EARLY CHECK IN: December 15th, 2007 - Seven night Western - 12/15/07

Sharon, when we get done with the bulldozer do you want me to bring it over and we'll work on your house? :rotfl2: When my ship comes in I'm going to move to a cruise ship. I read a thread once about how much cheaper living on a cruise ship is than a nusing home, three meals a day, laundry service, houskeeping, not to mention beaches, exciting ports, and beautiful scenery.

Tammy, if it makes you feel any better when I cleaned our bedroom closet out on Sat I got 3 huge boxes of stuff to donate, and 4 big plastic tubs plus 2 more boxes of stuff to keep. Think we had stuff crammed in?

Cristi, hope your staying cool, saw on the weather channel that somewhere in CO was 103 and tied a record. That's hot!

It's rainy here today, I had to take DS to driver's ed, otherwise I'd never be posting at 8am. Going back to bed in a little bit.

Stacie you are 2 funny. I need a bulldozer to haul it all to the dump. :rolleyes1

Never thought about living on a cruise ship. I could handle that. How much junk could you hold in a cabin. Oh the cabin host/hostess would take care of it for me. :dance3:

Welcome Sandy :wave2:

Thanks for all the moral support guys! I am beginning to wonder if all the boxes will fit in the apartment once the packing is done. ;) We are trying to dump everything that we don't want to move, seems to be alot of stuff we don't want to move. Ha Ha! The movers are coming on Monday, I still have alot to do, but I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And I only moved here 5 years ago. :rolleyes1

Bulldozer.... :lmao: that's funny Stacie!

I could handle living on a cruise ship if my ship comes in.

It has been really hot here. I think it is only supposed to get to the mid 80's today though. That will be a nice break. We have been tying a lot of record highs here and we broke one last week when we hit 102. :sunny: We just got public service bill yesterday and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. My neighbor said hers was $200, but ours was only $140.

Ok Cristi I read on the most embarrasing thread that you fell off the pier. I have my glass of wine on standby and I am ready to relax and have a good laugh. Ok what happened....and make it good????

We had just gotten off of the Doubloon Sail and Snorkle excursion in St. Thomas, we were busy talking to our new friends that we made on the excursion, I was on the outside of the group of us walking. Suddenly, I look down and see water instead of pier. :scared1: My first thought was Oh @#%$, I can't believe I fell in, then wondered how many people actually saw me, then I thought that I better swim up quick because the kids were freaking out. You should have seen everyone's faces when I popped back up. It was pretty funny (except for DD she was crying :sad1: ). I will admit that I had been drinking banana benders while on the excursion, but I wasn't drunk. Relaxed, yes, drunk, no. Apparently, I can't walk and talk at the same time. :confused3 :rotfl:

So, you guys will have to make sure that I don't fall in on the next cruise. I don't think I will be allowed to carry the bag with the cameras in it either. ;)

Sharon, feel free to laugh.... we all laugh about it now.... :lmao: :lmao:

Hi Everyone...

Just wanted to check in and catch everyone up (especially since I started the thread ;). It's been a while since I posted. Things have been hectic here. Well, a year and a half from today we will be arriving back at dock! I am definitely excited, but it is seems so far away.

We had an April Florida/Disney vacation which was great. Visited with my parents for a few days, then went to Disney. Stayed at BWV and had perfect weather. I took lots of pictures! The night before we left Disney, my sister from California flew in (unknown to my parents) and we spent the day in Epcot. We then went to my parents and surprised them. It was my Dad's 75th Birthday, so we had a cake and gave him a Nikon D70s Digital Camera for his birthday. He is a retired Professional Photographer, but hadn't gone fully digital yet......he was looking at buying it and was planning on selling some Ham Radio equipment to fund the camera...now he doesn't have to! He LOVES the camera....it was definitely the best present we could have bought for him. The only time I saw him that excited was when he came to see our son's when they were born. I also got the same camera, so I was able to get lots of great photos of our vacation.

At the end of April/beginning of May ended up in Tampa for work for a week...got to go back to WDW and Epcot by myself and take more pictures. I am planning on doing a Disney themed room for my youngest son using my photos.

I will post some pics....just been too busy to do it.

Work was busy with a Disaster Recovery test in May....we simulate losing all of the computers from our NJ office and bring them up in the Atlanta office. MANY months of planning, and several days of working all night. That went successfully, but was a LONG week.

Then in early June, we drove up to NJ to visit family....well, actually, we drove up 13 hours, I spent one day in NJ, then flew home. My wife and kids stayed in NJ for the week while I worked and got things done around the house. I then flew back to NJ, got the family packed and drove another 13 hours back to Georgia......WHEW that was a tiring week!

We have the DVC Member Cruise planned for October (Wow...only 4 months away!), but still don't know 100% if we can go. My sister is supposed to come down from NJ and babysit the kids, but she is still trying to work out her schedule. If it is too much trouble, we will just cancel that trip and take the cash we were going to spend and save it for the Dec 2007 cruise.

I am going this weekend to get the ball rolling on getting Scuba certified. If everything goes right, I will have my classroom/pool work on the weekend after the 4th, and go down to Panama City, FL for my Open Water Cert the following weekend. Wish me luck!

Well....I guess that catches everyone up.

So glad you are back, Unixadm! I have wondered what happened to you. Sounds like you have been really busy. Let us know when you post your pictures. :sunny:

Welcome back Unixadmin. I was just wondering where you were and you popped back up. :wave2: Can't wait to see your pictures!

So, Tammy, is everything all packed up and ready to go? You leave next week don't you?

I am thinking we could meet Friday the 7th. We get to town and I think we are staying close to the airport. I am waiting for my cousin to get back to me with a decent hotel so I am not just picking a place out of the book to stay. The last time I went back for a family thing we ended up in a REALLY BAD hotel. It was scary. Drug deals in the parking lot and the works. We stayed that one night and then moved to a better place the next day.

Welcome back Unixadm, sounds like the time before the cruise will go by really fast for you if you stay that busy.

Well, the remodeling saga continues, they can't survey for another 3 weeks and ($1200), we filled out the variance permit but the Planning and Zoning committee only meets once a month so July 11 is the soonest it can be heard. In the meantime we looked at a house to buy last night and submitted an offer. Who knows at this point, it just makes my head spin. :confused3 I guess whatever is meant to be is meant to be.

In the meantime I will escape to the DIS board and dream about blue skies and turqouise water.

Tammy and Cristi sounds like your mini-meet is shaping up. My March cruise has all kinds of Midwestern families, don't know if we'll have time to meet any pre-cruise or not, it's already under 9 months.

Hope everyone has a good night.

Welcome back Unixadm :wave2:

Stacie hope all goes well with you. Here is some pixiedust:

If you get your new house, what about the bulldozer for me :rolleyes1 :lmao:

can't sleep so :surfweb: to see what is new.

Go to DR at noon to see :3dglasses if everything is ok. Hope he lets me drive I've been in the house since June 14 when I came home. :bounce:

Well already thinking about another cruise late 2008 or early 2009. Want to take DGODD princess: for her 13 birthday. :dance3: Big problem her birthday is Aril 1, it will always be spring break & the price is higher. Already checked when Easter is for 2009. April 12, I'll see. One of the four school districts go with the first week in April no matter when Easter is. The others may follow. That would be great if they did. which in 2009 would be cheaper then Easter week.

Sharon hope all goes well at the Dr. for you. Thanks for the PD, its hard to know right now what to do. We'll have to work on the bulldozer.

Don't know if we'll rebook on board in March or not, I think we might just pick a random date and postpone if we have to. We need to get DS to the Grand Canyon and/or Yellowstone before he leaves for college (next 5 years), but they don't sound near as fun as DCL. Then again we could do that in the summer and save DCL for Christmas or Spring Break like we've been doing.

We're going camping this weekend. Temps are supposed to be in the mid-80s lows in the 60s. They changed all the campgrounds here a few years ago where 75% of the spots are by reservation, 25% are first come-first get. They accept reservations 240 days (8 months) in advance, who plans that far ahead to go camping? What that means to us is when we get the whim to camp we have to get a spot on Wed and pay through the weekend because the campground is full by Thursday night. The other down side is you can keep your spot for two weeks, give it to someone else, then take it back, some people have the same spot all summer they just "switch" every two weeks. If we want our spot for the 4th of July, we'll have to pay for it from now until then even though we don't stay down there much during the week. Crazy government rules!

Well, that's about enough from me, hope everyone has a good day, I'll keep you posted on the saga of the house.

Went to Dr today every thing is looking good. Still sore ;)

Stacie, wish I could go camping with you, I love to camp. Some of our best times were camping. First we started with a small tent, then a little bigger. One week-end we went camping near my MIL in VA. It started pouring buckets. We ended up staying w/ MIL. Next day we went back & tent was on the ground. then we went to a pull-up, better then a tent still had to put it down in the rain :confused3

Hope every one has great week-end

Goood morning
I finely located 12/15/07 cruise :cool1: We cruised 4/29/06 and I booked this cruise with the intent of moving, but I decided to keep it as a suprize for my two DD's Christmas Gift.

May I join your group. :cool1: :cheer2: party:

Hey, I like your screen name, ulittletinker! I am happy to see our group grow. :cool1: We have a very friendly group! Come on in!

ulittletinker, welcome :wave2:

Well I woke up yesterday at 4:00 & couldn't get back to sleep. At 4:30 I had this great magnet force of going to Disney World for Christmas. By 9:00am I had ressies. WOW I wish I lived close to Disney. 2.5 hours by plane.
First I just booked it from DEC18 -24. Then went to the site & saw all the neat things going on. 10:00am this am I changed it to DEC18-27.

I can't wait. :dance3: I bought the basic meal plan so I'll know up front I know what I'm spending. Booked the Merry Christmas Party also.

Just my adult (MC) son & me, maybe my daughter she lives in Maine

Ok people ask how I afford this, I plan my cruises well in advance. I should tell them NOYB  . Well I don't smoke or drink, hubby smokes. One carton a week x 25.00 x4 100.00x 12 =1200 dollars a year. He can't figure it out. "Hello" your money goes into an ashtray. Needless to say he doesn't go with me much. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Second I'm on Disability(to young to retire) so I get a pension, plus SS. I'm not rich I just like to travel. I was forunite(Sp) to work for the state so that is why I get a Dis pension. That was in my favor. :thumbsup2
