EARLY CHECK IN: December 15th, 2007 - Seven night Western - 12/15/07

Happy (late) Birthday Stacie!!!!! I was checking in on the other thread with all of my old friends and saw them wishing you a happy b'day!!! :bday: :cake:

Well, I survived Unit camp with the Girl Scouts. We had a total of 55 or 56 people up there. 41 of them were girls. It was intereseting though because the majority of the people had never been to a girl scout camp before. We were mostly in lodges, with one small troop tent camping. This was the first unit camp I had been to where we didn't have food service. We did all of the cooking(the girls did). I was one of three people in charge of the camp so I was pretty much on the go the whole time. I think it was a success though. My DD said it was the best one yet. We did a space theme and my DBIL brought up his two telescopes Sat night. The girls got to see the moon, Saturn and Jupiter. There was also another leader who knew a lot about constellations so she had a group of girls looking for those.
We also did a memory stone for our fallen leader. We were able to place it next to the memorial we did for her co-leader a few years ago. It was really nice.
No more Girl Scouts until August! :cool1:

Today was the last day of Kindergarten for DD. It was a bit sad for me as she is my only one. It's been a busy 2 weeks, field day, field trip, a graduation ceremony and party.

Now we have 5 weeks before she goes back. Two of those weeks will be swim lessons, one will be a trip to Ohio to visit friends, one is filled with dress rehersal and dance recital. I also want her to spend some time with my parents.

I might get to check more frequently, or I may be so busy that you guys don't hear from me until July 17 when dd goes back to school.

dutch_girl_scout...hope you're having a better day today.

Happy Belated Birthday Stacie.

I was a girl scout when I was young. My twin & I were CIT. We did it all summer for Day camp. We had a blast.

I'm have surgey on Tuesday, having my gallbladder taken. No big deal . It is to be out patient (any thing less then 23 hours),if there all now big problems. If so then the DR will cut me. Pray he doesn't.

Planning another cruise. Found a great trip for MED. on Celebrity. Going with a friend. Next October 2007. That means I really have to buckle down & save money. I have OCD with money. I buy things I don't need, with money I don't have, to stay in plastic bags, that I can't found :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Plus I may do a WDW trip in May 2007 with my Red Hat friends :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:. Now I'm telling my age

Happy birthday Stacie!! Today is my birthday!!!!!!!!!!! I am OLD!!!! :thumbsup2

Hey guys! Thanks for the birthday wishes. Happy Birthday Tammy!!!

Sharon--I hope everything goes well for you.
Cristi--It sounds like you campout was a great success! I'm sure the girls will remember it for a long time.

I am feeling better, it's probably a good thing I haven't had time to think about everything, too busy running kids everywhere. I got a countdown for my desktop and am 43% of the way through my pregnancy! :Pinkbounc

Well, it's already bedtime here, talk to you all tomorrow, thanks for the good wishes!

He swimms 200 freestyle, backstroke, 100 freestyle, backstroke &a 4x 50 relay. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 We will be there all day & all evening. The evening is open ceremoties(SP), then fire works then a dance. :dance3: We'll get home around 10:00pm.
Saturday he has to be there 8:00 am & it will go to about 4:00pm. Long week-end. This is all the activies till October when he stars bowling.

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. I will be moving on the 26th. I have alot of packing to do. We are closing on the house next week. I guess I am excited and nervous. But I guess I have to be a grown up with a mortgage. Ha ha!

Sharon--Good luck to your son, sounds like a busy weekend, but worth it.

Tammy--Hope everything goes well with the house and the move.

My week of stress and roller coaster emotions ended on a high, our second choice for contractor FINALLY submitted his bid and it was very reasonable. He thinks everything will be done by the end of August. I translated that into he has two extra months to get it done. The other good thing is after calling 30 ads for apartments and houses for rent during construction (Uh, yeah, I'd like to rent for just two months, and I have a dog and cat that will be coming too, are you interested?) we found a house that we can rent, it even has a hookup for a washer and dryer! It's only a two bedroom but it's only for 8 weeks and one of the kids can sleep on the couch. Plus they'll each be gone at camp twice for a week each.

Thanks for letting me ramble on once again, hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

I have been having problems trying to post all day. Anyone else?
I am glad you got your house figured out Stacie!
Good luck to your son Sharon!
Tammy, so it looks like you will already be in Tennessee when we come through for vacation next month. Would you be up for a short meet?

Oh Cristi!! I would be up for a short meet. When will you be in Tennessee? I will be going there on the 30th since I need a day or two to clean up this place before we leave. You could come and see my empty house--well, lots of boxes but not furniture, yet. We could practice echos....Ha!~

Tammy, we fly in to Nashville July 7th. We are going to stay somewhere in town (or maybe Springfield) the 7th and 8th and then leave on the 9th to drive up to my grandmother's in Kentucky. I found out that on the 8th there is a big family reunion in Ridgetop so we will get to be there for that. Then after Kentucky we will be driving down to Montgomery, AL, probably on the Wed after the 7th. So it would probably be best to try to meet up either on Friday after we get to town or Wed when we drive back through town to go to AL. Sunday might work, but I am not sure.

Just let me know when you want to stop by. Either will work for me. I will PM you my email address so you can let me know and I can send you directions. Well, once I figure out how to get there myself! Ha Ha.

thanks for all the good wishes for my son. He earned 2 gold place,1 bronze, & 4th place.

Bad thunderstorms were a hour away on Friday. So at 2:00pm just as son was ready to do one of his events, they had to close the pool.So alot of events were missed. They still had 3hours of events to do.

We got home around 10:30pm, & he had to be there next morning at 8:00am.

Yesterday we were home by 4:00pm. Then today he a pool party at his coach's house. It is now 7:30 & we are done swimming for the season.

dutch_girl_scout, did I miss something, I have short term memory lose  Are you adding on to your house, :confused3.
Now someone was looking for a new house. I never went back & read all the posts :surfweb: I started about 10-15 pages back.

two more days to surgery. I'm getting alot nervous

Hope everyone had a pleasent week-end :sunny:

Cristi are you using Glitter Maker? Mine isn't working, stop working about a week ago

Well folks it's me agin I have just spent nearly 2 hours reading all the posts, starting from the very begining. Now I'm caught up on all the old news :thumbsup2

When I was in Girl Scouts, they only have a few choices of cookies. They were 1.00 a box & the trip made .45cents. Me & my twin thought we got the 45 so we spent it :rotfl2: :lmao: . Mom & Dad had to fork up the money  They weren't happy campers either. Back then it might have been if we sold 100 boxes that was a lot of money.

Sharon-Congrats to your son!!!

Sorry to confuse you. When we found out I was expecting, we called a few contractors to bid on putting an addition on our house, the one that said he could do it in our time frame and budget looked at it the first week of May. We hadn't ever heard back from him, so we kind of started looking at houses to buy. We missed our dream house by three hours becasue we didn't have our financing pre-approved. Now the contractor has gotten back to us with a reasonable bid and still within our timeframe so we're adding on.

It's funny about the Girl Scout cookies, our troop gets a measly $0.35, the cookies are $3.50 per box. When my troop was Brownies they thought that by selling cookies we could do anything, know they realize that selling cookies is a lot of work for $0.35.

Surgery went well, Dr was able to do lap(laser). Am sore though. Thank goodness he didn't have to cut me. keep me in the hospital over night. Feel like a ton of bricks feel on me. Can't drive for two weeks. Stopped taking the pain medication every four hours. Just take it when I really need it.

I hear it is going to be real hot on Sunday,I'll just stay in the bed room with the A/C on.

The boards a quiet were is everyone.

Well going to lay back down, been up for a few hours.

Happy Fathers day to all the Dad's out there. May your dreams be about a cruise that is so faraway.

Sharon, I am glad that your surgery went well. Try to relax this weekend and let yourself heal.

I just got back from Tennessee where we closed the loan on the house, and purchased and arranged delivery on a refrigerator. We got an LG French door with the ice and water in the door. I liked it alot but boy was it expensive!!! We did get a delivery charge rebate, a 200 dollar Home Depot rebate card and 12 months no interest no payment, as well as 10 pecent off for using the Home depot charge card, oh, and 100 dollars off from LG. But if we don't pay it off (which we will) in the 12 months, it would really add up the interest. The interest on those cards is OUTRAGEOUS!! I have to go and get a washer tommorrow! Ughhhh!

Cristi--Just let me know when you want to meet, we can meet at my house or a restaurant close to the interstate or whatever is best provided I am not at work. I think my summer schedule is M-Th with fridays off.

Stacie--Glad the "surprise" is coming along well. Do you know the gender of the baby? Did you post that and I missed it? I bet you guys are having a great time with the anticipation.

I need to get unpacked and repack because I am going to meet with my dissertation chair, we are working on a paper together and we need to meet and discuss changes and so forth. You guys have a great day!
