Oh well...I don't really care actually.....so long as we can get ON the ship. I know that once you're on the ship the captain can fairly easily divert and avoid storms so it will just mean port changes.....and as far as I'm concerned we can just take the boat out into the Atlantic and not get off of it at all...I mean I'd like at least ONE of our Castaway stops...but I'd also be giddy for the chance to just spend 6 or 7 straight days at sea! :thumbsup2 (We did that on the TransAtlantic last year and it was absolute heaven!)
Here, here! So long as we can get onboard (yes, I am gratefull we are arriving a week early so I have plenty of time for flight delays to work themselves out!)--life will be GOOD.

Question..

IF we get stuck on the ship, either an extra day or can't get to a port or whatever the reason... Do they change the schedule to add anything special to the onboard activities?? Change ports so we can get off somewhere??

From past experience, they don't seem to have many activities onboard when the ship is scheduled to be on an island.. and I am NOT one to sunbathe by the pool since I'd be a lobster in less then 15 minutes.. :headache:

They will keep everyone occupied--no worries there. Our first DCL cruise wasa four day on teh Wonder in 1999. There was a hurricane we had to steer around. We skipped both Nassua and Castaway Cay and went to Cozumel (with two sea days) instead. There were PLENTY of activites on the sea days and lots of arranged shore excursions to book for Cozumel if wanted.
In 2000 the seas were so rought that inspite of several attempts we were unable to dock at CC (yes, we missed on our first TWO cruises:sad2: ). Within an hour we were at Freeport and there were new possible excursions for those who wanted them.
DCL is great at rollling with the punches and comming up with new things to do when needed (they did a lot of that when outdoor things needed to be cancelled on cold, rainy days on the TA also).

I am convinces of 2 things:

1. NONE of the Dis Doubld Dippers are the tag fairy
2. The Tag Fairy DOES NOT hang out on these boards
My lanayrds tag is from this thread. So there must be a fairy (other than Erik of course:lmao: ) flitting about this thread some times.

(meant to do this on Sat since that was our 1 month mark but got busy kicking a printer LOL)

So I trolled our 1st "chaper" to see what was all the hype that we were talking about a yr ago around this time...... thought I would give ya all a trip down memory lane :goodvibes

There was talks of forming a book club and a bartending club (we can all guess who is a part of which club now huh LOL)

Brandie, let us know she was a light wait and the hubbers would be picking her up from the downstairs, after the talk of some receipe drink that was given out (will have to go back and find that recipe :rotfl: )

Kimberly was planning a trip, but I didnt see where too (didnt go back any post)

Hadley and crew was waiting on the results of the Pipen tryouts

Talks of passports had already arrived to some

Some had already started a Cruise pile ::coughs:: Tiffany

Corking fees were the talk of some as we wonder if they would charge if a Box O'wine was brought instead :rotfl:

I had started my quest of bugging you all to make a logo for our group, man some of those early edits were scary.. what was I thinking LOL

and THAT was just in a 2day span LOL

Cats 1-3 have their own line for check in. :) You get to board first too if I am not mistaken. ( one of the many perks.)

They do. Sadly I cannot bust into that line.

Jen - If your kido's are making enough noise to bother us from the other side of the ship - We have bigger problems! :rotfl:
:rolleyes1 <---That's all I have to say on that.

Ok...my box full of FE gifts has arrived. The original box must have been pulverized, they actually re-packed the merchandise into an all new box. The damage log sticky on top says all contents are enclosed. At casual glance it seems they are (I'm not counting them right now!!!). Nothing is damaged, and they look awesome if I do say so myself!!! Better than I anticipated!

And slid underneath it on the porch.....
The other set of our cruise docs.

I love the review, Drea! My, how far we've come....or not! :lmao:

Can anyone give me a link to the current logo? I went to print mine out & it was the Costa Maya logo. Woops!

.
When I was thinking about your trashed box, it reminded me of the Ace Ventura movie scene when he's the delivery guy & he's drop kicking the box down the sidewalk.

GLAD everything looks to be in order & all safe! :thumbsup2 Sounds like someone took care of the problem before they just dropped it in your lap to deal with!

Thanks again, TVEPFOX for being our personal newscaster!! I'm enjoying all of the education I'm getting out of this!

Jen, woo hoo on the FE gifts arriving safely!! Cute little comment about a little white envelope, too!

Drea...that was an awesome idea to go back down memory lane! Fun!

Heather, go to Post #1 to the Cruise Logo section. "Right-Click" on the picture and select "Properties". Then you'll see the addy.....or you can "Save As" from there as well. :)

Did we ever decide who was bringing the box to share?

Great flashback Drea!

When I was in College I worked at UPS as an address correction clerk and we dealt with damaged boxes. There are some interesting things being shipped out there! Especially around the Holidays! :lmao:

I'm glad all was well and just to make things better they brought your cruise docs too!

OK...I've had an interesting day at work.

I work at a science center where we have live bugs, cockroaches, spiders, snake, sea life, bees and butterflies. Love them all, I'm not afraid of them one bit. Now, if they were dead, then I'd be terrified of them. I hate dead animals...even more than that, I hate taxadermied animals. Something about the realness of them really creeps me out. My DBF laughs about it, but I can't help it! Whenever I'm around them (which isn't often) I get goosebumps and the chills! Like I said, I don't know why I get like that but I do.

Anyway, so I'm at the front desk today (basically where every visitor comes to pay admission) and this woman comes up to the desk with this snake raised up in a striking position in a yellow plastic bag. She tells me that one of her friends collected these and she has since passed on and this woman somehow aquired the collection. She had spoken to my co-worker about donating the snake to the Center (since we already have a live snake on the exhibit floor). I said, "Thank you so much" and in my head I'm thinking 'please don't let it be dead, please don't let it be dead'...so I asked her what exactly it was. It turned out to be a taxadermied snake! :scared1:

So now I'm getting the goosebumps and chilly thinking how in the world am I even going to get this snake over the front desk without touching it...I knew that would be impossible. So she passed it to me and I grabbed the bag, holding on as little as possible. OMG, it was squishy! I put it down on the front desk as fast as I could, thanked her and she left.

I'm at the front desk, cold as can be and covered in goosebumps thinking what am I going to do...this darn snake, although dead, is staring at me! So I page my one co-worker who took the snake to the backroom. Now, it's in my office sitting on my co-workers desk...thankfully I can't see if when I'm sitting at my desk.

Sigh...what a day! LOL!!!

:scared1:  :scared1: OH YUCK! I'm so sorry!!!

That does remind me of a time I was house shopping with a friend of mine. She's terrified of snakes. TERRIFIED. Even the dead skin of a snake will make her have nightmares for weeks (which her loving youngest son knows and brought home one day from school). I HATE them, too. UGH! Anyways.....so we are being shown through this house, and in the downstairs family room, there was a taxadermied snack on this plaque that had an engraved story on it. That thing was way over 9' long. We sucked up the deer head and bass fish on the wall, but THAT?!?!?!! We left that house in about 90 seconds. We didn't even go look at the bedrooms! EEK!

EWWW I dont like snakes period, alive or dead.

So remind me to take you into Jeff's garage...to see the cat!!!! Yes, Elgart has been keeping Jeff company for many years (although he did get singed in the fire at his shop in '07)!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Jeff was going to have his boa constrictor done but it was so big and would have cost way to much $$$. My sister put her foot down on that one!

TheDisneyGirl02: I don't care for stuffed things, either!

I also can't handle Praying Mantises. They freak me right the beepity beep out. There was a 9 inch long one on my car when I got out of work one night in Mississippi. I went right back inside work. I still get shivers thinking about that monster.

I was going to say, "I'll handle the snakes and spiders," but once I started thinking about it, I had way too many exceptions to list. I can't do water moccasins or cottonmouths.

One of my mom's houses had attack crickets. Those things were creeeeepy!!! :scared1: Black spines out of their legs, and they would jump on you.

Ok, that's enough, or we'll NEVER get to sleep tonight!

TVEPFOX works mornings from 1 am until 1 pm. You can expect your tropical weather updates during those hours when I have access to the special computers and programs. I'm happy to answer any questions, make predictions and rub the weather crystal ball! LOL I normally go to bed around this time of night. I enjoy reading the day's post on my blackberry!

Tropical Storm Karina has just formed. Luckily this wind bag is in the Pacific. Our foe would be named Kyle.

anyone else getting a little bit nervous with all these storms? 2 more in the wings waiting for us.. :headache:
Yes it is making me really nervous as this is our first cruise ever. Thank goodness we have insurance.

So here's the deal... Hanna, Ike and Josephine are all out there.:scared1:

My meteorologist used to track storms for commercial ships in the caribbean. He says Josephine will be the last storm to form and or hit land, and there should be nothing behind her. In his opinion, it's unheard of for four storms to form in the atlantic at the same time. Basically the water is too stirred up to create a fourth. Let's hope he's right!:cool1:

I will keep you posted with the latest and most accurate tropical updates possible. Consider me your personal weather channel... and hey, you don't have to wait til :50 after for your tropical update. :rotfl2:
I hope so.
There have some been some pretty HYSTERICAL things said and NOT many tags! One of the classics was Erik's reference to fairies
:lmao: I remember that it was great!
OK just had my Jimmy Johns sandwich without MAYO and it really sucked.

This heart healthy thing really is bland.
Man every time you mention Jimmy John's my stomach growls for a #11

Thank goodness it was not that Atlantic. Thanks for the updates:goodvibes

Oh more fairy talk! I love it! :lmao:

Something tells me that even if the Tag Fairy WAS paying attention to me, they probably wouldn't put a quote beneath my name alluding to my being a fairy since they might be concerned about offending me (or others) even though I made the remark myself. So I guess I shall never have such a tag....

.....I'll have to just be happy with my fairy magnet! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Jason and I did lots of cruise projects this weekend...actually we're done with everything except the packing (which we have officially started....putting things in our suitcases that we won't need before the trip...and besides we have only 16 days and 5 hours until we we leave!! YEAH!!!). Anyhow...we finally finished all the lanyards. (Everyone keeps thanking me for all my work in coordinating and designing and printing and ordering...and Hadley for all her legwork compiling lists and everything....but Jason deserves a big round of applause because I made him do the REALLY hard work....I printed the name badges three to a sheet and I made him sit and cut out all 300 of them so we could stuff them into their individual badge holders!). In addition to finishing up all the lanyards finally, I made the message center boards and we finished all our door magnets and our secret mickey gifts.

Our door magnets are quite fun...everyone will have to stop by our room daily to see! You scrappers will like many of ours because we tend not to just print something out of the computer...we actually arts and craft constructed most of our magnets using actual photos, scrapbooking paper, Disney decals, etc. We have a good 8 or 10 general magnets (including our official "disney fairies" magnet :lmao: ) and then one themed for each day!

I also finished our sewing projects this weekend...I finished our halloween costumes for the MNSSHP and also made two new Disney ties (one little mermaid and one disney princesses) for us to wear to dinner....and I made us matching bowtie and cumberbund sets out of 101 Dalmations fabric for formal night!
