I have a couple questions.
First, for those of you who have eaten at Chef Mickey's for breakfast how was the food? Were there very many characters? We at dinner here one year and the food was not too bad and there were a lot of characters.
Second, we have a 7:10am ressie and are staying at POR. I was thinking that if we got to the bus stop by 6:40 that would give us enough time to get from our resort to MK and then hop on the monorail. Does that sound like a good plan?
Thanks!!
Cathy

We've done a 7:05am (and have had several around that same time) and I'd suggest leaving no later than 6:30am (possibly earlier - we usually leave SSR or VWL at 6:20-30am, but we have a car to park at the CR in front of the entrance).

You best bet is a cab, though. You may feel really rushed if you wait until 6:40 as I think POR has up to 4 stops on its bus route. If it turns out that their are any ECVs loading on any of those stops, you'll definitely be short on time. The ride over, will take about 7-10 minutes depending on traffic, then you have to account for walking to the monorail and waiting for it, unloading/loading, and then monorail to CR. I think budgeting 30 minutes for all of this will be cutting it very close, but it's doable if everything goes right.

As far as characters, we've always seen Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto. Breakfast is average - not great, but not bad - mainly the characters are the big plus :) We love it though because of the characters and go at opening times every time we are there :)

We at there early one morning and there were 5 characters - the Fab 5 no less. However, it was loud, crowded, and the food was sub-par. My son much preferred the Tusker House breakfast for those type characters.

You'll get Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald. I disagree about the TH though. We had a terrible experience there. The food wasn't any better than at CM's and the characters stopped at our table so quickly that the picture is blurry!

But I do agree that you'd need to leave earlier than 6:40. I bet the cab would be the best bet and less stressful than the bus.

we stayed at POR and had a 720am ressie there in November of last year. I forget what time we got to the bus stop. A bus pulled up and I think it was for Magic Kingdom but he asked us where we were going and we said to breakfast at CM's and he said to hop on and he pulled us to the front door of CR...didn't even have any extra stops at POR!!! So nice!!!

Edit: We enjoy the food there!!! This trip we are eating there for a late supper!

We've eaten at Chef Mickey's for breakfast the past three years and the food is good (standard breakfast buffet fare). Chef Mickey's has Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald & Pluto & we've always had good character interaction there. With a 7:10 am adr, I would suggest a cab. Buses will begin running as early as 6:15 am, but they are unpredictable & infrequent that early in the morning. It's possible an MK bus driver might take you directly to the Contemporary, but there is no guarantee - it's just pure luck depending on the bus driver you get.

Thanks for the advice! I will plan on us leaving earlier, with there being 9 of us going I would like to avoid the cab idea :)
