Emerald Aisle Tampa (in mid August)

I have a standard booked right now, but I can get a mid size (emerald aisle) for about the same price currently.

We would really want at least a standard size car, 2 adults, 2 kids, 1 larger suitcase, 4 small carryons and 4 backpacks.

What would you do: chance the emerald aisle or keep the standard/full size? Or do I just keep both reservations?

Thoughts please!

How much difference is the standard/full size?

Within a few dollars. I was reading reports though that often there are vans on the emerald aisle in tampa (which would be much more desirable than the full size!).

Hoping someone might of been there recently.....

I'm in a similar situation as you. Prices are high with all companies in August, my best rate is currently ~$450 for Emerald Aisle in TPA for 15 days.

You can follow this thread at flyertalk although there hasn't been too many reports recently someone does mention seeing 2 mini vans a couple of weeks ago.

For what it's worth we rented in TPA 3 years ago and there was excellent choice of SUV's and mini vans. We ended up in a sweet Town & Country van. Of course as always you never know what you will find... Fingers crossed rates will drop over the coming weeks and also if we go with the EA reservation that there will someone interesting (other than mid size cars).
