Fantasy Deck 6 question

We are booked for room 6596 on the Fantasy. This is on deck #6. I understand the life boats are hanging off deck 5. Is this a good room to have and will I have a view of the lifeboats while sitting on the verandah? I'm assuming if I stand at the edge and look down in the water I'll see the top of the lifeboat but I won't see one if I'm sitting and looking straight. Is this right?

Also, on the January 3, 2015 sailing will there still be any Christmas decorations up?

Can't answer you on Jan. sailing,
....... but I can on deck 6......we had room 6568 on the Dream and no you do not see the L-boats while sitting on your verandah and looking out, but like you said you do see them while standing and looking down you do not see the water....you see the tops[i said tops]of the L-boats. To be frank and answer about ; is this a good room? My answer is....We would never book a 6 th deck again on the Dream or Fantasy.

I was just on the Fantasy from 10/26-11/02 and I has room 6076. Personally, I thought the room was fantastic. Fortunately, 6076 sits between lifeboats so they don't distract from the view. Even without the lifeboats, you don't get a full view of the water anyway. You get a full view of deck 3 though. Ask yourself how often are you really going to spend extended periods of time on your verandah. To me, the room location was more important than a view of the water. Deck 6 is a great, central deck. I'd book on deck 6 in a heartbeat.

I'd like to know this too, as we're booked in the same room (6568), but on the Fantasy. What did you not like about deck 6?

Edit: sorry, I swear I am dyslexic. I am in 6568, but the other poster said they were in 6586. My bad! Still would like to hear thoughts on deck 6 though!

We were in 6552 and we loved deck 6. We felt like it were close enough to everything, but not too much.

We were on the Fantasy in Sept in 6568. It was awesome. So convenient to everywhere. Lifeboats are definitely not a problem. We left it in good shape for you

We loved it so much, we're in the same location again next September but only on the Port side just to change it up a bit.

Yay! So glad to hear that you loved the room and deck 6. You just made me even more excited

Had deck 6 midship on the dream. Didn't have any problems with the view only noticed the life boats when looking down but really it's the same if you looked from our deck 8 room.

Only issue I had was with the elevators, since you are in the middle vertically during busy times they tend to be full up and down

The issue in question here is the life boats and the view from the verandah and only that. I guess I should have stated it a differant way. Deck six is a great location on the ship don't get me wrong.
The next time booking I would go with decks 7 or 8.
And VS85 the room 6568 hasn't any ajointing door to the next room. A plus, that was the reason we picked that room on the Dream. And while booking on deck 7 or 8 I would book or try to book a cat 7a [secret verandah stateroom].......It saves a little "jingle" and you still get a cat5 stateroom.The only draw-back, the verandah has a little steel structual over hang....no "biggie", if you are saving 3 to 5 hundred dollars. Great minds think alike! That's exactly why we booked this room, as we definitely did NOT want an adjoining room.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on deck 6! I think every deck will have some pros and cons, just a matter of deciding whether or not the cons outweigh the pros! For us, deck 6 sounds like it will be fantastic.
