I'm glad you had such a fabulous trip, but I'm sad I didn't get to say hello. We're off to Epcot this morning with lunch at Les Chefs de France. Not sure about our afternoon plans yet. Have a great, safe trip home!
Teena any word of when YC/BC are getting the new RFID mugs? Not looking forward to new higher price for length of stay![]()
I'm sorry too! But we have been on the move so much that we are hard to track down. We are done with hs today. Not our best day. Hot crowded and twarted by tour groups. About 110 wait for rnr did us in. Projected was 40 but tour groups had fp.
We are now headed to captains grille for lunch. Then either ep or sab until it is time to leave. We will probably be in lobby from 4 to 4:30 waiting for magical depress
Only thing we were told is that it is being rolled out at Allstars first.
FANTASTIC!!! I'll buzz on by the pool later if you're taking a dip. I'm in line at RnR coaster with fast passes for 500 larva. People are giving us dirty looks but they don't realize we all fit in one seat!
Pbbbbttt......
Buzzy

First,. Second, a little background. My dad loves Disney. He introduced me to Minnie Mouse at Disneyland when I was two years old and he inspired my love of all things Disney - especially "Epcot Center" and the "Polynesian Village." (Although he became a BC fan when I was in college and we stayed there for the first time in 1992!)
We usually average two WDW visits per year and one DL visit per year. And we've done two Disney Cruises - Dream in 2011 and Wonder to Alaska in 2012. Our kids are ages 6, 13 and 14 and they all absolutely love Disney. Even our teens still rank WDW as their #1 vacation destination, even though they've had lots of different experiences. We vacation in southern California annually, and fit a day or two at DL while we're there. My parents have a condo in Florida, so we can stop by WDW when we visit them. In other words, we often combine Disney with something else.
Why? Part my own nostalgia, part the fact that our boys love it so much and it's a good fit for our family right now, and part brand loyalty - it's hard to find anything more organized and customer-service oriented than Disney. (Although I do like the Kimpton hotel brand!)
But overall, we travel relatively frequently, so it's really a mix of Disney and other places. Over the past several years, in addition to local weekends away, we've been to San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Newport Beach (every year), Park City Utah, Phoenix, Napa (w/o kids), Whistler, Vancouver, Victoria, Ann Arbor, Monterrey, Santa Barbara, Skagway, Ketchikan, Juneau, Asheville, Washington D.C. (several times - I grew up there), Boston, Savannah, Vero Beach, Clearwater, Williamsburg, and Mexico. I make that list to remind those who think we only go to Disney that that's not really the case. But I guess those people are not reading this, so it doesn't matter!
But growing up, it was pretty much Disney and Newport Beach, California for me, and I wouldn't trade those experiences with my family for anything. (Thank you, Mom and Dad!!!) My parents had demanding professions and the primary purpose of vacations was to relax with their kids - not necessarily to go a different place every time. Either way - new places or not - it's about that time with your family.
Here is a link to a podcast I did describing my Disney journey.

My Disney fascination started out innocent enough. Now I am a full blown DVC, AP, Mickey loving junkie. For many of the same reason pixarmom so eloquently described.
And BC is my home but I also spend time at the other resorts. I just love the way Disney 'does it'
It's funny, I do two vacations a year that are family, a trip to Maine to bring DD to see my dad and stepmother, and either a trip to see or a visit from my stepsister and family, along with my Mom and stepdad. (Way too many steps but that's my crazy family!) I figure that with the vacation time I have left I really want do Disney where I can have a great time with DD and my best friend. Maybe that will change, but I am alway looking to add more Disney time rathe than go to other places. I also try to go to DLR for long weekends to help get through the wait between trips to WDW...
Not me! Been on soarin. Have a fp. In line for test track
I'll be working on 8/4!!!! And 8/4 is Bob's and my anniversary.
I'm sitting in hell, I mean Disney Quest right now. Our original plan was to go to BB today but our son was up most of the night with an earache. Not surprising since he's spent over 50% of this trip in SAB! So my husband took the girls to BB while I prepared to take Jay to the urgent care in Celebration (the closest one in our insurance). I spoke with my SIL and told her what was going on and it turns out she brought antibiotic ear drops and numbing ear drops with so we drove to their rented townhouse to pick them up. We didn't have to go to the doctor! Yay!
After picking up the drops, I made a deal with Jay....if he would let me go to Cast Connections (a store for CM's) then I would take him to DQ. And here I am....at my least favorite place at WDW. But I got some great bargains! We had lunch at POR which is always yummy!
Tonight we are heading to MK and have reservations at Liberty Tree Tavern. Our youngest cant wait to see Teen Beach Movie at the BC tonight. Since my husband isn't a big MK fan, maybe I can convince him to take her while we stay and play at MK!
Our 2 oldest can't wait either for Teen Beach movie tonight, right now I'm suffering through "dog with a blog"in a giant pillow fort on our living room floor fans blasting...its wicked hot here today....sigh can't wait till we're at SAB chillaxin
Bummer wait time!!! We lucked out and DH & DD walked on RNR, then we walked on TOT, used FP for TSM, Star Tours did animation drawing class, went early to our ADR for 50's and tgey sat us right away, had to kill time shopping while waiting for next FP at TSM. Pulled FP for tonight RNR and are waiting for a boat back to SAB now!!

Here is our view!!! Great room.
Yes. 4th floor, end if the hall. Standard view room, but it looks like a garden view to us!!!!
Some last minute packing, and we're on a plane heading down TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm hoping against all hope that we can jump on an earlier flight tomorrow morning. Either way, can't wait to get down there!
One of the highlights of this trip has been hearing my teenager declare several times that this has been the best vacation ever.
Just wanted to thank everyone for feeding the Yacht and Beach Club bug. DH and I stayed BCV for our wedding last year.
So excited to try out YC CL in 30 days! It's just for a couple nights but, since we're locals now, I think we'll be spending most of the time just enjoying the resort. (read: enjoying the pool and CL!!) Epcot and DHS have EMH both nights so, that's probably when we'll head out.
Really hoping that DH enjoys CL because I would love to make this a habit.![]()
The boats don't actually go into SAB, right?
Kidding, kidding...enjoy the pool. Good list from DHS. Was the animation class fun?
