Dis transport has lost their collective minds.

Today I looked up what my options were for a direct connect from MCO to Disney Grand Floridian. The Minnie bus for this charges as of today's prices is $250.00 plus tip. Just out of curiosity I contacted a limo service. For a stretch Lincoln MKT Stretch limo the cost for the same drive is, guess what, $250.oo plus tip. I have no problem paying for service that meets my needs, but when Dis sends a painted Suv and charges the same as a luxury limo has Dis officially lost the plot?

Anyone who pays this price for this service has lost the plot, not just Disney. Lots of private services available in the $100 range, and Mears charges $16 per person if you don't mind a bus or minivan.

What are you talking about? There is no “Minnie bus”. Do you mean a Minnie Van through Lyft? Private transportation through Mears and others is pricey as well. You need to see if it makes more sense for you to do private or Mears motor coach based on your party size.

Prices I've found are almost all $125 each way with the exception of Minnie Van which quotes at $199 as of last week (wonder if that has gone up?). There was one at $109 each way and one at $135 each way out of probably 8 that I checked. So $300 round trip including tip is average. Now I'm getting into the gritty...how much for carseats, how much for grocery stop.

I actually called them for the quote and process today. It has gone up to $250.

Apparently they haven’t. This is not a new service. It’s been available to club level guests for maybe 2 years. It expanded to all guests with the price increase several months ago. Obviously there are people willing to pay for it.

In general the Minnie product is for people whose budget allows for more wiggle room because it's branded for Disney, meaning they prefer the Disney touch. The carseat option may also slide towards that as opposed to booking an uber with carseats.

I agree with you the costs for either are high but personally we just do a rental car, we did use an uber in September to get from a close enough off-site hotel to the TTC but that is a one-off.

When you need to transport a power wheelchair, the Minnie Van has an option for that. There not many other options for direct airport to resort with only your party when you have a power wheelchair. Plus the service is top notch. That is why I spend the extra to have that service.

Thank you for posting this. The accessible Minnie van is a good option for guests that need a dependable accessible ride service.

No Disney hasn’t. It’s out of my price range but those who do still book MV airport transport generally say they do so in large part for the CMs. (And the service has exploded if you chat with MV drivers so the demand part of the equation is not in doubt.) The CMs are extensively trained & not illegally overworked. Outside of Disney you’re crossing your fingers what the company claims is true so I’m not about to judge those who chose to book Disney over other transport.

(And a stretch limo?! What is this the early 2000s? Get an Escalade or something already!)

The price change happened at least a couple months ago but anyone who was booked under “old” rates wasn’t affected.

HOWEVER, reports have been the new price includes tip. At 20% of the fare it still makes MVs the most expensive but not as much as OP stated since they assumed tip was in addition.
