Early 2012 Planners - anyone else?!

Well, I just asked DH when he wanted to go to DisneyW "next year" .. he said "Wait, we've not even taken this year's trip yet!" :confused3 I don't get it :rotfl2: ... actually we only go every 2-3 years, so we probably really won't go in 2012 ... is it too early to plan on 2013?

LOL never too early to plan!! Its part of the fun! :surfweb: checking the disboards, waiting for free dining to be announced!!! we are going in 2012 and i think i have our whole week planned already!!

Definitely going to WDW in October 2012 for my 30th birthday! I can't wait to book. :) I hope I can get into the AoA resort with free dining! ;)

It looks like we're going to be going in January 2012. We were supposed to be going this August, but because of DS's HS Football, we can't, then we thought, ok, November, nope, the only weekend we can go, Football is still going on... sigh.... so now we're at Jan 19-24th, 2 rooms at POP! Hopefully some kind of GP code will be released, I had a FD pin for August. Between not having FD, my 2yo turning 3 and not being able to stay at POR, Jan is costing me more $$, oh well, at least the parks won't be crowded, and it won't be hot! I don't care, as long as I'M GOING!!!! :cool1:

trying to decide if i should do the room only ressie now.. really no advantage to it im finding out.. the reseveration person i spoke to yesterday said Art of Animation will not be opening until fall 2012. it was suppossed to open spring 2012 but it has been pushed back?? anyone else know of an opening time???

I never heard spring or fall, just 2012. I hope it's open by October!

I am also planning a trip for June 2012. The dates I'm looking at now are June 2-8. Our dream resort is AKL so we plan on renting DVC points and staying in a 2 bedroom. This trip will be me, DH, DS who will be 9, DD who will be 4 and my mom. I've been to both DW and DL multiple times. My mom has been to DL but not for many years. DS went to DL when he was 4 1/2. DH and DD have never been!

We are trying to keep this trip a surprise from the kids (I guess I better stop talking Disney when they are around then :lmao:). We are driving from Indianapolis to DW. I would like to leave after dinner time the day before we are supposed to check in and drive through the night (with 3 adults, it shouldn't be a problem). I would love to wait to tell the kids until they wake up in the morning while on the road. I think that would be awesome!

Anyway, I have lots of things written on paper for my planning purposes. I'm also addicted to these boards...just waiting for January to come so I can actually begin to book things! Yay for tax refund and bonuses from work! :woohoo: Happy planning! :wizard:

ME TOO!!! ME TOO!!!!

I was originally thinking April of 2012 (during the kids spring break) but now Im leaning more towards June again (our last 2 trips were during June - leaving town the last day of school...)

I'm looking at either 8 or 9 nights at the BC - which is SO EXCITING and SCARY at the same time..We stayed at WL the last 2 trips and LOVED IT, but decided we wanted a "change" this time and why not try an Epcot hotel - we like dinners in Epcot, so this way we'll be closer!!

I'm already trying to get DH to talk about the trip and plans and what to do/see & where to eat, but he wants NOTHING to do with that right now - so, Im left with taling to you guys and my boys (right now 9 & 11 but will be 10 & 12 when we go back next year).....

We're going to TRY to have this trip be a little "less" rushed than the previous 2, so we'll see how that works out....:rotfl:

I CANT WAIT!!!!

This is all I talk about at home, trying to figure out who is going ( adult kids 19 and 24 and granddaughters 5 weeks and 22 months) and I am driving everyone nuts!! as we get closer, I will start the itiniary and that when the crazinesss really starts!! I love every minute of planning our trip, we drive from jersey. It seems that we plan for a whole year and as it gets closer we are rushing to get everything packed and togeter last minute! we have started saving all of our change for gas. the last time it worked out great, probably not so much this time with the gas prices!!! cant wait!! so excited!!

OH!!!! OH!!!! OH!!!! ME ME ME! I've been planning this for about two months now! My family and I will be going July 2012. Dates are already decided on, along with the hotel. :) I absolutely CANNOT wait! DD will be turning two while on vacation and this will be everyone's first family vacation. We are all very deserving of this trip and I cannot wait.:woohoo: I will keep everyone up to date! The real fun begins the first wk of August when we can book dates! :dance3:

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Just booked our VERY FIRST EVER trip to WDW!

We are California-bred and are 4-times-a-week-minimum Disneyland goers, but never been to the World!

We just booked for January 10-17.

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Now looking into renting DVC points (that is, if I can't convince him to let us buy in ourselves before then :rotfl2:)

Nice!! I love hearing about first-timer trips. I just went to Disneyland for the first time a couple weeks ago. :)

I can't wait until August! Then I can really go into full planning mode! :woohoo:

YEAY!!! so exciting isnt it?? where are you staying?? Did you plan something special for your DD B'day?? we used to go in july and always the week of my youngest daughters b'day. she is handicapped, Spina Bifida, so it was always extra special. We always do Crystal Palace breakfast for her birhday and make her wear her pin. We usually stay at Ft WIlderness cabins and I would make sure I called ahead to tell them it is her b'day and they have balloons waiting for her in our cabin when we got there!! so much fun! she will be 17 in 2012 when we go and I will still do that for her and make her wear her pin!!

Count me in! We are going March of 2012...on our first trip to WDW! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: We don't have definite dates yet, but I will get those narrowed down soon! We plan to stay off-site in a villa that my friend recommended.

Yesss! I CANNOT WAIT! We are Southern Californians who live about 15 mins away from Disneyland, so we cannot wait for a "whole new world." ;) If the new value resort isn't available to be booked by then we'll be staying @ ASM. I have been looking for A LOT of ideas for her birthday. I plan on surprising her w/ a disney princess package from Disney Floral Arrangements, a cake (that I really haven't been able to find) :/, breakfast @ Cindy's, and a dinner for CM. If there is anything else that you have in mind that I can do to make her visit extra special let me know. She is afterall, the only princess in the family.. yet. :goodvibes Also, since it is my family's first vacation I will be doing special things for them as well. Just don't quite know what yet. :confused3 That sounds like so much fun!! Do you know about what month you will be going? No one is ever too old for Disney, I'm sure she loves you "making" her wear that pin. :):cheer2:

Awesome!! California bred is the way to go! I live in Whittier right by the 5 frwy :) :donald::donald: I will be going in July! Enjoy your vacation!

Count me in. We are going for 11 nights March/April. My DH can only come for 1 week, so he'll join us for the later part of the trip. The kids and I will stay at POFQ and then we'll switch to WLV(hoping to rent points for a studio) We are also planning on spending time at the beach for the last 2 nights.

We just got back from our first visit- and we're going back. We loved the perfect April weather and the crowds weren't too bad. So we're going back April or October in 2012. We have lots of home improvement projects & are worried that the trip might get pushed back to 2013 for budget purposes. But we loved it & can't wait to go back. It was honestly one of the most relaxing vacations ever. I've already picked out tentative April dates & have decided which park on which days. So keep your fingers crossed for me that we can make it back.

They are really working hard on the Art of Animation resort. We stayed at Pop and surprisingly the construction noise didn't bother us one bit. I'd like to know when the new resort will be open but we loved Pop so much that it'll be fine with us to stay there again.
