I know Chrissy Teigen hardly passes for a "celebrity" (seriously, what are her attributes that qualify her as such?) but I couldn't help chuckling.
The poor thing got sick - aww.. and she... (*gasps*) HAD to eat because of her medicines despite not being hungry. Can you believe that? That's outrageous!
Can you believe that after being on a cruise with hundreds of kids running around she got sick??! How irresponsible of DCL for not protecting her health.
She complained about: "being wet".. I kid you not.
Gosh I can't think of a more insufferable "celebrity" out there - I really can't stand her.

In all seriousness, please spare a thought for Chrissy as these are trying times for her.

ETA: I bet it was the WISH :rotfl:

She was on the Wish…my friend was on her sailing and saw her at Castaway

This. I don't know her nor do I need to. Easy to ignore. OTOH, she got sick (a cold?) on a cruise :rotfl2:who hasn't?
Right? My mom got really sick on/after our cruise last September. She was miserable, so in that aspect I can empathize with Chrissy, that's no fun. The only difference is that when my mom got sick she didn't have a social media following to announce it to. 🤣

So she's not allowed to complain about her health on her own blog, instagram, etc..?
Right?

How many “normal” people have we seen around here make complaints of a similar level about their DCL cruise?

It’s not just “her”. The only difference is that she’s a supermodel married to John Legend.

The amount of vitriol about somebody sharing about their life, especially when it does not impact you; it’s kind of overwhelming. She’s allowed to share about her experiences. Same as posters share here about their experiences or they post on Facebook or any number of social media apps.

Lots of people post when they come back sick from a Cruise on Facebook. I know our Facebook groups are running tally after a Cruise on who’s gotten Covid strep throat etc. don’t see why the big hatred for her doing something similar except for media outlet picked up on it.

Not too long ago some media outlet was using a thread from this site for an article. I don’t understand the big difference.

Somewhat related - the article says she cruised with her family but the baby is only 3 months old... don't babies have to be 6 months at least?
I was wondering the same thing! We sailed in 2010 with a 3 month old, but it changed to 6 months to a year a couple of years later.

So I'm almost 62 and I love Chrissie!! I first came to know of her when she was on the panel of a talk show hosted by TYra Banks. Chrissie didn't even have any children then. I never think she comes off as "entitled". Anybody who is anybody these days gets quoted contantly or asked numerous questions and then those are published ot tweeted etc.

Does it make you feel good to be so negative about someone who doesn't actually affect your life in any way? And she's the insufferable one huh? If you "really can't stand" someone, it is possible to simply ignore them.
It doesn't affect my life but its a DCL-related story and I'm just posting an article and commenting on it.
People comment on things all the time, even if those things don't affect their lives.. it's called having an opinion.

Hardly, DCL was very lowercase in your post. The rest was more of a rant.

And that’s your prerogative, you have freedom of speech to post what you want, this is a discussion forum after all.

I like my take on life - if it doesn’t affect me, isn’t illegal, then I could care less. I have far more interesting things going on in my life to give a crap about such inconsequential things.

Seems reductive to question her celebrity status when she is, in fact, a celebrity - yes, she is a supermodel but she seems pretty famous in her own right, having started her own culinary brand and such. It's also reductive to say "she's a supermodel married to John Legend", but anyway.

I don't think she "complained about being wet". She said that leaving a Disney cruise is like leaving Vegas only you feel like you binged drugs and you're wet. Maybe a joke I wouldn't laugh at, but not, strictly speaking, a complaint about being wet.

The minimum age to sail aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship is 6 months on the day of sailing; however, the minimum age for Transatlantic, Panama Canal and Hawaii itineraries is one year on the day of sailing.

Agreed. Not like she held a press conference. On our last Fantasy cruise a few months ago I saw
way more entitlement among "normal" people. Including someone yelling at guest services "You
know who I am"?. Apparently he was a Ceo of a company who was very upset that his faucet had
a slow drip when turned off and hadn't been fixed correctly.

I mean stuff happens.
