Epcot World Showcase Yummies

Just for the record, I can't wait for our trip in July. I'm gonna try all these things I haven't tried before. I didn't even know some of these things existed!! The bakery in France is always so crowed that we never go in. (Not this year...we're going!)

Our whole family loves the fish & chips from the UK. We usually try to eat here a couple of times each trip. My kids absolutey drool over the funnel cakes. The sesame chicken in China was awesome and my favorite cool-down pick-me-up is a frozen mocha. You might be able to get these at other places but I've only seen them at AK and Epcot. There is a large coffee stand in World Showcase. It is somewhere around Canada, UK, etc. Yummy!!

Just an FYI if you haven't made it into the door of the French bakery. If I'm remembering right, the place was packed but there's actually two rows of counters and two lines with the same stuff on both sides so it looked packed but moved really quickly.

Does anyone know if any of these treats are easy to take back to the hotel with you? We're going to epcot our first night and I was thinking of stocking up :)

sushi and edemame in Japan
Toblerone in Germany, also the Bratwurst
Cheese soup in Canada
Smoked Salmon in Norway also Cloudberries in whipped cream

I can't speak for all of the treats, but I do see people taking the baked goods from the French bakery "to go" frequently. We have done this on occasion just before IllumiNations and taken it back to our room. They pack the desserts in a pastry box.

You will see a lot of these boxes at the end of the night. Sometimes we get it to go just in case we can't find a table in the courtyard. It travels better to the first available empty bench. ;)

I know it's not anything special, but we always have to get the nachos from Mexico. The 3 of us will share it for lunch, and then snack the rest of the way around the world. They're only nachos, but my normally picky DS will dig into the tomatoes and black beans. It always surprises me.

Okay, I'm taking notes. I've never even been inside the bakery in France, but I think I'll have to go this time. I know a couple people said they were gone, but what are beavertails? Just curious.

I love the bratwurst with the heaping mound of sauerkraut in Germany.

I think I'm going to have to branch out this trip. I've only really enjoyed the treats at La Kringla in Norway (I love the School Bread sooooooo much). This time I'm going to have to try a few other things out, the bakery in France will be one for sure, I don't know what else is a must do treat wise.

Beavertails were an awesome fried dough that they used to sell at a booth in Canada.

We always snack around the world, too!! One thing we never pass up is the Cream Puff from the French Bakery nor the Fish and Chips in England.

I think we will be trying School Bread this year.

:dance3:

You MUST try the school bread, it's a pretty good size though, we usually split it between two of us.

One of our favorite things to do in EPCOT is to stake out our spot for Illuminations, then one person holds our spot while the other heads over to the bakery and gets the school bread, then we just sit back, enjoy the school bread and watch the show.

I second the sweet almond pretzels from Kringla Bakery. I have often asked for it to go, and it survived back to the room just fine. It's a nice treat to have for later!

I loved the food at the Moroccan restaurant. They had chicken sandwiches with hummus, tzatiki sauce, lettuce and tomatos. So amazing!!

I hear so much about the school bread, what is it?

School Bread is a bit like a large custard filled donut with vanilla icing and covered in coconut. I am not sure if the cake part is deep fried or baked, but it is DELICIOUS and must be shared because they are large. :goodvibes

Thank you, sounds wonderful, can't wait to try one!

I think school bread is not so much donut-like, but more like a small loaf of bread, or a bun. I'm pretty sure school bread is baked.. it doesn't have a crispy crust.

Yes, they are large... I had school bread as my entire lunch one day! :lmao:

Where do you get School Bread and what kind of cheese soup is in Canada?

I'm making notes, mmmm this is going to be a tasty time in Epcot!
