch 2 Princess 1/2 2011

I know what you mean about getting on the exercise machine. That's how it is when we're cruising and I use the treadmill...hate it at first, then I get in the zone. And you've got just the right mind set...you're burning fat with every minute you do it! That feels so good to know :goodvibes

Well if this is going to be my journal of my trek to the princess 1/2 2011 I should update with the truth.

So the last day I go on the tread mill was Saturday the 2nd. It was only for 10mins, then I found out the doctor was closing early and my 5years was sick so I had to rush out the door.
Since then, life has been busy, my father (age 56) had a 3x bypass on Monday. (He is the reason, I am going to get in shape.I don't want my kids to wait at the hospital all day) Anyway, things are going good for my Dad. He may be able to come home on Friday.

Yesterday, I was home with out kids for 1 hour, instead of working out, I did dishes, laundry, made dinner, and found myself wishing the girls were home. (Don't tell DH I said that) I have been asking for time to myself, and now I had an hour and I clean and miss the kids, whats wrong with me!!!)

After 2 left over pieces of Frango Mints,,, I tell myself, up at 5AM tomorrow and on that treadmill..... Well that did not work, 1AM the baby is up with 102 fever, get her meds, and sit with her for a while back to bed at 2ish. The alarm went off at 5 and you can guess what I did, next thing I know its after 6 and I get to get to work...

The above is NO EXCUSE. But its why I did not do anything.
I do want to get my butt on the treadmill tonight after work, We will see if that happens

Make that treadmill commitment to yourself and follow through. :thumbsup2

I know what you mean about your dad. Part of my motivation is that my brother almost died from a ruptured brain anyuresm (sp) and stoke, which really spurred me to get my butt into shape.

The process can have ups and downs, but just concentrate on the progress.

Ink, Thanks for your post, I hope your brother is doing well now.

I did it!!!!!!:banana::yay::cheer2:
I FINALLY got my butt back on the treadmill this morning. (last night I did the wii fit yoga)

5:15AM on the treadmill, MP3 Player on in my ears. 5 min walk, 60sec run, boy I feel good so I ran for 5mins flat. UT OH,..... I should not have done that, because when I stopped to walk again SHIN SPLINT...
There IS a reason why you should follow the work out plan. I did stay on the treadmill for 20 mins instead of 30. But I will be back on again tomorrow.

Like Dori from Nemo. Just keep running, just keep running,
More treadmill.......Less Chocolate!

I hope your father was able to go home today. You are doing great. Way to get in that exercise. Hope your shin is ok.

cclovesdis, thanks for the post

My dad is home tonight, he sounds really good, he says he feels ok, but hes a man and I don't think he will tell me if he feels like poop! We are going to see him tomorrow.

OMG, I suck at this diet thing.... If I just eat right and run on the treadmill, DH will take me to DISNEY.. But instead .. I eat crap and I tell myself I am too busy for the treadmill.

Why can't I make the right choices, why does my brain think my body needs a burger instead of a salad? I know i need to eat the salad. I know I need to stay far far far away from pop and cookies with milk. So why Can't I ......
That is the Million $$ Question.
I hope with in my treck to the run a 1/2 I find away to put myself first. To choose the way I WANT to be not the way I have TOLD myself to be.

Saturday had a good work out on the treadmill 20min run/walk 1.5 miles.
Felt good.

Diet was ok, Protein bar for breakfast, 3 mini hamburgers of lunch, home made Turkey Chili for dinner

Went to see my dad, he looks good, but again its a reminder for me to get it in gear.

Today, I did 30mins of Wii. Cereal for breakfast.

Tomorrow, I run 30mins. As long as the kids don't get up at 5:30AM

I have been reading the post from the people who just finished the 1/2 at Disney, It sound so fulfilling. I must get myself to do that.

Congrads on getting the workout in yesterday. You can do this!

Maybe BECAUSE life is so busy and hectic with everything going on - think of your exercise time as "me" time...time to de-stress...because if anything, when you're done some of that stress melts away

Sometimes it's perception - and I know, I fight it..I don't want to -- not in the mood...but if i change my perception - I feel so strong when I finish a workout - etc...or all that stress is gone when I get moving -- sometimes it's just looking at it a little differently to get me going..

Hang in there...and keep moving the best you're able.

Hi Solar, Thanks for the post, I did not run this morning, but DH will already be home when I get home, and I don't have to make dinner, haveing left overs, so the treadmill should be all mine as soon as I get home.

How is your training going?

Sounds like you're doing great!

I saw some of the marathon coverage on TV last night. Can you imagine being that guy from Brazil who has won 7 times?!

Maintenance is not a bad thing since you haven't changed your diet. You're doing great with that running! I can barely make it through my Sports Active jogs, LOL.
