Tried to search for answer, but search kept timing out on me. We are planning on going to HS on 10/3 and want to see Fantasmic. The park says it closes at 8pm with EMH from 8pm to 11pm. The attraction schedule says Fantasmic is scheduled to start at 8pm. One of our party isn't staying on site and is going with us but won't have a room key for EMH. We planned on seeing Fantasmic and leaving after the show but then I saw the EMH hours and since the times start and stop at the same time wasn't sure how it was handled. We aren't trying to sneak in or stay late (so no popcorn will be available for those reading this thread) just wanting clarification if anyone knows if we all be able to attend Fantasmic that night?

TIA!!

Sure you can. Fantasmic is almost always at closing time, whether there is EMH or not. BTW, your friend can stay in the park with you afterward. They won't be able to ride...but they can shop, eat, etc.

Thanks! As many times as we go I should know the answer, but we always stay on site so there was never a question about it.

When there are two shows of Fantasmis (8:00 & 9:30) do the rides close at 8pm?

F! shows don't have anything to do with ride closing times. Ride closing times are determined by the park closing time (vaires by day and by season). F! sometimes shows/lets out after the park closing time.

I have been wondering about a similar question. Are there usually 2 Fantasmic shows on the EMH nights? On Dec. 12th HS has EMH until 11 pm, and I am hoping there is a second less crowded show to attend. I'm hoping to avoid dinner package at Hollywood & Vine as well!

Where can you check the show times for Fantasmic? I haven't had any luck finding it on the Disney website.

1. no. EMH and Fantasmic don't overlap alot. Personally I can't imagine being there on a night like that seeing what each individually do to the crowd levels. :scared1:
2.Try here

I actually asked guest communications about this once. If the *start time* of Fantasmic is at or after public close, it is open to the public. If it starts *after* public close, it is not. So, if public hours are 9-8, and F! is at 8, she can attend with you. But, if a second one is added without an extension of park hours, she could not.

Sorry, but that's incorrect info.

All regularly-scheduled Fantasmic! shows are available for all guests.

The lines for the shows begin an hour or more before the show-times.

There is no checking of resort ID's in the Fantasmic! lines.

But, the point is nearly moot anyway as there are so few Fantasmic! shows offered on a DHS PM EMH nights.

BTW, this is only true of Fantasmic!
The Festival of the Lion King (and very rarely, Finding Nemo the Musical) shows that are performed during
DAK PM EMH are only for WDW resort guests, and resort ID' are checked.

There aren't any other "shows" generally performed at at any of the parks during PM EMH.

Thanks for your help PIRATEGIRL007! Looks like they don't even have Fantasmic that night anyway. It never occured to me that they just wouldn't have it all, especially on a EMH night. Oh well, I'll have to juggle things from a different night then. Back to the drawing board. .

Glad to help, trust me that is a good thing you wouldn't want to be there on an EMH and a F! night combined. It would be a madhouse no matter how 'low' the crowds were that particular week.

It's rare but does happen. What if I were thinking of going to a 9pm 2nd showing of Fantasmic + EMH? Basically for Fantasmic? Would the short answer be to watch it on youtube instead and hit up illuminations ;) Or would showing up at 7:30 as the first one is queuing and having dinner while in line be an acceptable use of 2 hours (7:30-9:30) then hit up the other side of the park for half an hour so I don't need to fight the crowds which are leaving?

Spoiler alert!

Does the dragon still show up at the end for the big showdown with Mickey? when I last saw the show in 10/2009 there was no dragon...just the evil queen from Sleeping Beauty. i know the DL dragon was down for teh count for a while, butnot sure about the HS version.

Yes. The dragon is still in the WDW version of the show.

(You obviously saw F! on a night where they had to make a substitution due to technical or cast difficulties, which can happen occasionally.)

yea..it was a bit of a bummer. I do like the show...but the dragon seals the deal...without him it lacks IMO. Happliy I saw him in 2007.

also...given all these F! horror stories I guess I was lucky...we queued up 45 mins before the show...were herded in, grabbed decent seats, and watched. uneventful. guess that's October for you.
