Double Wide Stroller Should Be Banned

I propose a ban on indecisive people who walk while reading their maps and then come to a sudden and unexpected halt, causing me to step on the backs of their flip flops because the people walking too closely behind me have gone crashing into me at the sudden human traffic jam!

See, there might be widespread support for this ban, but how do you spot them? It's easy to see a double stroller - you can just turn it away at the gates... or better yet, don't even let it on the bus/monorail/ferry.

I suppose that you could have WDW security quietly escort the indecisive people out once they make their first bad pause...

Or causing me to slam into them with my doublewide stroller :lmao:

Ok ok I'm done now :goodvibes

i have twins too, and would highly recommend a MacLaren. They are expensive but worth every penny. They are as narrow as double come and steer great and hold up to lots of hard use. I always had an older sibling standing on the back rungs (yeah, yeah, terribly dangerous if I let go and his weight made the stroller fall backwards - believe me, lots of old bitties felt the need to point this out to me regularly). And, I sold it used after 2 years and got about $125 for it used! (but I'm also a neat freak and it looked remarkably clean despite it's constant use).

I have to second this for anyone interested. I have had several double strollers over the years and just purchased my first double maclaren. Love it! It folds so small it is great on the bus.
Now to the topic, the pages were going up faster than I could stop and read, so I haven't read everything( big mistake, I know) double strollers are a nessecity, my youngest two are less than 2 yrs apart, And even though I carry the baby in a sling alot we still need a place for both boys to ride. As for 2 singles that is crazy! Even if me and my hubby could push them I wouldn't be able to use that set up at home by myself. Should we buy extra strollers just for Disney? As for the shops, I went in every one I wanted this last trip and didn't bump anything or anyone. I did however see loose kids tearing several stores apart and a small child that broke a snow globe. I was particularly thrilled with the unrestrained unsupervised 5ish yr old who wandered over during MSEP to poke his hands in my baby's face and mouth. Maybe all people who don't want to use a stroller should be required to use a kidleash:rotfl:
Seriously I am not trying to be mean but I agree that it comes down to common courtesy and many types of people need to improve not just some of the stroller users

I think we are missing out on other important scourges.

men wearing tank tops
black socks and shorts
bald people

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I have thoroughly enjoyed this thread!

As usual, started with the latest page and immediately blew coffee out my nose (Thanks a lot Sleeping Becca). Now I have to go back to the OP and spend valuable housecleaning time getting caught up:cloud9:. Again, thanks a lot!!:cool1::goodvibes

Nice visual!:rotfl: I try never to be drinking anything while reading the DIS...just to avoid that very thing!

No, they don't charge for a ticket under the age of 3, so I'm guessing they're not going to cover that expense either. I guess you're just out of luck.

What about overly hairy people?:confused3
Yes those people too!
Hairy people.
The nerve.

Ugh.

Perhaps if we can get enough people banned I will be able to tour Disney alone with my family of non-tank top and black sock wearing, moderately haired, modestly weighted, median aged, white anglo saxon protestants.

I'll bet you're right. That's just craptastic. Maybe they'll at least loan me a pair of scissors so I can poke air holes in the box.
Poke the holes before putting the 2 year old in. Safety first!

Darn it all! Where's our thread lock? I thought that when we'd gathered the first five charter members of the "ban double strollers from WDW" facebook group, we had something special here.

Now, the thread is full of apparently reasonable people making light of things. There goes the neighborhood.

Or, at least, the over.

I have a facebook group for people who think that people who shave their forearms are creepy.

I know that may seem off topic but it is really not, most of them hate double strollers at WDW.

No thank you! You've seen my earlier posts... I have DD15 and DS13. I am well aware of the teenage issues; at least I can use time outs on a two year old!

Just my luck! I offered my swap to someone too savvy to fall for it! :lmao: Mine are 16 and 18. But at least they are boys. I hear we're REALLY in for it when our girl gets there....

Of course, you and Sleeping Becca just had to jump in. Voices of reason have been known to kill threads, y'know?

WELL I............. NEVER................

NOW SEE HERE............. I've been called a LOT of things here on the DIS.

"VOICE OF REASON" has just never been one of them!

:lmao:

Oh well, now I see that I was to late for a somewhat serious reply:rotfl2:That is what happens when u quit reading early

Sorry I tried to but got stuck behind someone with a double stroller and couldn't get thru in time :guilty:

:lmao::rotfl2:

They probably loaded their stroller down with popcorn buckets too and made them run out by the time you got there.

Sorry, I was busy pool hopping at SAB, and filling my Big Gulp at the beverage station, and complaining about the lack of smiles and cost of an extra bun.

 Sorry, but do you oppose a ban on Brazilian Tour Groups or the Tour Groups themselves? I can't imagine anyone wanting a ban on Brazilian Tour Groups - they're so much fun!!!!! ;)

I oppose a ban on BTGs. They are fun.

Clearly, the original focus of this thread was indefensible, since no one seems willing to hold up the benner of the "we should ban double strollers" position.

And here, I was enjoying the debate.

:scared1:
Are you for real?? IT'S DISNEYWORLD NOT A VEGAS CASINO!!!!

....:rotfl:

I understand where op is coming from and I don't think they mean to offend parents,
However....
Some people do abuse their doubles and use them to plough through crowds, we've all seen it, .. But mostly I feel sorry for the parents lugging them around, they aren't too easy to steer and you have to find the stroller park outside each ride, then find your stroller again after.., and it's not always easy to steer through crowds when there's the stroller haters who refuse to move out of "principal" .. My kids are out of strollers now, but I'll always step aside for a family using one, it's a family park, I'm sure all the little kids would love to ban tall people ... So they can see better ... My favorite quote is "live and let live"
