Famous people you have met on your cruise?

Kdicey,
Kellys!! You must be nuts! You MUST go to the Clam Box in Ipswich. They are phenomenal there. Also the kids would like the restaurant, it's in the shape of a clam box! Very cute, you can read about it on the web, just make sure it's the one in Ipswich.
I am sure it's horrible for any public figure to go anywhere and do anything, especially with their children. Many people would love to be a movie star, etc, for the fame, but that comes at a large price. Frankly, I like my boring life.
Anyhow, I am glad you will be enjoying a cruise with your son. This is making a memory for your son that will always be there. I love letting my kids see that you can be a grown up but still be a kid.

C'mon you two! Kelly's in Revere, & the Clam Box!!! What about Woodmans!
Nothing is better! Picnic Tables, Lobsters, you pick'em they steam them, dining outside or upstairs, tons of napkins, forget the silverware!!!
:boat:
Jeesh I'm a North Shore Native... and unless your at Lobster in the Ruff on Bearskin Neck, Woodmans is the Winner! You could feed a family with one clam plate!

:flower1:

Woodmans is okay, but I still love Clam Box!!!. There is another one, I forget it's name, but it's at a corner in Topsfield, Georgetown area, that's pretty good. I am heading up there in June for a wedding and a week of eating. The hits for me are #1- Nicks Roast Beef in Beverly, #2- Clam Box, and now your help is needed fo r#3. Where for cheap lobsta???

Another Nawth Shohah girl here. Woodman's has been on the tourist trap list for a long time. For the cheap lobster, go past Woodman's, keep heading up 133 towards Gloucester (bear left at the fork) and go to Essex Seafood. They have a clam bake special with two lobsters, steamers and corn or cole slaw for about $25. Oh you are making crave a seafood fix!

The place on the corner of 133 was McIntyre's, but it never opened last year. I grew up in Beverly, so Nick's is a common stop too. I did get a really good roast beef sandwich at the newer Kelly's at Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers last week. Even the onion rings were better than the Saugus ones (and I didn't stand outside in the freezing cold like in Revere on the beach).

#1 Nicks! YUM

#2 Rocco's Pizza in Danvers

#3 Lobster... cheap (not easy to find!) Rowands on the Beverly Salem Bridge and cook them yourself, OR Kelly's Lobster Roll Sandwich. Its not cheap but it is Good!!! OR Cherry Street Mkt., for a pound of "Just Tails"! YUMMM

I hope the DCL ships have Lobster! :earboy2:

For Dinner... Best Choice the Depot or Hardcover/
and Grapevine in Salem!
We should start a new North Shore Food Thread!!! LOL

Most Famous Person: I married him!
I was a "groupie" so I've met 'em all! From Mr. Garcia, to JLH, S. Tyler to S. King!!.
We are normal people, we eat drink and dream just like everyone! I just dont like when people beg for autographs when I'm with my family, eating or dancing, etc... there is a time and place!

We were on the Father's Day Cruise with Joe Namath too. He stopped and talked to us on the beach and was visible all over the ship.

The DIS famous Miller Lite drinker, Ron Lampersky.

I don't know how famous, but on our 1st Disney Cruise we stood in line behind Jonathon Franks of Star Trek, TNG. Being a fan of the show, we enjoyed seeing him. :earseek:

I used to have the biggest crush on him, isn't he about 60 now? He was on DCL with a kid? Did he have a trophy wife??

Well, Christy Carlson Romano on the 10 day Disney Christmas Cruise.

John Davidson and some other old guys on the 14 day Panama Canal Cruise with Royal Carribbean (the other guys were pretty darn funny though).

President of DCL on Christmas Cruise

And the best was Taylor Mason, the ventriloquist on the 10 day Disney Christmas Cruise. Got to sit with his wife as we were the "panel" on Who Wants to Be a Mouseketeer.

Santa Clause, Mrs. Clause and all the other Christmas Disney Characters!!!

Rumor has it though that there will be some "famous" people on the PC cruise.

Of course, we are the most famous..........at least our stateroom host/hostess and servers think so!

Linda

SimbaNoodle--Jonathan Frakes is married to Genie Francis, also known as Laura Spencer of General Hospital fame. Did you see her with him?

Curious about your famous DH. Would we recognize him as someone Famous?

I would Love to see or be near a famous person. I've never even came close to anyone famous. But I do believe everyone deserves their privacy and to be respected.

We're on the same Cruise as you and I'm just dying to know!!! :earboy2:
Thanks!

Seaulater....my DD is in the same Sororiety (sp) as Christy Carlson Romano and they had a conference in WDW this past June. My DD spent some time with her and even had her photo published with Christy in the Sororiety newsletter.

and to you North Shore folks....we spent every summer in Gloucester growing up as my mom grew up there and we always went to visit her mom for the summer.

My uncle was a clammer so the best clams were fresh from the sea and eaten in the backyard!!! My cousin and I would see who could eat the most steamed clams....usually until one of the got sick!!

Love Rockport and Bearskin Neck.....Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester is one of my all time favorite beaches anywhere!!!! We still have many relatives living in Gloucester. My mom used to visit the Crow's Nest in her younger years (as shown in the movie the Perfect Storm).

We even saw Elizabeth Montgomery filming bewitched when Darren was turned into the "Man at the Wheel" monument at the Cut...she was so gracious and stayed after filming for many hours to sign autographs!!!

Remember when you first boarded the ship and they anounced your name and the cast members all applauded for you (and me). We are the most important people on the ship!

Excuse me, but I think Woods on PLymouth Waterfront has the BEST clams!! I am also a fan of Tony's in Wollaston!

We were on the Wonder with John Ratsenberger, Cliff Claven from Cheers! He was very friendly. He was vacationing with his wife and 2 children. Did a small talk to the crowd in the afternoon and signed autographs afterwards. :cool1:

We have had so many wonderful cruises with the DCL CMs in entertainment....SheShe, Andy, John, Que, Karen, Elllen,Ian and many others have become mini-celebs to our family!! Thx for the memories DCL celebs!! :cool1:

I have had many dinners and social events with friends in the industry. Its a major pain in a.. when people run up and yell. I would suggest if you see someone that you think is a star , act like its the parent of one of the kids from your school. Just wave I bet next time they see you they will remember that you were cool to them and buy you a drink or a prosche .

I agree and can't imagine acting the way that some people act around anyone that is famous.

Last summer my son was playing in a baseball tournament. Cal Ripken's son was playing at the same level and his team was playing the game after my son's team. The team, incuding Cal, arrived to watch the game and warm up. So many people shrieked and carried on and I cringed. The other team parents (his team, not ours) said that he's used to it, but I said that he was there as a dad, not a famous baseball player, and I wished that people could let him enjoy being there as a dad. He did pose for a picture with our team, a picture that we love, which was very nice of him. He did not sign autographs, though, which I totally understood.

BTW, we also saw him at another Ripken run tournament and my husband attended one of his coaching clinics and getting autographs in those settings didn't bother me. He's a very personable man and you gotta love those blue eyes (all of us suburban moms were drooling... ;) ).

Anyway, this isn't a cruise story since I haven't been lucky enough to cruise yet.

This was not onboard, but last week my DD and I went to a meet and greet with Paris Hilton at Lord & Taylor's Dept. store on 5th Avenue....Paris was promoting her new fragrance.....now here is a girl with tons of money, the ability to buy anything she wants, paparazzi following her all over...pics in magazines, jet set life...etc.....you would think my DD would say wow, wish I had her life....but no.....after she got her autograph and photo my DD said she really felt sorry for her....no privacy at all. That surprised me from a 16 year old.

Here is a link to some pics we took.....if anyone would care to see.
