Which is better? Are they about the same? We have a fantasmic package at MM but were thinking about doing the fastpass+ and letting the dining reservation go. Just wanted to know how the seating compared.

Both are now in the same (center) seating area ("Mickey" section) of the theater.

Just FYI... we were there last week, with FP+ for Fantasmic, and we were seated in Pocahontas section. There was a "sign" attached to the pole that stated "FastPass Plus", and that is where we were directed by the CM's. However, the didnt have any way to "check" to ensure we actually HAD FP+ to sit in that section... the scanners are way before you actually enter the walkway behind the seats in the stadium. The section was PACKED.. I'm pretty sure not all truly HAD FP+ (saw lots of people W/O bands).

Every time there's a question about
"where will be be seated if we have X?"
...it changes.

(I have the modified, re-modified, further-modified, extra-modified MAPS in my files to prove it.) ;)

So, DISer's...
don't be a BIT surprised when you arrive to find
who-knows-what is going on (or where you'll end up)
on the night of your event.

We had the same experience...we were there on Saturday, Sept. 7th and we were seated in Pocahontas. We had FP+ for Fantasmic. We got there around 7:30 for an 8:30 show and the FP+ section was pretty full at that point. One section was pretty much empty...I cant remember if it was Scar or Sebastion. But right before the show started, they opened that section up to anyone. So, for those people, it paid to show up late.

I think it was a crowded show partly due to MK shutting down at 7pm because of Nights of Joy.

Hmmm, doesn't inspire a lot of confidence given that my FP+ time is 6:55-7:15 for a 7:30 show. Maybe I am better off keeping my dining package then. Decisions, decisions...

We were also in the Pocahontas section Tuesday, Sept. 3rd, but it was really empty compared to every other section until they opened it to everyone 10 mins before showtime.

All the other areas were pretty full as well (except for one section Scar or Sebastion....there were only a few people in that section...they opened it up right before the show to everyone).

There was only one Fantasmic that night and MK closed at 7pm due to Nights of Joy. So, I think both of those added to our crowded night.

When we went last week there was one section for F! Dining Package and another section for FP+. Castmembers were asking for our dining package passes, and were not admitting people to the Mickey section without them. FP+ holders were sent to the next section over, Pochahontas.

I'm a bit late in posting this, but - Congratulations Robo on your 70,000 posts! :thumbsup2 You have been such a huge help to hundreds, probably thousands, of us over the years! :cheer2:

Any advice on if I should keep my Fantasmic dinner package reservation for November 1st or I should just use fast pass +. We want a good seat an it looks like there is only 1 show planned for that night. HELP!

:thumbsup2 made my F+ dining package ADR back in April

They are not roping off or monitoring FP+ section, so just anyone can walk in. If true, this makes FP+ kind of useless. I'm only doing it so I can get there at 6:00 for the 6:30 show and have more time in the park. Anyone else find the FP+ section was full when they arrived 30 min early.

Could you help me?[Do you have the fantasmic package? If not you will have standing room only for show. If you have package you will get a voucher for the show at night and get to sit in out door theater for show:)

I have an ADR for F! at MM for our first HS day. I went ahead and did the FP+ for our second day. That way if the show is canceled on the first day will have have the reservation for the second day. If we see the show I will change the FP+ to another ride.

I'm thinking about canceling my Brown Derby Fantasmic and just do fast pass + for fantasmic. I wonder if that would be a mistake.:confused3
