Exchange for Westin St John

Hello all of you DVC owners,

I have a question regarding trading points for other locations. (I know, why would anyone want to do that???)

Has anyone ever exchanged for a week in St John, USVI at the Westin St John? If so, what type of accomadations were you given, and how many points did you need to exchange? How far in advance did you do this?

Any other input would appreciated as well.

I tried for well over a year to exchange into the Westin on St. John, no luck

I did get Cancun though

If you go to tug2.net you may find some units at Westin, St. John for rent (Classifieds section) I recently bought into the Starwood Vacation Network and was able to do an Internal Exchange into a 3 Bedroom-private pool villa in January. My understanding is that most of the units end up being traded internally within the SVN ownership group.

I have been on the DVC "seach list" for about 9 months now and still no luck. Originally, I was trying for a week in November, but then I got desparate and expanded the search for Oct. through Dec. Still No Luck! So, instead, I used my AmEx Membership Reward Points and booked the week in November that I wanted.

You'll do better if you list several resorts in similar locations. Check out the tug board to make sure their quality sounds acceptable to you, and then give MS more flexibility. If what you really want is Caribbean beaches, for example, you should be able to come up with several islands and resorts that will give you your sun-and-sand fix.
