Big reason I'm against the three being pushed (Cabo, Tahoe and Vegas) is largely because I already have these locations covered as a Worldmark owner. Don't need them again ... I want really, truly new locations.I do understand folks not interested in purchasing at other locations, but I am surprised at some of you reacting so negatively. You don't want other vacation options? I took a tour recently at World Mark. They are very similar to DVC in that they sell points. The BIG difference is that they have over 60 locations you can use your points. I know you all love DW, but why fight other locations? Doesn't cost you anything! Think of the options. Think of the possibilities!![]()
They are obviously looking seriously at Tahoe, Vegas, and Cabo. I think that Tahoe and Cabo have some potential, but think that other destinations such as Colorado, British Columbia, Santa Fe, San Francisco and near Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, and Yosemite would be good possible locations as well.
I know that Hilton Head and Vero Beach didn't work out great for Disney, but also believe that a) they didn't purchase the ideal locations, and b) these locations have gotten significant more business over the past few years. So, HH & VB would have done better with better site decisions and would have still sold better in present locations today than they did 10 years ago.
I'm not a DVC member, but I am a Pacific Northwesterner who loves Disney parks and has always had an interest in possibly purchasing DVC.
I just don't get it though. They've barely even dipped their toes into developing DVC at Disneyland with their itty-bitty Grand Californian villas addition, and now their asking about Vegas, Mexico, and Lake Tahoe?
I'd be interested in another DVC resort at Disneyland.....or at a close by beach area so we could have both a Disneyland and beach vacation in one......or a DVC resort in the San Diego area (which is also a great family vacation spot).
Of course I'd be interested in any of those locations (Vegas, Mexico, Lake Tahoe) if they built some themeparks there along with the DVC resorts.![]()

Besides, even if I didn't already own WM, each location is well served by many other timeshare resorts. Fairly easy to trade in ... again ... I hope for fresh and new destinations.
so .. . .just curious--what would be "fresh and new"?
keep in mind some of us don't own Worldmark--as for me I currently only own DVC.
Options at Disney's parks in Tokyo and Hong Kong would be high on my interest list. NYC, especially w/in walking distance of the New Amsterdam Theatre, would be great. How about locations closer to National Parks (Yosemite, Yellowstone or the Grand Circle of So. Utah)? Each of these areas is under-served with respect to timeshare. West Coast beaches along CA & OR would also be appreciated as existing properties are generally difficult to book.so .. . .just curious--what would be "fresh and new"?
