....but our lanyards are definitely more unique and we'll feel very special because on a ship of however many people are aboard...only about 300 of us will have the DIS lanyards!! (Just as a "design note" our lanyards are intentionally thinner and of softer material so they're a bit more comfortable to wear...and our lanyards have a safety breakaway on them to keep people from choking!)

Erik and Hadley, I just cannot wait to see these!! The lanyards AND the nametags Erik made for us should be so cool!

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the breakaway, then I can wear it at work and not risk an old confused person choking me to death:lmao:

Oooh! Great idea that I'll have to pass on to my DM, who is also a RN!! She HATES that they now can no longer wear scrubs with personality. She used to make scrubs for every holiday and season. Now they're stuck with one color, depending on what department they're working for. This would make a wonderful conversation piece with her clients.+

Well I started working in my blank scrapbook pages for you guys to sign as you pass our stateroom (7122) on your way to Secret Deck 7!! I need to run to the scrapbook store at lunch to get some flesh-colored paper. I should finish those up tonight. (Yeah!!!) So please please please stop by sometime during the week!! If one page fills up, I'll have another to put up!

Oh I hope I don't get anyone's expectations TOO high!! You basically know what your name badge looks like (although I did put a different image with the lanyard team names on the reverse).....and the lanyards are sleek and simple....stylish black with white lettering.....but you can never go wrong with simple, sleek, elegant black----consider it the "little black dress" of lanyards! :thumbsup2

That is the best line I've heard today!!! :lmao: :lmao:

Glad I could make you laugh, seriously, those old people are STRONG when they want to be:)

thats a shame, we can wear whatever we want, but I do agree with certain colors, we have all the housekeepers wearing scrubs also, its hard to tell who the nurses are.

There is NO way I'll be disappointed! I assure you!!! I think our little black dress will be quite classy, and the nametags will be perfect for my scrapbook once I get home!

Thanks again, Erik!

Geez...we are SO fortunate to have our own news reporter(s)! Thanks for keeping us current!

So here's the deal... Hanna, Ike and Josephine are all out there.:scared1:

My meteorologist used to track storms for commercial ships in the caribbean. He says Josephine will be the last storm to form and or hit land, and there should be nothing behind her. In his opinion, it's unheard of for four storms to form in the atlantic at the same time. Basically the water is too stirred up to create a fourth. Let's hope he's right!:cool1:

I will keep you posted with the latest and most accurate tropical updates possible. Consider me your personal weather channel... and hey, you don't have to wait til :50 after for your tropical update. :rotfl2:

No, I'm not a reporter... I'm the boss! :rotfl:

I'm an Executive Producer. Reporters, Anchors, Weather, Sports, shows, coverage, etc. they all report to me. They do it my way or the highway! :rotfl2:

so being meteorologically challenged myself.....do they have any sense of time frames for any of them? I saw on the weather channel yesterday that Hanna is pretty much just sitting and not moving (as of last night) but once it does move it's expected to head across the bahamas (AAAH! Not Castaway Cay!!! hehehe) and then graze along hte east coast of florida but possibly not make landfall in Florida at all. (although that might certainly affect the port....but I imagine that Hanna would be out of the way by Sept. 27th, right?) So is there any prediction of time frames or trajectories for these three storms left?

Hanna should be here and gone by the end of this week. Ike gets closer by Friday (still 1400 miles out) and Josephine hits next week. Most storms take 5 to 10 days to "develop" on the evening news and make landfall. We're looking clear for the week of the 21st.

I've been to CC before (to rescue crew), "during" (Jeanne) and right after a Hurricane. Thanks to Disney magic everything looks the same except for a few brown trees, the island does quite well.

I'm so excited for the cruise and the trip to WDW, but I"m so nervous to fly! Ask my DBF and MagicMe and they will both tell you that I'm scared to fly! Any suggestions to make it easier?

Get some water/a favorite drink when you're in the airport to carry on the plane with you. If you like licorice or candy, bring it with you. These are my rituals and comfort me when I'm getting ready to get on the plane. I'm focused on something other than the flight itself. "I need to get XYZ before I board..." I also have something to DO (drink or munch) while on the plane, versus sit there and work myself up.

Remember to breathe. Focus on breathing in and out while on the plane. There's nothing you can do in your seat to fly the plane, so let the person who has driven the plane thousands of times do their job. Relax your body one spot at a time, and just realize there's nothing you need to do but sit in the seat and be patient.

Don't think you need to worry. Pay attention to the trained professionals, follow their instructions, and just be patient.

I've flown a ton of times, but I struggle with being nervous. :) I hope all that helps!

Cool...don't they make reference to FOX EP's on the Simpsons sometimes? Your handle does include FOX, right :rolleyes1

I'm looking forward to the storm updates. Thanks for the great offer.

I found 1 tiny problem at CC following a hurricane. Apparently the surf eroded the beach and left a hard wall of sand (probably 2 or so feet high). When we went following the bad 2005 hurricane season, I was walking on the fresh sand that they had put over the hard area and fell because this fresh sand was very loose, and landed on the hard area.

To this day I can still feel the injury and I call it my Castaway Kiester boo boo. ;)

I just want to point out Woot.com has new two 2 GB SD cards for $6.49 + $5 shipping for the whole order. You could theoretically buy 6 cards (3 sets) and pay $5 shipping. Twelve GB of storage space. Less than burning a DVD at Shutters.

So if you need memory for your cell phone or camera for this trip, this is a really cheap way to finagle it.

Hope that helps someone!

Thank you! I know in December when I flew with my DBF to WDW, we got Burger King and ate it on the plane...that did help pass the time. I'm going to have my doctor give me something to help me relax...probably Xanex. I'm just hoping I don't get too anxious ahead of time!

PINS!!! I think you get 4

That is 16 Trades!!!!

Anyone who does not want their pins I have two very eager pin traders.
Feel free to drop them in my FE. princess: princess:

Sorry to Burst your bubble but... the Pins are not given out anymore.. You get an empty CC landyard with a clip and pouch on the bottom..

Unless..... they do something "Special" since we will be the 2nd cruise after dry dock.. :confused3

Hmmm. I really do not need six. But if someone gets these I will buy them a drink in exchange for one. So then you will have to figure out what to do with 5 other ones.

Question... has anyone done concierge level? What gifts are sent to the stateroom each night? I'm curious!

We were in a Cat 3 and every night we got something.. a plate of fancy cookies, a fruit basket, a plate of fancy chocolate candies and an unframed picture.. I guess they call it a cel or a sericel

You also get.. Body wash and Solar Gel for after sunburn care.. The rest of the rooms get just the shampoo, conditioner, body lotion..

You will have a Cocktail Party as well.. Free Alcohol and Food

And a Jaquizzi Tub!!!!

:thumbsup2
