Evil Clowns? Mickey Mouse? Divas? And turning 40!? Be afraid, be very afraid!

Beth, Check out the Family Fun website for ideas too!

Also, Sandra Lee from the Foodnetwork, has really cute spooky food items to serve. If you can, also try to check out the network's Halloween special on the internet. Don't know if some of it might be on youtube?

Anywhos, it sounds like fun.

BTW- I hated Spin the Bottle!!!!!!!! :sad2::sad2::sad2:

Edited to say that I should have looked up Michelle's link. LOL.

It's astounding;
Time is fleeting;
Madness takes its toll.
But listen closely...
Not for very much longer.
I've got to keep control.
I remember doing the time-warp
Drinking those moments when
The Blackness would hit me
And the void would be calling...
Let's do the time-warp again.

Saturday, October 22, 2011:
The plan for today to wake up early, bright eyed and bushy tailed, and hit the park in time for the Magic Morning. Now, I've never done a magic morning before. The two main reasons are we've never stayed onsite, and in the past we've always had an annual pass. But I think aside from that, I've always felt that even if it was offered to me, I would not make it out of bed in time. Let's just say I am not a morning person. I will probably be even less of a morning person after partying it up all night with Mickey.

However, since the opportunity is being offered to me, I figured I'd better jump on it. Or at least stumble, blurry eyed, half asleep towards it. Think anyone will mind if I show up in my pajamas? :confused3 They never complain when I do that at Walmart.... :rolleyes1
I'm actually really excited about it. I've seen other DISers photos of an empty main street with no one blocking their view of the castle, and it would be awesome to get a photo like that.

After squeezing in some early morning rides and photos, we've got reservations for a delicious breakfast at Carnation Cafe. I've been there several times for lunch and dinner, and like most who've tried it, I am obsessed with their soup! I've never been for breakfast though, so if anyone has any recommendations on what to try, I'm open to hearing them!

The rest of the day promises to be a fun day just hanging with my "Divas" in the parks. Since I grew up going to Disneyland, and am a former annual pass holder, there isn't anything there I haven't done, so I don't really have any must-do items on my list.
I'd enjoy seeing Aladdin if there is time. It's such an amazing show, and a must-do when I am there with my family. I can never get enough of the Haunted Mansion anytime of the year, but especially when they have their Nightmare Before Christmas overlay. Love it!

Lunch will probably depend on how much we eat for breakfast. ;) Plans now are for a counter service. Maybe one of the new eateries in DCA, either the Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta or the Paradise Garden Grill. Or maybe the French Market in DL. I like most of the counter service places, so where ever we end up will be fine with me.
At some point during the day, I'd love to get my hands on one of these:
ahalloween.jpg

I think at $12 they are a bit steep, especially when I am not a fan of the Disney popcorn. Blasphemy, I know! But, my daughter Noelle has a birthday in November and I've already bought her the cutest Jack and Sally nightshirt. I thought what a wonderful package this would make for her gift! Empty out the popcorn, clean out the container thoroughly, put the night shirt inside the coffin and wrap the whole thing up! So, that is why I really want one of those.

I'd also like one of the Donald cups. A wonderful friend named Katie sent me the Mickey one, so of course I need the set!

Lastly, if I stumble across these holiday mugs, I'd like to grab one. My kids love the ones we have from years past and use them all the time.
ahalloween20.jpg

(Disclaimer: These are not my photos....obviously since I haven't left yet. ;) They were found doing an online search which led me to this wonderful website: http://www.magicaldayswiththemouse.com/2011/09/coffin-popcorn-bucket-halloween-mugs.html , which I have no affiliation with, just thought the pics were cute.)

I guess now that I think about it, I'd actually really just like to have sort of a relaxed day. Less of the rush-rush, go-go sort of vibe that it is when I'm with my kids, and more of a kick-back, enjoy being with my friends, and just soaking up the Halloweentime atmosphere. I'd like to do a little window shopping, take lots of photos of the decorations, and just fully "be there". Sometimes I think people rush through the park so much that they miss out on the amazing little details.
(Did that sound good? All that is code for I'll probably be feeling tired and lazy, and not want to move very fast.... :rolleyes1 :rotfl:)

At some point we'll be leaving the parks to go freshen up and change for dinner. Early evening dinner plans will be all of us getting together for some Mexican food and margaritas at Tortilla Joes in downtown Disney. Again, this is someplace I've never been before and I am looking forward to trying it. I love Mexican food!! :yay:

I'm not sure how late everyone is planning to stay. I'd love to close down the park, but I guess we'll see how everyone is feeling. Three late nights in a row might be a bit much for this old lady.
But no matter what, it's going to be a great day and I am really looking forward to it! Can we just go now.... ??! ;)

Up next......Day Four plans....Time to say good-bye

Thanks, Mel! I wouldn't have thought to check the Food Network site. I will take a peek. :thumbsup2

I never played Spin the Bottle. I was a good girl. ;)

Your day three sounds like a perfect day to me! I try to never miss a magic morning, that first hour in the park with hardly anyone is the best time of day. We usually try to get all of Fantasyland done before it gets all crazy or ride both sides of the Matterhorn too.

I love, love, love that Donald mug. He is just so darn cute. :lovestruc

Great update!!!

See, now I would've pegged you as someone who would love the scary haunted mazes and such. ;)

We'll miss you!! I remember when we were both doing pre-trip reports for Halloween. That was for the very first Halloween party I went to, and the first time we met!
Glad you'll be following along.

I love scary movies, but not real life scaries! I don't need anyone jumping out at me and making me pee my pants. :scared1:

That was my first time going to Disneyland by myself! It was so much fun meeting up with you and then meeting more Divas the next day! I can't wait to see everyone in February. :upsidedow

Sounds like you gals are going to have a great time. My personal fave at Carnation Café is Oscar's Choice (or something along those lines), it's eggs, potatoes, croissant, and bacon/sausage...so yummy!

That Donald cup is too cute!

Works for me :thumbsup2 I'm not the rushy-rushy girl. Uh-uh, no way. The only way I'm rushing is if there's a corn dog waiting at the finish line :rotfl2:

I only played it once in Jr. High and it was not fun.

I've never played spin the bottle either - and I don't think I want to try now either :upsidedow

Now you see my issue with the day 1 plans. Seriously, I need to bring a really big bag to carry a couple of different changes of clothes!!!

I'd also like one of the Donald cups. A wonderful friend named Katie sent me the Mickey one, so of course I need the set!

Ooooh, I get a shout out :woohoo:. I'm special!

I can't wait for Tortilla Joe's and my Margarita .

"it's just a jump to the left and a step to the right...."

And now I must either listen to the soundtrack or watch Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Love the Donald mug, that is adorable!!

Love the pictures!! When is Noelle's birthday and how old will she be?

I just registered on the site and read your PTR. I can't wait to read the rest :) I am going to the Halloween Party on the 14th.

I only played it once in Jr. High and it was not fun.
I always wondered what happens if a girl spins and the bottle lands on another girl! These days, I'm not sure it would make a difference. The guys would probably enjoy it!!! :rolleyes1

I love, love, love that Donald mug. He is just so darn cute. :lovestruc

Isn't he cute!! You don't find too many Donald items so I hope I can get that.

Amen to that sistah!!! :rotfl2:

And don't worry about peeing your pants at Knott's Scary Farm. I told you I'd bring the Depends. I got your back. :thumbsup2

Ooooh, I get a shout out :woohoo:. I'm special!
::yes:: :hug:

The biggest one there
I wonder if it would be "Dick's" big??
Katie, if we get a Vegas trip together, we have to go to Dick's and get you the monster margarita!! It's huge!

"it's just a jump to the left and a step to the right...."

That song is another one that sticks in your head all day. :cool1:

Noelle will be 15 on November 19. :)

I just registered on the site and read your PTR. I can't wait to read the rest :) I am going to the Halloween Party on the 14th.
Hi, and welcome aboard! Glad you are reading along. Have a great time at the Halloween party. Are you dressing up?

It's October 1st and that means three things:

1. I can finally say I am going to Disneyland this month!!!!!

2. There's only 30 days until my favorite holiday!!!

3. It's time to put up the Halloween decorations!!
Which I did today. Well, at least the indoor ones. We have more outdoor decorations than indoor, but we don't like to put those up too early. Although we live in a nice neighborhood, the last thing we need is some kids coming along and stealing them, or messing with them as a prank. But, the inside is looking good and is all ready for Noelle's Halloween party next weekend. :cool1:

I even managed to clean out the garage while I was at it. Of course, now I am exhausted!! Time to chill out and maybe watch a Halloween movie, since I'm in the mood. ;) Practical Magic is one of my faves. popcorn::

I love this time of year. My movie for today was Little Shop of Horrors. Now Feed me Seymour is running through my head. Isn't it funny how there is a song in everyone of those movies that stick in your head?

Hellooooooooooooooooooooo, anyone home???? No? *sigh*

You got a Do Over.

I love this time of year.
Me, too!! And as a special bonus, our temps are finally dropping here in Las Vegas. We even got some rain yesterday. Right now it's cloudy, gray, and only about 65. Perfect!!! If only it was like this every day.
It won't last though. Stupid weather is supposed to go back up into the 80's by next week.

By the way, I love your new sig!! Did Jess do that or did you?

Hellooooooooooooooooooooo, anyone home???? No? *sigh*
(Shhhhhh.....everyone be quiet.....maybe she won't know we're here.....)

;) Yes, I am here! Just avoiding posting more plans I guess because all that's left is the last day and no one wants to think about their last day of vacation. :(

I'm home but I'd rather be at Disneyland !
I'll second that!! :thumbsup2
