EARLY CHECK IN: December 15th, 2007 - Seven night Western - 12/15/07

Hey! Has anybody bought the Holiday decorations for their stateroom? A $85 tree might be questionable...

Are you guys going to buy?

That seems kind of hight for a centerpiece. I don't think we will be doing any of their decorations.

I don't think I have seen you on this thread. Are you new? Welcome!

Welcome back Sharon. Also, welcome to the BIACO3 family. I don't think we'll be buying any Disney decorations.

We survived our busy weekend. I think that with regards to John and his sleep issues, I guess it's better to be sleep deprived on a Disney cruise than at home.

Cristi ~ how was Rachel's birthday? Is she feeling better? $9.99 for a tux? That is great. I'm trying to plan our pirate costumes. MIL is a great sewer, but I ask her to do so much. I'm going to see what I can find at Good will.

Welcome to the BAIC03 family (the only one on our board who has fewer posts than me, so must be a fellow noobie)!

Welcome back, Sharon - good to hear from you and :cheer2: congrats to your DS. What a fantastic opportunity for the two of you!

$9.99 sounds just right for a tux that will probably be worn less than twice before he outgrows it, Cristi. Gotta love eBay - we've bought a ton from people on the site and have yet to have a bad experience. Is he getting Mickey & Co accessories? DH threatened to wear those for our wedding...

I haven't read about DCL Christmas decorations - where's everyone getting the information? No way would I pay $85 for a tree, given that we're not on the cruise over the 25th. I did find tiny tabletop trees at Michael's ($3.99/ea) which are cute, and bought some strings of battery-powered lights to go on them (thanks for the tip, Stacie!). I thought DD could have some fun decorating. :santa: As far as other decorations, I don't want to have anything breakable so we may just stop at the trees and some lights I bought to string around the room. I'm shipping that stuff ahead of time so my DH doesn't faint at how much stuff we're packing.

Susan, Rachel seems to be doing better. We went out for breakfast on her b'day and then yesterday the rest of the family came over for cake and presents. We got her a stereo for her b'day(book shelf type) so now all I hear is boom, boom, boom.... coming from her room.

Kathryn, 9.99 is a great price for his tux. Nobody else even bid on it. This is the first thing that I have actually won. :) I wasn't planning on getting the Mickey and Co accessories, but I might look into it.

Welcome back Sharon!!! Congrats to your son!! I'm glad you landed long enough to pack.

About the Chrismtas exchange--I bought a Christams stocking for everyone who is participating (I bought a few extras so there is still time to join) to hang from the fish outside their door. We were thinking small items from your area (postcards, magnets, keychains, etc), fun items (glow sticks, tatoos, stickers, etc), or whatever else you wanted to do.

Glad Rachel is feeling better and had a good birthday. You know she's a tween when you can hear her music through the walls. :)

Today is the 13th, we leave in one month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the time to panic. Patty--When you're done sewing your pirate costumes do you want to start on mine? The fabric is still in the bag. The white t-shirts aren't tie dyed yet. I need to get busy. I got a proof from the t-shirt shop yesterday and those shirts are heading to production.

DD started basketball yesterday, their practices alternate between before school (6:30) and after school. Our neighbor is the coach and has a daughter on the team so she rides in with them, to bad they can't come over and wake her up a 5:45.

We're having the debate at our house on whether to buy a real tree and pull out all the decorations or not. We aren't getting back until the 23rd and I hate to put it all away right after we get home. I can't imagine Andy and a Christmas tree, it's bad enough trying to keep the cat out of it. On the other hand, I would hate to not have a tree it just wouldn't feel right. I think we'll do the same as Kathryn for the cruise, send down a tabletop tree to put on the desk. I wonder if I could put the battery powered lights around our verandah? Ok, all I'm doing is thinking of more things I need to buy and do, I'll be stopping that now.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

We leave a month from tomorrow.  Lot of stuff to do. Christmas shopping, wrapping, decorating, cards and cruise prep. We will put a tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving. We have an artificial tree though not a real one. I have started shopping, but am not anywhere near finished.

We are leaving at noon exactly one month from today. :cool1: I cannot believe it's practically here.

Stacie ~ are the stockings one per family or one per person? I saw some cute Princess and Cars things for the little ones. I'm just not sure about quantity.

Some of us have been posting since March 2006. We are finally going to meet and cruise together!! :dance3:

Hi everyone!

Happy birthday to Rachel. Are all of the recent birthdays celebrating on the cruise? That would be fun. What's Rachel listening to these days? DD and I went to the Hannah Montana concert two weeks ago - it was cute. We definitely like the Hannah Montana stuff better than the Miley Cyrus music.

Stacie, thanks for buying the stockings. And, it's just inhumane to get a child up before 6am! Makes you wonder what they were thinking. Are they sharing a gym or something? My DD's team last year had one practice a week where the practice ended at 9pm. Then she still had to get home, shower and chill before she went to sleep - that was tough on her.

We're having the Great Tree Debate, too. I'm all for putting up our fake tree and buying some fresh garland when we get home so we can still have the scent in our house, but that's not going over too well. We'll see.

DD's GS troop is working on their couch potato badge at our house tomorrow night. It requires watching an hour of TV with commercials. :happytv: Apparently it's also called the Media Awareness badge so there will be some learning going on. :teacher:

Kathryn, that is funny the couch potato badge. :happytv: I am sure that our girls would like that. :) Rachel like Hannah Montana too. High School Musical and I am not even sure what else. I really probably should check out what she has downloaded to her MP3.

Couch Potato badge? They didn't have that the two years I was a girl scout.

I think it's officially called the Media Awareness badge. Do you remember that series of GS posters from a couple of years ago, with photos of girls out doing amazing things - whitewater rafting, rappelling, etc - and the tag line was, "There is no couch potato badge"? Well, apparently some girls got together and lobbied for the couch potato badge, so here we are. Strong girls, indeed.

1 month, 3 hours, and 40 minutes till our flight to Orlando. According to DD's teacher the trip is all she talks about.

Stacie - You're on your own with the sewing. I haven't made much progress. If you want to make the trip down 1-35 we can go into mass production mode. I was off Monday for the federal holiday and didn't do a darn thing productive.

John slept until 5:40 this morning. :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2::cool1:

I hope it's the start of a new phase. He was stirring around midnight, but he didn't wake up. Thanks everyone for your words of advice and encouragement. Sleep feels so good!! There is no sleeping smiley.

I had to get in on the fun too! IT'S THE 15TH!!!!

We have waited a long time! Only one more month!!

Susan--I'm so glad that John and you got some good sleep. I bought one stocking per family but I have bought some goodies for the kiddos too. I was just going to put them in the stockings too and let the parents distribute.

We survived the 1st birthday. Sunday we had cake at my parents, last night we had church and then presents and cake at home. Here are a couple pics:

We had birthday pictures taken yesterday, I'll post the link later this afternoon.

Hope everyone has a good day.

No fair--I tried to post this message including all your smilies and happies and I got an error message that you can only post 25 at a time, guess some of yours will have to go so I can keep all mine.

Yea one month to go :cloud9: . I better start packing. Wait a minute I didn't unpack from from the Med cruise just took the dirty clothes out:lmao: . Don't be surprised if Beth & Sharon aren't dressed up, they don't like to dress up. I have other issuses, I can't worry what clothes they are wearing. I kept leaving hints to father/grandfather. I have tried. I don't have the money to buy them clothes. Beth lost her mother about 15 years ago & her father thinks as long as she is dressed it is ok.(I'm like a mother to Beth, I try when I can) Sharon Samantha is my Goddaughter& I used to keep her looking nice. She is at the stage she doesn't care. So please try to understand if they don't meet the standards. I did tell Father no shorts for dinner.

Stacie, Andy looks so cute
