This is something we've always skipped because it takes 45 minutes according to Allears, and we never seem to have enough time at Epcot. Is it worth the time? I've always been curious about it. Thanks!!! :cool1:

I've always liked this attraction, but its because I love to see the dinosaurs! The preshow is quite dated; but on a hot, summer day, its a great place to get out of the heat for awhile.

It's worth it once, it's a nice attraction. We've been on it many times but it's been a long time and I doubt we'll go on it again because it does take so long.

Oh my gosh, yes! Definitely do it if you haven't already. I don't know why people dislike it so much. The pre-show, while dated, is cute. Especially if you like Ellen Degeneres. It's a nice break from the heat/walking and is pretty neat if you ask me. I probably do it once every other trip. But definitely check it out!

It does take a long time, and once the 'theatre seats' start to move you can't get out until it is over. So you have to have those potty breaks before you enter.;) I won't tell anyone that something is worth seeing or not. That is a really subjective thing- what one person finds entertaining may be boring as anything for someone else. But DH and I ride it once every trip.

While the dinosaur section can be a bit loud, I don't think it is particularly scary (unlike Dinosaur at AK). Some find it boring, and others find it a great way to have a nice nap on a hot afternoon. I would say that everyone should ride it once just to see for themselves. Wait until you have seen all the headliners, and then catch it before heading over to WS for the afternoon and evening. Or see it on your second Epcot day.

I'm of the opinion that there is not one single attraction at WDW that isn't worth at least one experience. One never knows what they will like until they actually see it. Taking advice from others about things not to bother with can create a situation where you have missed out on something worthwhile. I find U of E fun and relaxing. It isn't thrill oriented but it is fun to watch and, you can even learn something from it. It is one of the few remaining attractions that can be called edutainment.

It is only outdated if you have seen it before. If you haven't then it is brand new to you. Ellen is a hoot and the Dino's are cool, the story line is funny (Stupid Judy!) and the time goes very fast even though I have been on it at least 10 times.

Try it...if you don't like it don't go again, but at least you will know why you don't like it and do not think it worth that much time.

My girls and I like it. They are 5 and 10 right now. I would say we started going on it when the younger one was either 2 or 3. I think 3. The hardest part about it is that if little ones do get scared or cranky that they cannot get out of their seat or it will stop the whole ride. The first time I was pretty apprehensive about my younger daughter but she did okay. It can be a bit loud at times but overall we really enjoy it. We will be going on it again in April I'm sure :).

I did a couple of attractions for the first time on our last trip. This was one of them. I probably would never do it again unless I'm there in the summer and want to get out of the heat. And only if I had 2 days for Epcot.

I also experienced the Stitch attraction for the first time. It wasn't as bad as everyone says it is, but it's probably the worst attraction at MK.

It's worth going to at least once, but then again I don't find much I like in Epcot, so it's not really a waste of my time.

Love Ellen and Bill Nye, though.

I don't do this ride on every trip, but I like it. I like the Ellen-Jeapordy story. I also appreciate a cool place to relax for awhile. If I want to close my eyes, it's a good place to do it.

We just did it last week for the first time. It was our fourth trip to the world and because of the generally negative comments about the ride, we never bothered doing it on earlier trips. I did not like the ride and neither did my dd10. However, dd4 was talking on the long ride home about the dinosaurs in Ellen's dream. She has no clue as to who Ellen Degeneres is, she only knows of her from this ride so I was pretty impressed that she absorbed so much from the ride.

That said, Ill never Spend 37 minutes watching this again.

It's something that we used to do every time we went to WDW, but while I was working down there I didn't even do it once - it is a really big time commitment. That said, I think it's a great attraction and if you're doing a few days in Epcot you totally have time for it, especially now with TT down. I did go see the preshow several times while I was down there - I love that preshow, and I quote it pretty frequently, "A dream sequence!" and "Stupid Judy" being my favorite parts, oh and the fact that Bill Nye has to come over to borrow stuff for his science experiment. I'm going to go see if the preshow is on YouTube now, excuse me...

I remember the old version of this ride pre Ellen and that was boring. I always remember my dad going on about one of the oil rigs in the film being one of the ones he worked on.

As for the Ellen version I like it, its cute and I still like to see the dinos. Yes its dated but its fun and its a nice way to get off your feet for a bit.

I will say I did fall asleep on it last time but to be honest I was so tired.

Yes its long and it takes time to do but its worth going on at least once as most pps have said if you have the time go for it.

My eight year old looooves the dinos! Everything else he puts up with to see the dinos. I see a seat and air conditioning! But seriously, IMHO, it is a decent ride. Try it once?

We always try to ride this ride. It is long, but if you time it in the afternoon when you are getting tired, it makes for a very nice rest. Plus, we find it entertaining.

I'm surprised at the responses here. You'd think this was Epcot's version of 'Sounds Dangerous'. And dated? Are you kidding? Ellen is still around. So is Jeopardy.

This is one of my favorite attractions. Make sure you see the whole thing. The pre-show is a riot. Maybe even tied with the Muppets-3D pre-show.

The ride vehicles themselves are pretty amazing. The dinosaurs are amazing. The background music is some of the best.

Make this attraction a must-do on your next trip.

It's entertaining and worth seeing, even if you've done it before.

It's also nice to be able to sit and be cool for close to an hour. If I was pinched for time I might cut it out having seen it before, but outside of that I think it's well worth it.
