I cannot believe we leave in two weeks!! I am so not ready, I have no shoes to wear!!! My flip flops from summer are worn out, as well as my sneakers beyond life.

So where to get a good pair of flip flops in the winter. I need a good pair, with a really cushy sole, I have problems with my feet. If I buy a pair of sneakers now they won't be worn in enough to prevent blisters!!?? What do I do? I'm scrambling now...

Also I need to buy luggage, what is a good brand??

Uggg.. I have been so busy with school, and just spent the last 5 days in bed with the stomach flu...I cannot believe it's only two weeks away!

Any suggestions on a good runner, good flip flops if I could find them now, and a good name for luggage would be welcome. Thanks

Stephanie

I was feeling your pain last week :)

My flip flops were also worn out and I really hated my sneakers!!!

I found what I was looking for at TJ Maxx!!!
Cute cushy flip flops on clearance for $7 and a pair of Sketchers sneakers - also VERY cushy, on clearance for $25! I've been wearing the sneakers for a week now and they feel pretty broken in... the flip flops... well I'm in Maine and the temp has been in the 20's everyday! Haven't worn those quite so often but I will force myself to wear them all this week until we leave on Friday!!!!

Good Luck!!

Try Zappos.com for your favorite shoes. They have free returns, so there's not much risk. Great customer service. You can also buy Crocs at the resorts and parks.

Luggage, well, what do you want to spend? I like TravelPro, Briggs and Riley, and Delsey, but they can be expensive. However, I have a Briggs and Riley briefcase that I've used daily for 11 years now, and it barely shows any wear.

I am going to check our sports stores for flip flops and might buy some crocs or sneakers. I am in Ontario, Canada, so we have snow here. lol Or else I will wait till I get to Disney and see what they have there.

Thanks.

Well I know I have seen Delsey Luggage on sale here for 50% off. Sounds like a good bet. I am not tooo too worried about quality. I really do not travel much at all.

Thanks

I don't have any advice for you on flip flops, luggage, or sneakers. So why am I posting? To tell you about moleskin. It's a type of "bandage" that you can buy at any drug store that is an absolute miracle cure for blisters. If you do go ahead and get new sneakers, I suggest you get some moleskin too. You can find it in the same aisle as foot care things (like insoles).

Good luck!

Someone here recommended Teva Mush flip flops to me.

I LOVE THEM!!!!!!

Pay for overnight shipping if you need to; these flip flops are incredibly comfortable!!! I brought them to Disney, planning to wear sneakers the whole time. But instead I rarely took off my Tevas.

Next year I'm getting several pair, just to have for the summer.

Have a wonderful trip!

We're going in 2 weeks too. Do you think we'll be able to wear flipflops? Packing is driving me insane, since the weather is so unpredictable. :confused3 Should I pack shorts too???

Well I have been told to pack for everything. Morning can be a little chilly, and the afternoon warming up, with the evenings getting chilly again.

My TA advised me to pack shorts, tanks, tshirts, long sleeves, pants, sweaters, and fleecies or hoodies. Some have even said I might need gloves and a hat.

I love flip flops, and usually wear them until it snows. I hate, hate wearing running shoes and socks. But if it is cold, I guess I will, but most of the time I will be in my flip flops.

These are my flip flops. I love love love them too. My old pair is worn out, and badly shaped to my foot, as I need major arch support.

I have located a store here in town that has them!!

I absolutely love my Tevas too.

To address your question about luggage.....there is a lot o sale now for the holiday shopping season. Check the dept. stores. I prefer NOT to buy great quality luggage. The airlines are so rough on it, even expensive stuff gets cut or scuffed.....

Have a wonderful trip! I am impatiently waiting until Feb!

I recommend Teva Mush flipflops. They are super comfy. You can order them online.

I would get some good walking sneakers and walk some in them everyday until you leave.

I agree. Moleskin is GREAT, but...make sure, if you get a blister and use the moleskin, make sure you put a bandaid on first. I didn't and when I took the moleskin off ....oh my gosh. Ha. Definitely use a bandaid.

I love anything by Clarks..Privo sneakers and flip flops..I have had back surgery and not once while I walked my many miles there in August did my back nor my legs or feet hurt...

I recommend the Croc Capris for flip flops. Got them on shoebuy.com with free shipping (and free return shipping if need). They've got a big cushy sole so you don't feel like you're walking right on the pavement. Have a great trip:yay:

I'm a WDW local & during the warmer months I live in my Croc Capri flip flops. One day in August I was in them for 15 hours at the MK (EMH) during rain storms, etc and they were perfect. I had no back or leg pain which was great.

For this type of weather (it was 39 in Orlando this morning) I'm taking my wooly Mammoth Crocs - absolutely LOVE THEM!! I have 2 pairs & I understand that you can buy Mickey ones on WDW property. I don't want to have to wear socks so the Mammoth ones were perfect for me.

I was in our AAA office this week to buy tickets for this week-end and they had alot of luggage on sale. Since I don't travel very far I just throw my stuff in a small overnighter bag.

Enjoy your trip......................:santa:

Yes, don't leave home without the moleskin. My husband also just got a huge infected blister on his toe - much better now. But he works on his feet alot and what finally worked the best for him was Johnson and Johnson triple layer non-stick pads (from Walgreens) and then used medical tape to keep them on. Worked better for him than moleskin because it had already turned into the largest blister I have ever seen. We will be taking them with just in case. Even the most comfortable shoes can irritate your feet if you aren't use to walking in them all day.

Another note - I have orthodics and have trouble finding comfortable shoes. I am going with my broken in crocs (probably not wear all day as I can't put my orthodics in them) and my very old broken in tennis shoes. I need new tennis shoes but am waiting until after Disney as I know these will be the most comfortable. Are your shoes that bad that you can't wear them? Unless they are so worn that they are uncomfortable, they might be a better choice than new shoes.

I tried Moleskin last year on a part of my foot that did not touch my flip flops and it curled up and came off. :confused3

As for taking my old tennis shoes or runners, I don't have any. I HATE running shoes, sneakers, whatever, I live in flip flops till winter then I wear boots. This year, however, I had to get orthodics and I ended up getting a pair of close toed clogs. Not the type of shoe to wear with shorts, or capris. More of a dress shoe.

So my Tevas that I wore last year which were AMAZING :worship: i wore those soles down flat, except where my arch is high. They are still comfy but no support if I am walking for a long time.

So I did just go buy a pair of New Balance running shoe and a flip flop similar to the crocs. I can put my orthodic insoles in the runners. So I am hoping to trade off between the two. I am preying this works. I will bring the moleskin and bandaids and polysporin anyways just in case.

I was forced to get some good walking/running shoes and my dr. has ordered me to start some form of excercise to get my blood pressure down.

I meant to buy my Tevas at the end of summer, but got too busy with school.

I also have fibromyalgia which sometimes causes extreme calf pain when I walk, so good shoes now are a must for several reasons.

I also scored two pieces of luggage for $50.00 each regular $170.00 each!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

So now just to finish up with exams, clean my house, and pack.
