Early 2012 Planners - anyone else?!

Well wee were planning on going Sept of this year (2011) but I sat down and priced things out and well looked at our budget and we have some debt (actually mostly two loans we gave that were never paid back to us :( ) and we dont want to add this trip to our debt. So I crunched numbers and looks like we should have no problem paying everything off by April 2012. Maybe sooner but DH is self employed so we never know when he will have work (or make money on a job)...anyway if it is paid off sooner we might go Jan 2012 (last week for my bday) but as I type the more I think about it probably better to go with option 2 which is fall 2012 then we will know all bills are paid and we can save and do disney up right :)

So Fall 2012 DS will be starting Kinder so don't want to pull him second week of school to go when I originally thought (first week Sept)...so either Oct/Nov/Dec.

When do you guys think would be best. We want least crowd, we would like to swim but we would take less people/cheaper or being able to swim (and we know FL can go either way)...

Thinking Oct for food and wine....but would consider other times...

I know turkey day can be busy but what about weekend right after?

Oh and this will be DH and DS (almost 4 now but will be 5 for trip) first trip. I have only been once 21 years ago.

Just booked our January 2012 trip (we are DVC members). We will be staying at BLT from 1/16-1/20 in a Studio, Theme Park View. We are celebrating my DH's birthday. So excited, can't wait.

I am planning on going from February the 26th to March the 8th 2012. My boyfriend has no interest in going at all so I will be going solo, which is fine with me because I'm a morning person. I like the idea of getting up early and getting to the parks before the crowds get there. I'm going to go nuts waiting to book this! August can't come soon enough! By the way this is going to be my first time there. I went to Disneyland when I was 11 and have always wanted to go to Disney World.:cheer2:

We will be going back in early Dec 2012. We are skipping Disney in 2011:(. is it too early to plan for Dec 2012, I don't think so:cool1:

We've picked our dates!! March 2nd through 10th!! :yay:

Dad and the two boys don't want to go again until 2013 (they're waiting for the new Fantasyland reveal), so this will be a "girls only" trip!

Going with my two daughters during my oldest daughter's spring break from college.

I can't wait!! My girls love Disney just as much as I do, so we're going to have a ball and do it up right! Definitely staying on-site this time, but won't be able to pick a resort until the 2012 rates & packages become available in August.

Planning ahead for sometime in either September or October 2012. Most of the details are still up in the air as it's a surprise trip my DSis and I are planning for her mom (my step mom). Were thinking of The Beach Club, 8 days, Deluxe dining. It will be her first trip, DSis' 2nd and my 3rd.

We just returned yesterday and are already planning on going back! :rotfl:

Maybe we need an Disney Addiction Support Group?! :lmao:

Looking at January 21st through 28th, so we're there for our youngest daughter's 10th birthday ... or March 3rd through 10th, which is our oldest daughter's Spring Break from college.

Happy Planning to all my 2012ers!!

We are also planning to go March 3rd through 10th, I have two that will be on college spring break!!!!

When do we get to book our packages. I keep reading in other places that you can book room only for 2012, but can't find where this is.

We had been tossing around several dates for our 2012 trip, but it looks like the fates decided for us. My 1997 totally paid for, Ford Explorer decided that 130,000 miles were all she could take. We had to trade her in for something else before something went so bad wrong with her that she wasn't worth anything in trade-in value. We were thinking of making the trip in January, but now that we will have a car payment, we need the extra time to be able to save for the trip.

Sorry Wookie. I got a Ford Ranger at 130k and I'm listening for the slightest thing so I can get ahead of it. I hope you find a $2000 scratch ticket so you can still have your trip.

We are going to WDW June 2012, then we will go on a cruise..It is for my youngest childs' highschool graduation and he is going off to the Marines...I will have quite a troop...my oldest and her mate and step daughter and what will be 6 month old twins, my youngest daughter, her mate and their 10 month old baby, my son and myself.....If any of you have any ideas of something that special that I can do for my son since he is going off please give me some ideas..This is going to be a fun yet sad time for me so I really want it to be special :dance3::dance3::dance3:

My DH said the other day that we could go back in 2012. I'm so excited. I'm need to start using my Disney Visa and rack up some points.... of course, I have to pay it off every month too. Last time we went, we had the DxDP, and I loved it.... don't know if that is going to be the case in 2012... mabye if I can go during free dining and upgrade... I'm think about going for the halloween party, but that would mean no waterparks  so I don't know if that will be an option either. I'm really hoping the Animation resort will be open by the time we go. Oh, I can't wait to start planning!!!!

@letthewookiewin thank you for the links I thought about those as well..he would enjoy that I think :thumbsup2

@moniqueelaine, your welcome. I hope you have a truly magical trip. I remember right before my bil went into the Army, my in laws did several trips with him. I have decided that the one thing I will never regret spending money on, is on trips with my boys. They grow up way too fast. It's funny, when your the kid time went so slowly, and when your the parent it seems to go in double time.
Also, if you want anything non-Disney and he's into music, you could take him to see the Blue Man Group over at Universal City Walk. I haven't seen the BMG in Orlando, but the hubby and I saw them in Vegas. We are thinking about taking the boys to see them on our trip. If you buy the tickets to them online, they are $15 cheaper than if you get them at the gate.

I just started planning for our first trip with our DS who will be almost three next year in June when we go. I can't wait for his first trip to Disney. Our dates are June 3 - June 10 at Pop. :cool1:

We are aiming for June 23-30, 2012 staying at CBR. Hopefully it all works out, because I have already started my planning, lol!:cool1:

Can't wait until the booking opens up!

Going May 8-18, 2012! Doing a split stay between the Poly and GF (though that *might* change to just the Poly). Will have DxDP. Can't wait!

I've been planning my next trip for a while now. We are going in June 2012 (June 3-13 to be exact) and staying at the Wilderness lodge for the first time. So far the plan is very basic we will be going off property for the first time to go to universal IOA sometime in the middle of the week and we will go to check out star wars weekends on friday. I have a few of the restaurants we will go to pick out such as Ohana, Chef Mickey's and the Grand Floridian for tea. I can't wait to start planning it in more detail.

we are planning August 2012, cant wait!! trying to decide where to stay depending on who is going. so far maybe 4 adults 1 16 year old DD, 17 month GD and 3 year old GD. really dont want to to a value, but may have to. Moms paying for the room! Planning has started!! i was chatting on line with reservations.. you can make a room only reservation 499 days in advance?? non discounted... then change it over to a package when pricing comes out?? has anyone ever done this??
