Double Wide Stroller Should Be Banned

You are extremely rude. You aren't the only person allowed to have an opinion.

You wound me. I do believe that I have pointed out that you are entitled to your opinion - however selfish it may be. I have encouraged you to share this opinion with Disney, and have even helpfully given you the link to Guest Communications.

And I am the rude one. :goodvibes

We are a family of 5 including twins with cerebral palsy, so a double wide is the only way to go. As a pp mentioned, these double wides are usually no wider than an adult size wheelchair......and I also agree with another pp where if the stroller doesn't fit, you don't go in. Not sure what the problem is, pretty ignorant POV. Not all double wide stroller owners use them as battering rams.

I would also like to point out that I am a pretty proficient stroller driver (you should see me in the grocery store with me pushing the stroller in front and pulling the cart behind) and have more problems with people trying to dash across in front of me more than anything. I patienly wait for people to be out of the way before I proceed as I know what it feels like to have a stroller attack your ankles.

OK you get a liscense, t-catt11 will be sending that to you since she's the new transportation minster.

Instead of double wides, I think people should use double ups!!

:rotfl:

This? This is funny! :lmao:

Lugnut and I disagree. Doesn't mean we can't have fun with it.

To those getting their feathers ruffled over this thread: you might not want to post in a controversial topic - especially with a selfish, even hateful viewpoint - if you can't handle a little dissent.

Cut this out! I may have to report this post to the mods. How dare you ask for personal responsibility! Much better to generalize a group of people that you can visually distinguish.

No, strollers are a blight on WDW, and should be removed post haste.

The nerve of some people, wanting good manners...

Careful... sarcasm is against the rules.

No double wides? Yikes! How will I push my obese 10 year old around? I guess I will get a wheelchair and that way I can use the handicapped entrances. Win win.

Joking joking joking people. Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

I dont think any of these items need to be banned. The navigators of these items need to take more care and responsibility but then so do the pedestrians. If everyone respected eachothers space and just took a second to look before stopping, or look before cutting across then apart from the occassional accident here and there, people dont need to be hurt or inconvenienced!

I go to WDW every single year from the UK, sometimes twice a year and sometimes 3 times (ok so I am bragging a bit now :rotfl:) but I have never found any of these things a problem, not ever! Having said that, I dont think I go at the busiest times of year but even so, there are a lot of strollers and wheelchairs about but I have never had a collision with one!

Now one thing that does happen to me time and time again  is that people walk so closely to me, they stand on the back of my flipflop/thong/sandal and as I walk, the front nearly detaches, always cuts into my foot and it hurts! Arrggghhh :headache: Hmmmm, I wonder if we could ban these offenders!

Wow.

WDW could make its stores a little less cluttered, of course. I'm sure the CMs that had to clean up the mess left behind godzilla-stroller would have liked a store with more open space.

But why does the common sense idea of not having a humongously wide stroller blocking access in a store bring out so much vitriole? Why the personal attacks? I'd be glad to email WDW about the stroller dimensions allowed in their stores, but I don't need to be harangued by anyone.

Sigh. I'm not actually reporting Pirategirl007. This was a joke. She and I post in lots of threads together, and I think we get along great. She made a great point, which I was joking about.

I'd like to know where I personally attacked you. Your position? Absolutely. You personally? Nope.

I'm a guy. Note the part above about my wife carrying the baby. ;)

Careful... sarcasm is against the rules.

Yep. It probably has gotten me reported already.

We have used double strollers in the past, both the double-wide and the Sit 'n Stand we used to have. The double-wides that Disney rents out are so much easier to push and maneuver than the in-line one. It got to the point as the boys got heavier that only I could use the in-line one at Disney.

As for people getting bumped by strollers, it happens. I know I'm very careful when I was pushing a stroller and realize there are many that may not be as careful. But also I realize, from experience, when you're pushing a stroller with a kid or two in it, it is very difficult to come to a sudden stop when that person in front of you for no apparent reason comes to a stop, or veers in front of you. The example of someone being careless and knocking over a shop display being proof that strollers should not be in stores would be like banning vehicles on the highway because you saw an accident.

Also, as far as the original point of this thread. What would you suggest for single parents with at least 2 small children? Pushing 2 single strollers can be pretty difficult and will just result in a make-shift double-stroller that is more difficult to control.

You are technically correct.

To quote Futurama: "And that is the best kind of correct!"

That being said... yes, I am a guy.

You need to check out the DIS Dad's Club. We never resort to sarcasm there.:rotfl2:

The OP did not suggest banning double strollers in stores. They suggested banning them COMPLETELY in the parks.

Maybe Disney should ban 2 year olds period. They are terrible.

I would also like a ban of other people named Mom. I swear there must be a million of us. It is very difficult to know when I am being addressed.

I don't like old people either. They are the worst.

Don't get me started on Germans.

Budum ching! Thank you very much. I'll be here all week. Try the Dole Whip.

Sorry dude!!

BTW, I got the sarcasm in your post as soon as you mentioned facebook.

And you and I can apparently agree to disagree. I doubt that this discussion changes the mind of one single person... though it's likely to rile up more than a few.

You know, last time I drove to one of the parks, another drive completely cut me off.

Maybe they should ban CARS at Disney............ and I don't mean the animated sort.........:rolleyes1

Yeah, but I've already changed my mind, you can use them as long as your are liscensed by t-catt11.
